25.01.2022 Receiving feedback from the people we help recharges our energy. The Safe Space has been supported by Moreton Group Medical Services since the Safe Space opened in 2019.

23.01.2022 Cold cold night on outreach tonight. Spare a thought for anyone sleeping rough right now. Maybe dig out some warm clothes and donate via Hobart City Mission

19.01.2022 Day one complete of the week we spend raising awareness for homelessness #HW2020. The team at Moreton Group is key to completing all the tasks. #Homelessweek

17.01.2022 Moreton Group has been running outreach at Flint House in the evenings for many years. We are proud to support who we support. It was lovely to make a news article with ABC news to show the change at Flint House under the new management and our new day time friends at Orange Sky Laundry and Short of a Sheet.

16.01.2022 Last week we came to Warrane Mornington Neighbourhood Centre and we were impressed by the facilities available there for the community (thanks for the photo!). Next week we are heading to Gagebrook. If you would like a visit to your neighbourhood centre for a flu vaccine clinic, please make contact.

16.01.2022 We were not awarded any funding to distribute influenza vaccines but we are doing the work regardless - coming to Gagebrook this week.

16.01.2022 Shout out to our Medical Director Dr Meg McKeown from the Australian Antarctic Program. Moreton Group Medical Services have been proudly engaged to provide COVID-19 predeparture screening for expeditioners to help keep COVID out of Antarctica.

16.01.2022 It is the start of National Homeless Week #HW2020 and to celebrate Moreton Group will visit the Safe Night Space at least 3 times, make calls to the prison to help plan for release of anyone who is to be released to homelessness, visit at least 2 community service provided crisis accommodation locations to run a free GP clinic, make a trip to one neighbourhood house and run a free clinic, assist up to 40 homeless people across Tasmania with their medical needs over the phone, make 4 or 5 home visits across Hobart to find and attend to reported homeless in crisis, accompany the Salvation Army Street to Home program at least once during the week, have at least 3 multidisciplinary meetings to make plans and create action on behalf of the homeless and maybe have a cake!

15.01.2022 Looking forward to next week #HW2020 #homelessweek

15.01.2022 Reading this in the local paper was a lovely surprise. We hoped we make a difference but Matty wrote it so well. We must keep making moves for zero homelessness.

15.01.2022 This week we welcome a new doctor to our team as we build capacity to meet the demand for health services for the marginalised. We have consistently brought service to the sector since 2017 but 2020 has seen a shift in our capability to meet the demands of the year of COVID - others backed off but Moreton Group Medical Services has stepped up. I couldn’t be prouder of our team.

13.01.2022 We appeared on the news with our mobile GP clinic at the Hobart Safe Night Space this week as part of raising awareness during Homelessness Week 2020 #HW2020

12.01.2022 Warrane / Mornington Neighbourhood House and Clarendon Vale / Rokeby Neighbourhood House has taken up the offer, if you are part of a neighbourhood centre that would like an influenza vaccine clinic or any other government funded vaccines that you are having trouble accessing then message us and we will respond.

11.01.2022 At Moreton Group we acknowledge World Mental Health Day each year on October 10. We work with 3 appointed Mental Health Homeless Outreach Support Teams (MHHOST) across the state to support the homeless while they are seeking permanent accommodation. This has been our focus for the last 5 months as we complete a pilot program. We plan to be re funded for this crucial work; now the model is proven to work.

10.01.2022 A new chapter for Moreton Group Medical Services, we started a new location for outreach, onsite yesterday with a new Monday evening clinic. As we learn to live with COVID-19 our service can build and we invite any GPs in Hobart wanting to make a tangible difference to people, to make contact with us.

08.01.2022 We are now being supported by Friendly Care Advantage Pharmacies in Hobart. What a great concept, a not for profit pharmacy! The profit that is created from their business model is put into community projects to help those in need. The future is looking bright for Moreton Group Medical Services.

04.01.2022 Every night almost 120,000 Australians are homeless in Australia. #HW2020 #housingendshomelessness Look up your local federal electorate on the heat map. https://everybodyshome.com.au

04.01.2022 Meeting the people and hearing the stories is more than enough to motivate us daily. Moreton Group Medical Services is building a strong reputation but remaining connected to those who matter most to us. Thank you Gary for this amazing piece in Dr Dr Meg’s favourite colours and for agreeing to create some art especially for Moreton Group. #notjustaGP #everyonematters #gettingitdone #MoretonGroup

03.01.2022 Our thanks to Goodman Conveyancing who have stepped forward to support Hobart’s most vulnerable. Their donation means that our Doctors, Paramedics and Nurses will be able to rapidly assess patients in the community with a state of the art portable patient monitor.

02.01.2022 We are back for our second week of face to face evening outreach in Hobart since our pause for Covid during which we worked via telehealth. Improving access and enabling change is our goal.

02.01.2022 Dr Meg our Medical Director, attended the 16th annual International Street Medicine Symposium (ISMS 16) this week and shared our local experience with other teams around the world! Learning from each other to improve the medicine we deliver here in Tasmania.

01.01.2022 A new chapter for Flint House; our team have been supporting the people who live at Flint for the past six years. Collaboration is key with Orange Sky and Short of a Sheet.

01.01.2022 #notjustagp #notjustahomelessman thanks for showing me your pieces of art Gary, I treasure my green ants and they hang in the office where we can appreciate them on the daily :)
