25.01.2022 Don't Porsha, Jackie and Carolyn look lovely embracing the Melbourne Cup spirit today!

25.01.2022 This is quite a complex question. It is important to have a wider financial plan in place regardless of the current situation. Questions we would need to understand first include: > Do you have enough money to live? > Do you have enough capital?... > What is your risk tolerance? Only once we have a plan in place and an understanding of your bigger financial picture, can we start to overlay the appropriate method of investment for an individual and the associated benefits and appropriate level of risk. If you would like help with investing, contact one of Morgans advisers on (02) 6583 1735.

24.01.2022 A low-risk investment option is something that is capital secure and defensive in nature. Meaning, regardless of what is happening in equity markets, you know that your investments are going to be there tomorrow. Examples include cash or term deposits. A high-risk investment option is considered a growth asset with increased volatility, whereby the capital value fluctuates with the expectation of higher capital growth over the longer team. Examples include shares traded on the Australian Stock Exchange and property investments. If you would like help with managing your risk when investing, contact one of Morgans advisers on (02) 6583 1735.

10.01.2022 Superannuation increasingly makes up a large proportion of your assets to be considered in your estate plan. Superannuation is a non-estate asset. Via a beneficiary nomination form, you could nominate your estate, and then your super would be dealt with through your will. Alternatively, you could nominate one or more eligible beneficiaries who could then receive the funds directly without the need for funds having to go through to your estate.... If you wish to discuss how your superannuation assets fit within your wider estate plan, contact one of Morgans advisers on (02) 6583 1735.

09.01.2022 Did you know there has been a change to Super contribution rules for over 65's. Find out more here https://bit.ly/3oxmE3h

09.01.2022 There are different ways to get access to property, here are two options. You can purchase commercial or residential property, such as a residential unit. However, this will require a large capital outlay, is reasonably illiquid, you will only have a single tenant paying rent and you are responsible for the maintenance. The second option is through a listed property trust, or Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). Investors purchase these units on the stock exchange as they... are traded like shares. These REITs buy properties, improve and manage them and then pay the rent from the tenants back to investors in the form of distributions/dividends. REIT enable investors to access different property segments, including office buildings and logistics centres, etc. that they couldn’t afford by themselves. Additionally, if you need to access money to go on a holiday, you can sell your units, and not need to sell the whole asset. Distributions also tend to be slightly higher than residential property rental yields. If you would like to learn more about accessing REITs, contact one of Morgans advisers on (02) 6583 1735.

07.01.2022 The time has finally come to be able to live your life. With so many things to look forward to, the last thing you want to be thinking about is whether you’ll have enough money to live the lifestyle you deserve. You want to enter into retirement knowing that you have enough money to live comfortably and that your hard-earned savings, superannuation and investments will last without having to modify your current lifestyle. The Age Pension can be a very important component of your retirement income as it could potentially make your money last longer. Although the government has numerous measures in place to limit eligibility for the Age Pension, many retirees may still qualify for a full or part pension. To learn more about maximising your income during retirement, download the free e-guide via this link https://bit.ly/2G8cPr0

07.01.2022 An Australian Government review has revealed complexity, uncertainty and a lack of financial guidance are impeding people from understanding the retirement income system. This is leading to many Australians failing to adequately plan for retirement. Our wealth management expert Terri Bradford details the findings. #retirementplanning #retirementsavings #retirementincome #wealthmanagement #ausbiz #superannuation

05.01.2022 Morgans Port Macquarie are proud to be sponsors of Port Pirates again this season. We were thrilled to have these two cuties pop into the office today to thank us for our much needed support.

03.01.2022 We're hiring! Financial Adviser Role - If you have a passion to put your clients at the centre of everything you do, whilst enjoying a great lifestyle, we have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Adviser that values autonomy in a supportive team environment. As a market leading advice firm we have a focus on direct investment, and have no bank or fund manager ownership to create potential conflicts of interest. We pride ourselves on providing quality financial advice driven by strategy - not product. Find out more about this role at https://bit.ly/2EaDbaY

01.01.2022 Bank shares are highly leveraged to the health of the economy and the COVID health crisis will affect the whole economy. The economy has both robust businesses as well as marginal businesses. The best way to think of the economy is like a garden. When the garden is well watered and fertilised, all plants survive regardless if they are planted in the wrong soil or in the wrong climate. When it doesn’t rain or the fertiliser stops, it’s only the strong plants that will survive.... Once the Government stimulus has stopped, there is going to be a significant amount of businesses struggle, particularly small to medium-sized businesses. When looking at the big four banks, Morgans Port Macquarie prefers to have exposure to those that are better managed, with the least exposure to these weaker parts of the economy. If you would like help with investing, contact one of Morgans advisers on (02) 6583 1735.

01.01.2022 The biggest disadvantage of low-interest rates for retirees is that they likely are no longer generating enough income from term deposits. As a result, retirees are forced to make uncomfortable decisions around their investments and risk running out of money. If you are no longer generating the income you used to, Morgans Port Macquarie focus on building personal relationships with our clients to formulate long-term investment plans. We help people understand the role each ...asset plays in a diversified portfolio and ensure they have the ability to sleep at night. If you would like help navigating this low-interest market, contact one of Morgans advisers on (02) 6583 1735.
