25.01.2022 Final decision on 18th July

25.01.2022 Moree Show Society President Brendan Munn and the committee, wish to advise the Moree and wider communities that we will be having a CLOSED show jumping horse e...vent this weekend, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of August. This event is STRICTLY for competitors and event organisers only and IS NOT open to spectators under any circumstances. There will be a registry at the gate and if you’re not directly involved with the events you will be turned away at the gate without question. There will be no food stalls or other entertainment at this event. We would also like to take this opportunity to advise the community that the Moree Show Society are in no way affiliated with or support the running of any mini shows, amusement carnivals or the likes recently discussed and/or advertised in the community. The committee are already heads down planning a bigger and better show for when we are allowed to safely go ahead with such an event. With thanks, Moree Show Society

24.01.2022 A good thing to carry on with each year? What are your thoughts about broadcasting the Dawn Service to the whole town? Working in with the RSL.

24.01.2022 Moree Showgirl 2021! If you are interested in entering or would like to help out, please email [email protected]

22.01.2022 PLEASE SHARE What a moving tribute to our veterans. We may not be remembering and reflecting on this coming ANZAC Day as we usually would but, be assured we still can. ... We are asking the community to join in and stand as one at the heads of their driveways to honour the sacrifices made by the brave veterans throughout time. The 2020 Moree Show may not be happening as planned this weekend however, Show President Brendan Munn and Ringmaster Andrew Pitman, with the support of Coates Hire Moree, will still be up bright and early at the showgrounds to make this ANZAC Day as memorable as any. Readings will be preformed by Mr Roger Butler who has been our ANZAC Day master of ceremonies for many years. Read more here from Bill Cindy Poulos about the day. Thank you Bill. *Please remember to practice social distancing and stay safe.

19.01.2022 How good is this! The Moree Show is back

18.01.2022 Recently at the Moree Show Executive Member Bec Cope presented the Next Generation to Lachlan Biddle, Anne Johnston and Jessica Biddle. Awarded for his contrib...utions and attendance at working bees, no job was too big or small for Lachlan. He has been a pillar of support for the Committee and in particular the Show President in preparation for this years Show. Anne Johnston took on the role of Covid Coordinator for the 2021 Moree Show, ensuring that all requirements were met so that Moree could enjoy a Covid safe event. Anne has recently joined Next Gen as a new member and is keen to become involved in Group 14 events. Jessica Biddle has stepped into the position of Assistant Secretary this year, and has helped behind the scenes with the coordination of this years Showgirl Competition. Certainly two important aspects of any show, which require a lot of time and commitment. Moree Show Society showcased a fantastic display for the local community to enjoy. The schoolwork and fine art entries were amazing to view. Well done to the hard working Committee members on putting together another fantastic show weekend! #ASCNextGen #BestinShow #ShowTime #YouthinAg #NextGen #LoveRural #RuralShows #MoreeShow #NextGenRibbon

14.01.2022 2021 Volunteer of the Year presented to Jeff & Sue Greenaway by Moree Show Society President Brendan Munn. This award was introduced a few years ago by Brendan to recognise the contribution by people that put time into the Moree Show that aren’t committee members. Congratulations Jeff and Sue.

12.01.2022 Over the past month the Show Society members have been busy demolishing the old kitchen under the grandstand, repairing and painting ready for the installation of a new kitchen, thanks to a Showground Stimulus grant. It has come up a treat. Thanks to all the members that lent a hand!

12.01.2022 Look at the new kitchen under the grandstand at the Showground. Moree Show Society members demolished the old kitchen and provided labour for painting. Air conditioning going into the hall soon, so will be an asset to the Showground

07.01.2022 2020 Moree Show Cancelled. After a meeting held yesterday at the Moree Showground, the committee regretfully voted unanimously to cancel this year’s Moree Show, which was rescheduled to be held on August 14th,15th. After hoping that conditions may allowed our much loved event to be held, the situation has become untenable. Since 1874 the Moree Show has only been cancelled 5 times, during the World Wars, the town fires of 1928, and due to seasonal conditions. We have put the s...afety of our whole community at the forefront of our decision, and hope you can stay with us in these trying times. The 2021 Show is already being planned, and should be bigger and better than ever. This decision was made after giving ourselves the maximum amount of time before making this difficult call. The health and safety of our community must come first. I encourage you all to support our valued sponsors, who have been behind us the entire time, and we hope everyone stays safe during this dreadful pandemic and that Moree stays Covid free. Yours Sincerely Brendan Munn President Moree Show Society Inc. See more

05.01.2022 2020 ANZAC Day Dawn Service, Moree A special thank you must go out to the following people for their time, commitment and dedication to making this happen. To ...Moree Show Society Inc. committee President Brendan Munn, Ringmaster Andrew Andrew Pitman, Secretary Karen Munn and Katherine Munn for organising and live streaming the ceremony. To Roger Butler, President of the Moree RSL Sub-Branch who led the ceremony. To Jack McCudden from Moree Caledonian Pipes & Drums for a chilling performance. To Bill Cindy Poulos for generating such great publicity around the event. And finally to Coates Hire for their continued and generous donation of the boom lift.

05.01.2022 The Moree Show Society was busy this morning with a working bee fixing the ticket box on the southern gate, and putting oil on the grandstand seats. Thanks to all who attended. Moree Show is still planned for August 14,15. A final decision will be made on 18th July, depending on COVID restrictions at that time. We will take into consideration the safety of the Moree community.

05.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT After much consideration and consultation, the decision to POSTPONE the 2020 Moree Show has been made by the Moree Show Society comm...ittee. The new show dates will be the 14th and 15th August 2020. Given the fluidity of the current environment we will keep the public updated on any further changes closer to the date. We have spent considerable time reviewing over all options. We understand how important Ag shows are to not only our local communities, but also to the traders exhibitors and members of the showman’s guild, who’s livelihood heavily rely on Ag Shows. The last thing we wished to do was cancel altogether. We’ve come to this decision with the best interests of our community, sponsors, supporters and committee; given current government restrictions in place involving COVID-19. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for their generosity and continued support. Also, to the public for your understanding and patience at this difficult time. Regards, Moree Show Society Committee
