But it's not surprising that the report on a State Government land supply survey lists Campbelltown as one of half-a-dozen Adelaide suburbs identified as hot spots to accommodate future housing. An extra 88,800 houses would be needed in the next decade to accommodate nearly 200,000 people in Adelaide and surrounding townships new population and land forecasts have revealed, according to the Tiser report. 12.01.2022 As National Tree Day 2021 approaches, a reminder that we have a responsibility to protect mature trees in our suburbs and surrounds Government re-greening initiatives are a gimmick that allow them to get away with cutting down our mature trees and carving up our suburbs We need mature native trees not just for urban coolingbut so that our native critters have homes and a food supply ... You can’t replace a centuries year old gum with a pretty deciduous speciesor a nice fir Even planting new natives won’t cover what is lost. It just doesn’t work like that. In the words of the title of a classic Little Golden Book I remember reading as a child... Where will all the animals go...?
