George was an integral part of the Moree Rugby Club and it is hard to find the words to express how much we will miss him. Please join us to remember George and celebrate his life, as per the details in the notice below. All current and former players, members and sponsors of the Moree Rugby Club are asked to attend. ... 23.01.2022 NO RUGBY COMP IN 2020 Unfortunately the current restrictions in place due to COVID-19 have meant that Central North Rugby is unable to plan for any form of a competition for 2020. However, as soon as restrictions ease and allow us to have crowds in a safe manner, rest assured that we will arrange to have our gates opened and the drinks flowing- hopefully with a friendly rugby match thrown in the mix too!

Having no rugby and no events has meant we haven’t been able to enjoy the community spirit and camaraderie that comes with our club. We have also faced some financial struggles as a result of Covid, meaning that it is more important now, than ever, that we have all the help we can moving forward into 2021. All positions are declared vacant, including the Presidency of MRUC. ... As many of you are aware, our current President, Paul King, has been appointed as the President of Central North Rugby. Whilst this is a wonderful achievememt for Kingy to be congratulated and celebrated, it sadly means that Kingy will be unable to continue as President of MRUC. 12.01.2022 RESULTS FROM THE FINAL ROUND Second grade are through, finishing in 2nd place before finals with a convincing 64-14 win over Narrabri today. Their next game will be in Walcha against Pirates on 31 August 2019. First grade are out, finishing in 5th place before finals with a loss of 42-31 to Narrabri today. First grade needed to lose within 7 points to stay in the top 4.... Moree Womens 7s were a forfeit today. Good luck to second grade in the coming weeks!!

12.01.2022 AMAZING NEWS FOR MOREE GIRLS Our very own Shai-Lee Smith and Kiara Smith have been selected in a group of 46 females across Australia to take part in a special three-day camp with Rugby Australia in Sydney next week where their skills will be put to the test in front of a panel of coaches and experts. Following the camp, a First Nations Sevens squad of 20 will be chosen to compete around the country with a chance of being plucked for the 2024 Olympics!... 04.01.2022 DONATION TIME We are so proud to announce that we are donating $20,000 to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Moree Branch!! We are absolutely blown away with t...his amount given the dry times in our community. We could not have done this without the incredible support of our local businesses and community members who donated cash, raffle items, auction items, purchased raffle tickets and auction items and attended our events! You are all amazing and we are so happy that we could be the vehicle to help the community support such a worthy cause! These funds will go directly to servicing the chopper in the Moree region so that this vital service can remain free and operable for all members of our community 24/7! That takes the total tally of the funds raised and donated from the Ladies Day Committee to a whopping $56,500 over the last three years! We are so proud and hope that you’ve enjoyed yourselves at our events. Sadly it’s time for the current Ladies Day Committee to bid farewell as we all take a well-earned break.
