23.01.2022 I am delighted to report the safe arrival of the 52 Khancoban Station bred, PTIC, pure Rennylea Angus heifers at Dimby Downs, Blackville, NSW. These young femal...es have the core productions traits of soundness, fertility, calving ease, optimum growth, maternal and carcase traits that Rennylea is so well known for. After their first calf, they will be AI'd to black Gelbvieh bulls, as part of the Dimby composite program. See more

20.01.2022 Join us Tuesday, March 2nd for this phenomenal offering. 145 lots featuring spring & 18 month aged Balancer, Gelbvieh & Angus bulls.

19.01.2022 The annual Warner Beef Genetics bull sale is coming up on Tuesday 3rd March, on the ranch at Arapahoe, Nebraska. This year's sale features 120 bulls, including ...purebred Gelbvieh, Balancers and purebred Angus. The DLW TPG Frontrunner 2510F bull has already attracted his share of publicity, so I thought that I might feature videos over the next 10 days of some of the other bulls that I find of particular interest. And I will attempt to give some comments about what I know about the genetics that back these bulls. With the great shortage of purebred Gelbvieh bulls in the market these days, I thought that I would start with a couple a really outstanding purebreds. Enjoy. See more

18.01.2022 There is a lot of discussion within Gelbvieh circles right now about Purebreds, Balancers and breed percentages. And much of this is under written in the knowle...dge that top end PB herd bulls are getting really hard to find. Here is another exciting Purebred herd bull canditate who sells as Lot 4 in the Warner Beef Genetics sale. DLW Generosity 591G is a tremendous prospect, his sire Arapahoe 207A was the standout red purebred bull we have produced to date, his dam had previously been a donor for Post Rock. The dam of Generosity 591G warrants a special mention, she was purchased from TPG by Monte Warner, and she is an ET sister to our Jackpot 7551B bull. With a steller production record and the production of this bull, she is heading for the donor pen in 2020. This PB94 bull is HP and black, his data and EPD profile justifies why we consider him to be a top of the line herd sire.. See more

18.01.2022 With all the "craziness" of the past few weeks, I have not had the opportunity to report on the great sale that TransPacific Genetics enjoyed in Nebraska on Tue...sday 3rd March. With our wonderful partners, Dan & Kate Kessinger Warner of Warner Beef Genetics, we sold our tremendous young purebred Gelbvieh bull, DLW TPG Frontrunner 2510F, for a combined sale valuation of US$102k, with full possession going to Duane Strider of C Cross Cattle Co for US$52k, and 20 semen share packages for US$50k. Quoting Dan Warner, "Frontrunner is unique for his combination of power, softness and eye appeal. Maternally every female in his 3 generation pedigree has been a top end donor in her own right, including 2510Z, 802U, 408P & 203N, giving him the genetic potence to be an absolute breed changer". The sale of this young bull represents a lifetime of considered breeding decisions, to get the balance right between optimum performance and highly potent maternal genetics, with a practical and sound phenotype. 15.01.2022 Hard to believe it's been nearly a year ago that I was in Nebraska for the annual Warner Beef Genetics female sale, but then again, it's been a crazy year. Check out this year's sale catalogue which includes many tremendous young females, flush opportunities and frozen embryo packages from our TransPacific Genetics partnership. I wish that I could be there to see the cattle and enjoy the unique friendships.

14.01.2022 Well done to my friends and partners Dan and Kate Warner on a really awesome set of purebred Gelbvieh and Balancer bulls again this year. The quality runs deep, and even when you look beyond the "feature" bulls, there are still many "herd bull" quality sires to select from. For something different, I will feature some of these particular bulls in the next week, bulls that may just get "overlooked" in such a strong sale offering.

13.01.2022 JOIN US...11/20/2020! What else do you have to do on a Friday night?! Attend a cow sale! Quality genetics...right here!

11.01.2022 DLW TPG Alumni 7513A ET showing excellent soundness, mobility, length and docility as a 7YO sire. He was the 2014 National Futurity Champion, who now has approx 500 progeny on file. The impact of his amazing dam, 802U, has been so significant upon the Gelbvieh and Balancer population, through her many sons, daughters, grand sons and grand daughters

10.01.2022 After featuring a number of AI quality Purebred Gelbvieh bulls, I thought that I would switch my attention to the many excellent Balancer bulls that sell in the... annual Warner Beef Genetics bull sale on the 3rd March. But where to start, as the depth in this offering is outstanding. So I thought that I would lead off with Lot 71, DLW TPG Jackpot 351F ET, a really interesting fall BA38 son of Jackpot, out of a tremendous Predestined female we added to bring elite carcase genetics to our program. And check out the result, +61 CW, +1.03 RE & +0.79 Mb in a long, mobile, big scrotal bull, who started life as an 80lb calf. As Dan says, "Jackpot is the best purebred bull he has used to produce Balancers from straight Angus cows".I really like this bull on paper and in the video, check him out. See more

08.01.2022 If you look closely through next week's Warner Beef Genetics sale catalogue, you will notice the impact of donor cows 2510Z & 2520Z, both being daughters of DLW... Wardon 24W. Wardon was the natural calf of our then top donor, DLW408P, and in my view, he has proven to be the best breeding son of Black Impact. He sold to Dr Randy Schawang, well known vet from David City, Nebraska. I spoke with Randy at last November's GAIN sale, and he told me that Wardon had done an excellent job for him and that he was still breeding cows at 11 years of age. It sure supports our confidence in genetic makeup of both 2510Z & 2520Z, and their excellent purebred and Balancer sons. Progeny of Wardon daughters sell as Lots 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 2 & 22. See more

08.01.2022 The recent purchase of ABC Apollo P866 is another step in the development of the Dimby Composite herd of Duncan and Sarah Ball, of Blackville, NSW. Having purch...ased the entire Morgiana Beef Composites herd a number of years ago, I have had the opportunity to continue to work with Duncan in the ongoing development of his herd. The genetic makeup of the herd is a Gelbvieh x Angus x Simmental breed mix, and the recent purchase of ABC P866 from the Hicks family at Holbrook adds some new Gelbvieh genetics through the KCF Apollo A340 sire line. He will be used on the higher % SimAngus females. See more

07.01.2022 I am delighted to report that the 41 PTIC Hicks Composite cows have arrived safely in their new homes, with 10 cows going to my old friend, West Wyalong Vet Geoff Boal, and 31 joining the Dimby Composite herd of Duncan and Sarah Ball at Blackville. These cows are bred to Hicks black composite bulls, to calve in September. Many thanks to Tom Hicks for his assistance in putting this sale together.

05.01.2022 Selling Tuesday, March 2nd Lot 17.... DLW TPG HEADLINE 1018H Herdsire Alert! He was a member of the Champion Pen of 5 at Cattlemen's Congress and has awesome d...ata and phenotype. Flush brother to lots 16-19. https://web-east.dvauction.com/events/116606/lots/20430660

05.01.2022 41 3-6YO, PTIC Composite cows from Hicks Beef at Holbrook, NSW. They are due to calve in September to black and polled, Hicks composite bulls.

02.01.2022 Check out the annual sale catalogue of our friends and partners, Dan and Kate Warner. This is a tremendous set of Gelbvieh and Balancer bulls, that excel in both phenotype and documented performance based genetics.

02.01.2022 Another great step forward today for Duncan and Sarah Ball's Dimby Composite herd, with the purchase of a tremendous line of 50 pure Rennylea blood Angus heifer...s from Khancoban Station in the Upper Murray. I took Duncan to Rennylea a couple of years ago to show him what a very top and highly committed Angus breeding program looks like, and since then it has always been our goal to incorporate Rennylea genetics into the Dimby Composite program. The Khancoban herd was established under the guidance of Brian Corrigan from Rennylea, and only the very best Rennylea bulls have been used. These young Angus breeders are PTIC for a spring calf, and will be AI'd to purebred Gelbvieh sires in the future, for the production of GV x AN "Balancer" females. See more
