22.01.2022 Merry Christmas from the more than HEARING team! Here's a happy snap of when we went to Vanuatu last month with the Starkey Hearing Foundation. Over 2 days, we helped fit over 700 patients with free hearing devices. Here's one of the many patients we helped. Follow us for more updates on our work with the Foundation!

Read this glowing review the lovely Grace M had to say about us: I had known that I had a hearing loss for over twenty years but I didnt feel the need to do anything about it at that time. I decided to have a hearing test with Peter Altidis when he was assisting my daughter with auditory processing issues.... The results showed that at that time my need for hearing aids was optional. Peter left the decision up to me. Around 2010, when I decided that I had enough of constantly asking people to repeat themselves, Peter retested me and assisted me in choosing aids suited to the expectations of what my hearing should be, which was needs driven and not price driven. At no time was any attempt made to try to push me into a model which would have greater functionality than what I would need, and which would then cost more. Numerous visits (all included in the price) were made to have the capacity of the hearing aids increased, both on the computer and manually. I could have as many appointments as I wished until I was totally comfortable and satisfied with the capacity. The day before a planned overseas trip, the attachment broke on one of the aids. Even though it was a Saturday afternoon and he had finished work, Peter arranged to meet me and to replace the broken part so that I could fully enjoy my holiday. I have recently purchased my second pair of hearing aids from Peter, and both I, and all the people I have recommended More Than Hearing to, are totally satisfied with both the service and the enjoyment we derive in being able to participate more fully in the world around us. I travel for half an hour for my appointments even though there are many clinics close to my home but I have spoken to repeat clients who travel for numerous hours from the country for their appointments. The discussion focused on the communication barriers that deaf and hard of hearing people face on a daily basis, and what can be done to make environments more accessible to everyone. Asphyxia spoke about how she grew up feeling isolated because those around her would not meet her halfway in making an effort to communicate with her.
