24.01.2022 Hope everyone is enjoying their Queen's Birthday long weekend (those of us who get the public holiday!). To those who are working, thank you for your service! Tomorrow night is the first Tuesday of the month so that's training night!! Topic is Acute Coronary Syndrome / Stroke. If anyone would like to come along and check out what we do, please drop us a message. We do training on the first and third Tuesday of the month. We would love to see some new faces!

23.01.2022 #storagekingburpengary laurence smith thanks for letting us use the driveway for training.

23.01.2022 Day 2 at Landsborough.... big storm last night so we were prepared for lots of trail runner injuries.... not as many as we thought! The unicorn, although squished during the mud rats course, has made a full recovery ( the rider, however, is still licking his wounds from not beating the kids...) The social distancing tickle stick was out and about again with some interesting suggestions for additions..... Thanks team for a fantastic weekend away. It was hot and humid but lots of fun!

19.01.2022 From our MBFAV family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas. For those missing out on family time due to COVID, we hope you are able to interact with family on some level during the break. Thank you for all your support during a very different year. We do what we do because we love supporting the community and without your support we wouldn't be able to do what we do! Stay safe over the festive break (not like the poor Elf!!) and we are all looking forward to seeing everyone in the new year!

15.01.2022 Happy end to a very successful day!! Everyone is home safe and gear is back in shed. Huge thank you to my deputy commander Viv, my two amazing car pool drivers who carted and dropped off gear/people and to the rest of the crew who manned each checkpoint (special mention to Anne who was solo at checkpoint 6 all day except for when we came to feed the ducks!!) .. THANK YOU!! It was a very long day for most of us (the four of us did 14 hours each!) But with no major checkpoint i...njuries and no on course responses (unless we class the magnetic sign incident as a response and critical injury ).. the day was a perfect stress-free event (well except for Carrie-Anne scouring the side of the highway looking for said sign - she will never travel with me again!!) Okay, time for me to change, shower and bed!! Thanks everyone Cheers Jo.

14.01.2022 Thank you to all the nurses out there and a special big thank you to the nurses in our group who give up their time to volunteer first aid services in the community

14.01.2022 And that's a wrap for 2020. Our last training night for 2020 was a social event with a look back on photos from the year, presentations and a spread of festive food and drink! We completed 80 events through the year (even with having 4 months off during COVID) with our volunteers completing 1600+ hours. An awesome effort from the entire team. President Simon presented members who completed over 100 hours with a certificate of appreciation. The President's Award went to a... very deserving candidate - Tom Johnson (well done Tom!). Thanks again to all our vollies for everything you do. Another massive shout out to all our sponsors who have supported us this year. Without your support this year would have been so much harder. Laurie from Burpengary Storage, Jason from Raw Skips, the guys from Caboolture Signs and Darren from Saltspray Photographics. From all of us at MBFAV, we wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year

08.01.2022 We had the absolute privilege tonight to have 2 guest speakers. First up was Federal Member for Longman Terry Young. After Terry's talk on his latest community initiatives, he also very kindly volunteered to participate in a CPR demonstration! Our second guest speaker was Peter Kemp RN. Peter took the group through wound management with lots of group interaction. Terry also made a very good patient! Many thanks to everyone who came along and to our two wonderful guest spea...kers. Also welcome to our three new members that came along to check us out! If you are interested in first aid and helping your local community, please get in touch!

05.01.2022 Do you know how to do CPR??? Only 1 in 10 survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. If you learn CPR and how to use an AED you could one day save the life of someone you care about. #RestartAHeart #WorldRestartAHeart #CallPushShock

05.01.2022 What are you doing today??? We have a busy weekend with members out covering Burpengary Pony Club and Red Ride. For us to be able to cover these events, we have to keep our skills refreshed and up to date. So a group of members not out on events, attended an advanced resuscitation and advanced first aid course today.... If you have an interest in doing first aid and can see yourself hanging with this bunch get in touch (Facebook message or website). We love having new members coming to hang out and sharing knowledge between members. #mbfav #moretonbayfirstaid
