23.01.2022 This weekend, due to the world's current unusual circumstances, a special JOTA/JOTI is being held where Guides and Scouts from all over the world can connect with each other through the internet. (We will still have the traditional event in October.) Contact me if you are interested in your daughter joining a world-wide organisation, making special and often life-long friends. [email protected]

23.01.2022 Happy Easter! I hope the Easter Bunny managed to hop by your place (Australian Government gave EB a travel permit!). Many of our Guides are continuing to meet virtually over the term break. For them, in a period of uncertainty, Girl Guides is one certainty!

23.01.2022 Girl Guides have started back for 2019. Would you like your daughter to be a member of this amazing group of girls and young women? Leave a comment or send a message :)

23.01.2022 22nd February is World Thinking Day, the day Girl Guides take time to think of the great game of Guiding, and their sisters around the world. Guide Units around the Region are using their meetings to celebrate the international sisterhood and traditions of Guiding.

22.01.2022 Girl Guides in Moreton Region are looking forward to returning to face to face meetings as soon as the Queensland Government announces Stage 3 of the CoVID 19 easing restrictions plan. So if you and your daughter preferred to wait until meetings were back to normal, keep an eye on this space.

22.01.2022 Currently, Moreton Region Girl Guides are looking for adult women to volunteer as Guide leaders. Some localities have large waiting lists to join Girl Guides because demand is high, and there is not enough adult volunteer capacity to meet demand. No experience is required. Girl Guides will provide training, and have flexible volunteer hours. An added bonus is you will make wonderful friends!

22.01.2022 Have you thought you would like to volunteer as an adult? We have Guides in Belmont, Bulimba, Camp Hill, Capalaba, Cleveland, Victoria Point, Wellington Point, and Wynnum. We would also like to reopen Coorparoo. Send a Message

22.01.2022 Term 2 has officially finished, and our Guides are now on holidays. The biggest excitement for them, and their leaders, is that with COVID-19 Stage 3 easing of restrictions occurring during the holidays, we are on target to meet face to face once again at the start of next term! Many of our leaders have gone above and beyond all expectations, including their own, to bring Flexible Guiding to our/your girls. Women who had never heard of Zoom, let alone knew what do do with it, have challenged themselves and come to this point being able to say that they succeeded. BRAVO!!

22.01.2022 HAPPY WORLD THINKING DAY! Be inspired by the history of our Guiding! Did you know that Girl Guides began in 1909 when a group of girls turned up to the Boy Sco...ut rally at Crystal Palace and asked to join in. Their request for something for the girls led to Robert Baden-Powell and his sister Agnes founding Girl Guiding, which has now become a global movement. Today for World Thinking Day, 10 million members in 150 countries come together to celebrate the early champions of a girl-led movement, the first leaders, and all those since our founding who have explored ways to be a leader in our organisation. This years theme for World Thinking Day is Leadership. Its Time to Lead and in Queensland, more than 4,500 children and adults from Girl Guides will come together today to celebrate not only the fact it is our Centenary anniversary '100 Years Strong' but the 100 years Queensland have celebrated and participated in World Thinking Day. #TimeToLead #WTD2019 #WTD2019GGQ

21.01.2022 As we enter into the Term Break, some Guide Units have made the decision to continue to 'meet', sometimes at their regular meeting time, while others are jumping onboard some national and international programmes. This will help them to remain connected. There are some positives around COVID-19. It has brought out creativity in both our Leaders and Guides. Our Guides are rocking the virtual platforms, and adult volunteers have found that meetings can still occur even if there are thousands of kilometres separating them.

21.01.2022 Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Guides Qld has made the decision that units will not be holding normal meetings, instead we will be doing Flexible Guiding. Leaders are excited to try new avenues of delivering the Australian Guide Programme to our youth members, and beat the covid-19 boredom! Is your daughter interested in becoming a Girl Guide?

20.01.2022 This is lovely weather to go camping, or just brushing up on our camp skills: cooking over an open fire, putting tents up and making camp gadgets.

16.01.2022 Yesterday was International Women's Day. This week is Women's Week. This is an opportunity to showcase what amazing things girls and women do. Every week in term time, and sometimes in holidays, community minded women volunteer their time to provide a 'girls only' arena for girls to achieve their chosen milestones. Why not come and join us.

15.01.2022 Happy Birthday Girl Guides Queensland!

12.01.2022 I think this is something we can all take to heart. In my regular work life, I am a Librarian. So the comment "read, read, read' really sings to me. If you are self Isolating, reading is a wonderful escape. If you just don't want to subject your family to all the yucky germs out there, cuddle up together at home and read out loud; we are never too old to be read to. Make this a positive time for your family. Jennifer, Region Manager, Moreton.

12.01.2022 Moreton Region Junior Guides (all our younger guides aged 'not yet 11') are poised to take part in a special camp just for them. Not long now!
