23.01.2022 Traditionally, Mornington Pirates play Frankston Tomatoes each year on the closest game day to April 25th, which would most likely have been today. 22.01.2022 Hi Pirates. Unfortunately Im not bringing positive news. The Dandenong Baseball Association has made the tough decision to cancel the 2020 season for both Junior and Senior competitions. In cancelling the season, all baseball activities will come to a stop, which means no more trainings, and the batting cage will be off limits for personal use.... So, there will be no training this Saturday morning, or Thursday evenings moving forward. In doing our part to minimise the spread of COVID-19, the Mornington Baseball Club completely support this decision, with the health and safety of our club members and wider community being paramount. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our committee for their tireless efforts in navigating these insanely difficult times, our coaches for their professionalism and flexibility when running the training sessions and most of all, our players and families, old and new, who have participated with such enthusiasm in each training session and continue to grow and develop our Family Club. While our doors will be closed for the time being, we look forward to working towards our summer season for 20/21. Please keep an eye on our Facebook and Team App for updates on this. In light of the announcement made by our Premier today, well be working closely with BV and the DBA to determine what a potential return to baseball activities looks like for the Mornington Pirates.... It is hard not to get excited by the announcements, however, Baseball Victorias conditions of no Club related activities or training is still in effect until further notice. Follow the link at the bottom of this post to find links for everything mentioned below ALL players who are training MUST register through SportsTG as per the usual process each season. This is currently FREE & only needs to be completed once. Then, please notify us of your intent to train by filling in the Google Form. This needs to be compl...eted by juniors and seniors before EVERY training to ensure we adhere to the number restrictions placed by the Victorian Government and Baseball Victoria Check TeamApp. The training schedule will be posted in the "2020 News" section & this is where youll confirm your training time for seniors, (juniors are always at the same time each week). 09.01.2022 Its been a rollercoaster of a year but Baseball is NOT over the Mornington Baseball Club in 2020! While were extremely disappointed we didnt get a chance to play Winter Baseball this season, we have exciting things to look forward to in the near future. Back in May we announced that, for the first time ever, the Mornington Baseball Club will field teams in the Victorian Summer Baseball League (VSBL). ... We aim for training to start in August, allowing ample lead time to get organised for a fun and successful inaugural season. 08.01.2022 In two weeks time our brand new (& some tiny) Pirate Little Leaguers will be playing their very first game of Baseball in the Friday night competition, followed by some seniors taking the diamond for the first time on the Sunday. That means only 4 more training sessions! We'll have an info session coming up for those new to Baseball which will include teaching parents & partners how to score And a Working Bee on Sunday 29th after training It's been fantastic to see everyone rally together to make this happen.
