25.01.2022 LIFE exhibition is LIVE! Pour yourself a glass of bubbles, sit back and enjoy the show! 25.01.2022 This week I am launching a MASSIVE new original work. It’s a diptych - 2 panels which have been framed together beautifully as one by @frameline_framing_printing tag your friends with large walls cause this one is for them! Sneak peak photo by @monika_berry

24.01.2022 I posted these during the first lockdown in March and from my reading I think (hope!) they are all still achievable, starting Christmas shopping now may be the only one that’s not due to retail closures, instead why not pledge to start your Christmas shopping from a local business in six weeks time, please share the love and tag your fave local businesses for support. We’ve got this

24.01.2022 The day has come! You guys have been asking for it! Edition prints from my solo show are now available online via my website and via @greenhouseinteriors they are available only at one size, the size of their original piece and on paper or canvas.

22.01.2022 May is Crohns and Colitis Awareness month @crohns_and_colitis_australia Crohn’s Disease is classified as an autoimmune disease with no cure. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease over a decade ago, it was severe and I ended up with a perforated bowel, which essentially meant I had a large whole in my intenstines which was leaking and slowly poisoning my body. I had surgery that not only changed my life physically, but forced me to look at the choices I make and what I put in...to my body. Prior to this surgery, before autoimmune diseases were ‘cool’, I lived with debilitating pain, unexplained weight loss, blood loss, anaemia, countless blood tests, hospital admissions, MRIs, CT scans, barium scans, gastroscopies, immunosuppressive medications, steroids, colonoscopies and anaesthetic- eventually major surgery resulting in 25cm of bowel removal (plus a free appendix removal!). I can see it now as somewhat of a blessing as it has forced me to really look after myself, listen to my body and do what I can to nourish my body. Those 10 years have been one hell of a journey! I’ve ingested tree bark, fermented tea, Chinese herbs that I can’t pronounce, broth from bones and blood of animals, I’ve done Bowen Therapy, acupuncture, meditation, lotions and potions - you name it I have tried it! I was on countless medications including steroids and immunosuppressive medication. What I’ve come to learn is here is NO magic trick, no super food, no one-cure-all answer. There are plenty of fad foods but a holistic approach, including medication combined with lots of reading and tweaks along the way REALLY does work, I’m living proof! Crohn’s disease isn’t something you can see from the outside (but you don’t look sick) and it’s still somewhat of an unknown disease. Currently there are approximately 75,000 people in Australia living with either Crohns or Colitis. If you didn’t know of Crohn’s Disease, like myself prior to both mine and my sisters diagnosis, then now you do! There are a whole gamut of invisible Illnesses, and you never know what someone may be dealing with on a daily basis! Photo @monika_berry

17.01.2022 This photo really shows the scale of this piece, it measures 1.2 x 1.2, I am always amazed at the scale difference between 1m and 1.2 it’s only 20cm but the difference is huge! This one needs a BIG wall! Wearing @obusclothing Photo by @monika_berry

14.01.2022 Holy moly it’s October, that means it’s exhibition month! My very first solo show opens in 16 days! The heat is ON! I’ve long dreamed of having a solo exhibition, something that I could completely immerse myself in away from my normal day to day life. I’ve poured my heart and soul into this body of work, not much blood, but plenty of sweat and tears! I have two little bubbas and I only work two days a week, yet the past few months I have been working anywhere up to 30+ hours ...a week. Because I love it. A solo show, for me isn’t about money, or sales, or notoriety. It’s simply a career bucket list item. Something that I have truly always wanted to tick off. Thank you @lon_retreat for providing me with the most beautiful inspiration and venue. I hope you can make it along, Shapes of Lon will open to the public October 17 and run until November 28. . . . . . Thank you @erinnewmanstylist for coordinating this beautiful outfit, @mlm_label for the most beautiful dress, @kingstonjewellery for the custom made earrings, @zoekratzmannfootwearandapparel for the most comfortable heels, and of course @monika_berry for always making my work look it’s best See more

12.01.2022 My solo show at @lon_retreat is getting very close, and while I am unsure of what the opening will entail due to restrictions of public gatherings I can assure you there will be something. I’ve been hesitant to share any snippets of the work due to some personal reasons but I have been working hard. This body of work is so different to my usual work and I have thoroughly enjoyed my studies of plant life and working from photos and physical reference materials and it’s been challenging using a more muted colour palette. I have found it very cathartic over the past 8 months to have an outlet to distract me from the current craziness of life during covid. I truly hope you’ll love this collection as much as I do.

12.01.2022 NEW WORK! Lately I’ve been feeling at a bit of a crossroads with my practice. I’ve been feeling a pull within to explore new styles, new techniques, new subject matters. The commercial art world is currently saturated with very similar styles which I have found to be really frustrating when I work so damn hard to remain relevant and original. It’s been obvious to me that you guys {my wonderfully supportive followers} dig my previous work so it’s made for a hard decision to ...try and move away from that particular style. Producing work that makes me fulfilled, while balancing with work that is commercially viable is a tricky line to walk. So after months of experimentation I think I have finally cracked the code! This new original diptych {to me} is the perfect balance of old and new, it has the colours which you guys love, and the new techniques which makes my heart sing. At 1m x 1.4m she needs a large wall! Available now online at @greenhouseinteriors Wearing @obusclothing Photographed in studio by @monika_berry

12.01.2022 I’m a sucker for shape! I’m so excited to share this body of work with you and I really hope you are able to make it to the exhibition, it will run from October 17th - November 28th at @lon_retreat Gill Road Point Lonsdale, Victoria . . . .... Styling @erinnewmanstylist Dress @mlm_label Earrings @kingstonjewellery Photography @monika_berry

09.01.2022 I loved the movement within this piece it’s called ‘Gold Urn on a Table’ because sometimes coming up with an edgy name is all too hard any other artists feel my pain?!

06.01.2022 DECEMBER 1. My Christmas deadline is a little earlier this year, postage delays are inevitable and I would hate for someone to miss out on their gift. So while I simply cannot guarantee anything, I would like think that if you have your order in by December 1st that you have the highest possible chance of receiving your order in time for Christmas. ‘Blue & Green Sunflowers’ pictured here is almost sold out on canvas, with just a handful of editions left.

06.01.2022 Wow, it’s been a year... A year that’s tested us, our spirits, families, our businesses, our strengths, a year that’s forced us to relook at the way in which it has been ingrained in us to live and work - a year that’s (finally) broken the 9-5 work cycle. Many of you already know that I quit my job at the start of this year and embarked on the biggest year of my life, completely backing myself and believing that I could make my passion my ‘job’, and boy was I in for one hell... of a ride! you guys blew me away with your increased support. Commissions, murals, exhibitions, collaborations, photo shoots, record breaking sales, a new studio - Its been my largest year to date. It’s also been a steep learning curve. I’ve learnt to say no to lots of things, to turndown projects, to not spread myself thin, to not dilute my work and my brand - to only work on projects that spark joy and work with companies that align with my personal beliefs. I felt a lot of guilt this year. Guilt that my business was BOOMING while many people (friends included) were losing their jobs and in financial hardship. I frequently downplayed how working for myself was going when asked. I felt guilty that I was able to continue to work from home completely unchanged, while many people were adjusting to reduced hours, reduced wages or simply adjusting to working from home. I used that guilt I was harbouring to donate whenever and wherever I could, I donated countless pieces of art to charities and auctions, countless vouchers, we donated our house as a holiday to a family who were affected by the bushfires, and the biggest - a $6000 donation to Save the Koalas. I halved my design fees to assist small businesses with their branding and online branding during the shit storm. I wanted to give back. And slowly, I started to realise that my business will continue to peak and trough for its entire existence. That’s just how it is in small business and it’s been my biggest learning for 2020. CONTINUED IN COMMENTS

05.01.2022 There’s been SO much love for this piece! It blows my mind! It’s available as both a canvas or a paper print. I get lots of questions about framing, I don’t offer framing unless you are located in Geelong, Bellarine or Surf Coast. A canvas print is box framed in oak with no glass and a paper print has a beautiful white border and it framed behind glass.

04.01.2022 A huge heartfelt thanks to my A team, who helped, amongst a challenging few months keep my shoot on track for my upcoming solo shot at @lon_retreat pictured here are @erinnewmanstylist who put together the BEST wardrobe, and my girl @monika_berry I cannot wait for you to see this exhibition come together

04.01.2022 ‘The Medley of Green’ was definitely one of the favourites at my solo show, swipe to see the photograph that it was painted from. It’s now available as an edition print on paper or canvas.

03.01.2022 FINALLY! I am beyond proud (and a little nervous) to share with you a preview of ‘The Shapes of Lon’ - my very first solo show at @lon_retreat This collection, produced from studies at the grounds of Lon, focuses on the aesthetic, geometic shape and pattern makeup of the native flora located within the grounds of the Retreat and the surrounding town of Pt Lonsdale. The body of work is a more methodical take on my usual style, with paired back colours from that of my iconic... bold palette. It was a huge but rewarding challenge for me working with more muted colours as it was important that the work still be recognised as my signature style. All works have been painted on hand stretched canvas and framed in stained Oak timber by @frameline_framing_printing ‘The Shapes of Lon’ will open to the public on Saturday October 17th and will run until November 28th. If you’re not able to visit regional Victoria the pieces will be able to be viewed online. A HUGE heartfelt thanks to my A team who pulled together my shoot in challenging circumstances. @erinnewmanstylist you are phenomenally talented and selected outfits that not only complimented my artwork but also my style and my personality. @monika_berry my personal photographer who drops everything to shoot for me last minute - you know how much I love you! The most beautiful dress: @mlm_label Earrings: custom made by @kingstonjewellery Turban: handmade by @erinnewmanstylist (I told ya she was awesome!) The most comfortable shoes ever: @zoekratzmannfootwearandapparel Photography @monika_berry
