11.01.2022 Love this initiative for what will be an unprecedented hiatus with huge impacts to so many industries. Its important to not think of it as a lockdown though, as its not, by staying home you're just doing your part in minimising pressure on our hospitals etc leaving care and supplies for those that will actually need it during this time. No panic needed, just tunes (and a beer or two). Our industry, like many, is under serious global threat as gatherings in public spaces a...re cancelled. We have experienced this first-hand with 17 imminent shows cancelled, bringing us to our knees financially. There is no bailout package for musicians and songwriters and yet, we all desperately need their beauty reflected in the world so we can find our way through dark times. This problem is much bigger than us, and we fully acknowledge there are musicians who will be worse off than we are, which is why we have come up with an idea to help musicians globally, which we hope you will get behind, and share with the world. This is one way you can help musicians without spending more money than you already do, and without even leaving your homes (which is convenient right now). Our request is simple: STREAM MORE MUSIC to HELP MUSICIANS GLOBALLY. 1. Play your favourite artists non-stop on your preferred streaming service 2. Consider moving to a paid streaming subscription if that is manageable for you 3. Create a playlist; name it lockdowngetdown, and share it with your friends 4. 02.01.2022 Usually the seedy comment I get at almost every event I shoot is "someone should take a photo of you" but for once I totally agreed. i'm so sick of the cycle of hating the way I look > being afraid to make an effort > never seeing photos of myself > when I do I hate them > etc so to help break this I asked my beautiful friend @_brotherfish (I didn't tell him any of this) to take photos of me and holy heck, I love them.
