22.01.2022 1 week pre-bday shred started yesterday Checking in @ 55kg Not counting cals or macros just eating less and sticking to whole foods (keep in mind I’ve prepped and tracked for 5 shows and numerous shoots so I’m pretty good at guesstimating my intake although my focus is really going to be on observing and maintaining a state of slight hunger, not eating to complete fullness, cutting out the shit in this practicing austerity/disciplined state of mind)... I did my last heavy leg session yesterday. Will do 4 x HIIT on the stepper, 2 x upper body sessions, 1 light glutes session, 1 x circuit. Daily steps 13k Aim is to pull in through my legs and mid section although this mornings pics after 1 day of cutting I’m pretty happy with how I look and down in scale weight). Tracking and sharing to show that if you make training and eating well part of your lifestyle, building lean muscle to support a healthy metabolism you don’t need to do drastic or long cuts to achieve results. 22.01.2022 Results of my 5 week shred leading into my shoot pre Xmas: Down 3kg scale weight Down 2cm from waist Down 3% BF... The plan was simple; move more, eat less I didn’t track for this shred but used my experience from doing many preps (and previously tracking for them) to intuitively guide myself into a calorie deficit. I still ate chocolate everyday as well as mostly whole foods. 4 x weight training sessions (2 x upper and 2 x lower) as well as HIIT on the stepper which increased from 1 - 3 sessions by the end of this prep. I’m currently sitting mid way bw these two pics post Xmas feeding (will post some updated pics soon). Take home point: get to know your body, what works, what doesn’t and it will respond. The only way to do this is to practice consistently. I hear from a lot of women that they want the quick fix, that they’ve done every diet approach under the sun, that they’ve stuck to the plan for a couple of months and didn’t get results or did and then put the weight back on. This is a very short-termed, unsustainable way to approach fat loss abd building a physique you love. I’ve been working on my physique for the last 4 years with heavy lifting and the last 12 years w daily vinyasa yoga. Building a physique you love and learning how your body responds takes time, practice, effort, consistency and dedication. It’s a lifestyle choice, not a means to an end quick fix. 20.01.2022 There’s always going to be something that you could let hold you back.... 18 days out from my group shoot with my Body Temple coaching girls and 23 days out from shooting w @theblacklightsydney Life has really rustled me the last few weeks. With the busyness of the end with work commitments and personal stress. My has sleep being off, fatigue has kicked in and my tendency to want to soothe my system w food has been a challenge!... Does this mean I quit? NO Through adversity comes reward. The reward of breaking through the fear, emotion and BS of ego that holds us back from showing up as our most integrated, resilient selves. There is always going to be a ‘X’ (excuse) not to do the work that is required to get you from point comfort/pain to point success/purpose. Don’t give up. 19.01.2022 Hump day shout out to my coaching client @roxana_alexandra_ I’ve been working with Roxy for the last 12 weeks. Her goal was to build bigger glutes, increase lean muscle generally as well as improving strength and stability to improve her posture and reduce and back pain. Roxy has: ... - lost 4.5cm for her waist - Increased her hip cms (due to building her by 2 cm) - Maintained her body weight but lost a total of 8.5cm - Increased her food intake to approx 1900 cals (when we started coaching she was eating around 1200-1500 cals) Roxy is a busy entrepreneur. She has limited time in the week to spend hours at the gym. She has achieved these results on a 3 day weight training program: 1 x upper, 2 x lower, making small lifestyle changes and directing her training and nutrition towards her goal (helping women build a better is my vibe!) 13.01.2022 Do you have a case of ‘hyperintention’? Ever wanted or desperately desired something so bad, put all your focus, attention and actionable steps in place almost to the point of obsession only to find the opposite happens? This is hyperintention or paradoxical intention. ... Hyperintention is associated with the fear of not achieving an outcome. Let’s relate this to fat loss and specifically comp/photo shoot prep. There is a dead line to meet. Your whole life becomes focused around the actions you take to get to you to stage/shoot at your desired body fat %; weight training, cardio, hitting targeted cals/macros, steps, weekly check ins w your coach to assess your progress, posing practice etc. Your focus becomes more narrow. You’re rigidity leads to over training and cutting a little lower on cals to make sure you get that scale number to budge each week all while obsessing about and starting to fear that you won’t be lean enough by this dead line Next weeks check in you get on the scales and nothing has happened! No weight, cm or caliper drop! This is where fear and hyperintention (obsession in relation to the outcome) have overridden your process and flow.... Check yo self Trust the process! Trust your coach. Trust timing. Learn to enjoy the process and give it everything you have, ignoring the outcome, because if you trust the process, the outcome will eventually happen More on this in my next post.... See more

12.01.2022 I wrote down a goal 6 years ago... That I wanted to create a space and community for women. Women who have been through hardship but have used that hardship to drive them into growth and healing.... Women who hustle for what they want and deserve. Women who are ready to step up to the challenge (esp those who are mums) to choose themselves, to work on and for themselves. Women who aren’t afraid to say no in order to say yes to themselves. I feel like I’m achieving this goal. I’m currently rebranding my business to Body Temple by Morgan which I believe encompasses all facets of my holistic health and coaching business (do you like the new wall logo??) I’m so proud and inspired by all the women I work with. I’m inspired by where they’ve come from, what they’ve overcome, and how hard their willing to work for themselves. It is my ongoing goal to service and help more women realise just how amazing, strong and deserving they are to live a life they love in their body temple. 12.01.2022 The most important promise you can make and keep is with yourself... I’m learning that’s there’s a massive difference bw empathy and compassion. By nature I’m attuned to other peoples emotions, I can easily put myself into another’s shoes and see things from their lens but that gift doesn’t move me towards my own purpose. ... Attunement to others is different from the art of standing in your own truth and choosing what’s aligned with your own highest good. No obligation, no rigidity to a rule or belief that’s not your own, and definitely not making decisions based on the fear of ego. That’s compassion to me. So what did you promise yourself? 10.01.2022 Are you comparing apples with ?? Pics taken approx 1 week apart.... No change in diet, or training, on same calories. ... Left pic: last week of menstrual cycle (approx day 25) Right pic: first week of menstrual cycle (approx day 6) 2kg scale weight difference Too many of my female clients (and women in general) give themselves shit when they see an increase on the scales in the later stages of their cycle. Here is a reminder that your body is doing what’s it’s supposed to do stop self-loathing! From the later stage of our cycle (end of luteal phase) and during the first few days of menstruation all hormones are at their lowest which means for a lot of us our mood and energy may be low and training to the same intensity as you do in the first half of your cycle may not be possible. After the first few days of osteogen and progesterone rise (which means more energy, mood lifts, we can train harder and feel leaner). Just before ovulation (day 8-14) we see a spike in ostrogen (can see an increase in fluid retention for a couple of days) and testosterone (we may feel stronger with training). The later part of our cycle if egg fertilisation doesn’t occur (luteal phase from day 15 - 28) osteogen and esp progesterone spikes before a major dip just before our next Spikes in osteogen can be associated w fluid retention in the body (around ovulation and mid way through the luteal phase/last phase of our cycle). Are you taking this into account when comparing your weight, cms and pics week to week? Before you start self-loathing and feeling like you’re not progressing with your fat loss goals I’d recommend comparing week 1 of month 1 to week 1 of month 2 as a gauge to how much your hormonal fluctuation impacts on your numbers and pics. Using an app to track your cycle (like @clueapp ) and working with a coach to track weekly/monthly stats is a great way to better understand your body’s physiology, to lessen the anxiety if you are seeing your results fluctuate and to honour that this is a part of being a female! #femalefitness #menstruation #womenshealth #coachingtips See more

09.01.2022 The sense of achievement and success is a very individual thing. What makes it possible is aligning with a strong purpose.... The path to success is also not linear. I’ve had moments where I’ve felt stuck and like I’m not getting anywhere but I’m still trying all the ‘things’. Like being stuck in a room with no door ... What I’ve learnt is that things are still shifting and happening even if we can’t tangibly see it yet. Take fat loss for example.... We may not see any movement on the scales or cms some weeks but things are still transitioning on a biochemical level as long as the intention and dedication is there. Our cells respond to what we tell ourselves and how we behave Similarly we don’t see our finger nails grow or a plant sprout but it’s still happening! Before you know it that plants flowers have bloomed in all their glory The key is to keep chipping away and hustling for what matters to you, even when no one is looking, accolading you, even when you can’t see the change yet. It will all be worth it if you trust that things are still happening and progressing. Practice patience and dedication in alignment with purpose....the fruits will come!
