24.01.2022 As we look into 2021, we reflect on what has been a turbulent and challenging year 2020 has been. We had the pandemic impact our scouting program at Morley Scouts but together we navigated our way through. We went from meeting together in our hall, to doing Scouting@home where we all kept together as a group during that uncertain time. We stood together virtually during the Anzac Day service and embraced the new way of doing things online including online drumming lessons f...rom the UK. One thing that really stood out during this time was the resilience of our scouts and the ability for us to work together to overcome the challenges that were ahead of us. We were lucky that we got to meet together again in real life mid year and solidify our friendships again and do lots of exciting things together. We are thankful and appreciative for the hard work and dedication from our Leaders and Parents through this interesting year. We look forward to 2021 as we will be transitioning to the new programs to prepare our scouts to be resilient leaders and also have fun in the process. If your interested in joining us in 2021 please feel free to contact us on our facebook page. We welcome kids from ages 6-17 both boys and girls. Also if your interested in volunteering please let us know. See you in Feb 2021! #morleyscouts #newyear #never2late2Join

22.01.2022 Cleanup Crew Reporting In. On Sunday the Morley Scouts joined forces with Narc Dive Club to help them with their Annual Land and Underwater Cleanup of Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour. This is one of the largest events of its kind in the world where scuba divers, ocean users and other volunteer take to the waters and shoreline to remove tonnes of rubbish to make the ocean and our water ways a cleaner place.... Our Scouts did their part helping clean up the shoreline to ensure that the rubbish doesn't make its way into the water and damage our marine ecosystem. Big thanks also to the Morley Scout Parents who helped with cooking lunch for the Narc Volunteers who did a great job picking up tonnes of rubbish underneath the water in the harbour itself. #morleyscouts #doingit4dory #freocleanup #narc

03.01.2022 What's 'Knot' to love about Morley Scouts Today our scouts focused on their bushcraft, specifically their knots. The founder of Scouts Bayden Powell once said "Every Scout ought to be able to tie a knot. To tie a knot seems to be a simple thing, yet there are right and wrong ways of doing it, and Scouts ought to know the right way"... Our experienced scouts helped teach the scouts how to tie different types of knots, from the basics such as tying their shoe laces, to reef knots, bow lines and sheep shanks. After the session our younger scouts did a fantastic job and definitely got a sense of satisfaction of being able to tie their different knots. Great work by our Scouts and Ventures who helped our new members and younger scouts. #morleyscouts #knots #icantieshoes
