13.01.2022 Vitamin A: The Gold Standard Did you know that Vitamin A, or ‘Retinol’, is the only skincare ingredient that can claim that it is anti-ageing? Sure, there’s plenty of evidence supporting the anti-ageing abilities of other ingredients, but only Vitamin A has been so extensively clinically trialled over the last couple of decades with positive results that we can emphatically say YES, this really works! For that reason, Vitamin A remains the gold standard in skincare fo...Continue reading

11.01.2022 Let's Talk about S, Baby I will start by saying this: I did not get into the skin health industry to become a salesperson. I also didn’t go to college, uni, and all the skin courses in between to be good at selling. Or to make money out of selling products to people. As a customer, being sold to is a pretty awful feeling and it might tarnish a potentially great experience. As a skin therapist I personally would feel insulted if the person I was treating thought that I... was trying to sell products. When you come into the clinic with a skin concern wanting help, I will analyse and find a solution to your problem. More often than not, this will mean that you need a specific ingredient/s for a specific amount of time in order to correct the skin concern you want to get rid of. In my mind and in my heart, that is not selling. Instead, I am doing my job the best that I can and giving my client my knowledge, passion, care & experience and, at the end of the day, a solution to the problem they came in with. Nothing more, nothing less. There are no sales targets, budgets, goals, etc involved when we prescribe a product at the clinic. The reality is that we are not trying to make a quick buck out of you. ANY knowledgeable skin specialist will tell you that what you apply at home for good and for bad is the most important thing when it comes to achieving results. Yes, that’s right, even more important than our clinical treatments. This is how I see it: if you didn’t feel well and went to the doctor and explained your symptoms to them, you would expect them to give you a solution to your problem, right? They will advise what the best option would be for you, and they would never try to sell pills to you based on how cheap or expensive they might be. The doctor is just doing his/her job. I believe skin specialists also have a duty of care. I do understand, however, that some people might find it hard to trust a skin therapist. But don’t give up! There are many experienced, knowledgeable and loving therapists out there that just want the best for you and your skin goals We don’t sell, we prescribe and we recommend because we want you to achieve your skin goals and that is going to be hugely impacted by what you’re using on your skin at home. We have your best interests at heart, and we are simply giving you all of our expertise. We give you the same advice and solutions that we would give to our own family members if they came to us with a skin concern Sandra.

09.01.2022 How amazing is this transformation? #fibroblastskintightening we did a non-surgical #blepharoplasty on this lovely client

09.01.2022 Ingredients to Avoid: Talc Talc, known as hydrated magnesium silicate, is used in make up, body and skincare products as a cheap bulking agent for powdered and pressed products. It is used for its provision of softness, absorbance and anti-caking abilities. Possible side effects: ... May contain traces of lead which may pose health risks. Respiratory and skin irritation. Possible ovarian cancer carcinogen. Current scientific evidence indicates that inhalation of loose powder products containing talc such as baby, body, face and foot powders may cause non-cancerous lung effects such as coughing, breathing difficulties and decreased lung function. When inhaled, talc particles can be difficult to clear, accumulating as exposures continue, and can potentially lead to fibrosis A well-known company was ordered by a Missouri state jury to pay $72million of damages to the family of a woman whose death from ovarian cancer was linked to the use of the company’s talc-based baby powder Does that blow your mind?! You might want to check your powdered products and see if you’re using anything containing talc. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
