22.01.2022 Massive shout out to Henk from Evergreen Tree Care Brisbane for taking the time out today to train up a few of our senior rescuers in tree climbing and safety. With these new skills our team will be able to reach new heights and successfully rescue koalas who would usually be out of our reach! We can not express how much we appreciate Henk and everything he has taught us. We are looking forward to being able to put these new skills into action when needed most!

20.01.2022 Damiancastellini has done it again!! We are so lucky to have such an amazing artist join us in our mission to save the koalas!! While Damians artwork still has a serious message behind it, he has made sure to get it across in a humorous way & we are absolutely loving it! ... Here you see Killian (who has needed his eartag replaced in the past) with the help of his feathered accomplice removing his tag & sending our team on a ‘wild goose chase’ around the bush

20.01.2022 With the weather warming up, a good addition to assist wildlife on your property is to put a few bowls of water out on the ground for a variety of animals. Thes...e shots where taken on Land for Wildlife property in Lockyer Valley of an Echidna and Koala coming into drink from wildlife water bowls. See more

19.01.2022 Nothing beats healthy koala sightings

19.01.2022 Same tree, same koala, same time last month... This is their reality day in & day out. Safe places are few and far between which means koalas like little Dobby have no where to call home. 3rd time Dobby has needed our assistance https://www.facebook.com//a.13070311033/3338968892839287/

18.01.2022 3 amazing students from Horizons College made these beautiful candles and kindly donated the proceeds to MBKR. Today we named Koala Fraser after one of these great kids Fraser was rescued from Burpengary with a bit of a head wound, he is now at the wildlife hospital for assessment.

07.01.2022 Fidget Rescued this morning from Margate which isn’t the safest place for a koala. With no habitat around & Fidget struggling to grip/climb the tree, we decided to send him off for a health check at the wildlife hospital

07.01.2022 Little Pixii rescued late last night from... You guessed it ANZAC AVENUE Kippa-Ring. Pixii was less than 100m away from where Killian was the day before. Unsure what had happened to this little lady before the (wonderful) callers found her, we sent her straight off to the wildlife hospital for a check over just to be safe

05.01.2022 Sadly today we lost a beautiful, big, healthy male to another dog attack. His wounds were too horrific to show, but we don’t apologise for showing this sad pho...to. Koalas are more active at this time of year, males are looking for the females and defending territory from other males. Mothers with babies are slower moving about with a joey on their back. We ask everyone to be aware that koalas are often on the ground moving to other trees in the early morning and again at dusk, often moving through our backyards. Please just be aware of where your dogs are at these times of day, especially if you know there is a koala in a tree in your yard. A big thank you to Jade Hammer of Main Street Vet who took our call at 6.30am on a Sunday morning and was available to take away the pain for this beautiful koala. See more
