23.01.2022 We are distressed and sad, but I cant sit idly with all this spare time without a small cry out for help. For man's best friend. So Im sorry for this upsetting photo, but without very strong feelings, even rage, people will continue to do nothing. Please post and twitter everywhere you can, tell FRIENDS to tell friends- please bear the discomfort, the truth hurts I surely know. Please speak up where you believe the Chinese law makers will hear about it. Please YELL OUT for the dogs and puppies. The next 10 day Yulin dog eating festival starts June 21. thank you.

20.01.2022 http://chng.it/hvmDV4HNrwys please sign this. With all the rural hideaways on Mornington Peninsula I strongly believe there is a lot of this abuse going on. Gumtree must stop advertising dogs for sale, or for free. Dog fighting causes immeasurable suffering to innocent captive dogs.

19.01.2022 Ive been studying sites about dog adoptions. Disgusted to see that RSPCA had ONLY TWO (big) dogs at one location, Pearcedale, and a handful at Burwood branch, on a given day! People donate lots of money/assets to RSPCA to help save dogs and cats! Lots! For what?! Despite any surge in adoptions during covid 19 (IF allowed to travel for an "essential" pet??), the fact is that thousands are euthanised each and every year. So WHERE ARE ALL THE DOGS THIS YEAR?! I just dont get it.... Small shelters have small number foster homes, for assessment, maybe some care, AND TO WAIT it out for a home - the lucky few that avoid death. Surely The ONE BIGGEST animal welfare group, funded by Govt too, should do a BETTER JOB! Better than the mum and pop home based rescue org's. (Truth is RSPCA are mostly focused on COMMERCIAL industries involving animals, Govt work.) Will someone please tell me, where are all the dogs?....and copious amounts of cats are that we allow to breed, then suffer, amongst us? Happy Easter!

18.01.2022 turn down the tv, your loud laughing will drown out the video sound.

18.01.2022 saw Animals Australia link to sign petition to ban the legal killing of wildlife in Oz, but I didnt, because I must give all my details including phone number, email! So they can chase me for donations? Save it for donation campaigns, the 'business' of 'collecting' support all the time, let us just SIGN a PETITION! AND why is there no 'search button' on their page?? Geez! I wanted to search any info about toxic plants for dogs! Not very helpful to animals if they make people... work hard with precious time, just to see what you have going on, or help to offer us etc! AND when I search the link 'how to help fire victims', all I find is links to Wildlife Vic, and a couple of SMALL SUBURBAN rescue groups (ie those who may pick up an an animal on our road etc!) REAL info about ground zero animal help is almost like it's secret! Yet they clearly ask for money for 'wild life carers'!! I have to ask what money does the lady with a joey in her kitchen (pictured) need MONEY for?? She is a VOLUNTEER! We see small odd VOLUNTEERS here and there, but where's the 'BIG ACTION' that the donations given to AA, and all the others, was/is for?? Show us the money! ie what it's for!! Where is it spent?! Maybe sending out printed booklets, fluffy toys, pretty pictures to our post boxes, to get MORE money from us?? Gourmet lunches for 'admin' to do their...'admin' while animals are left out there? Where is the CHARITY?

17.01.2022 Boy, do we need a laugh! Turn down the TV, so you can HEAR this video too - your laughing will drown out the sound! Enjoy! Gotta LOVE dogs!

16.01.2022 here is whats written on an Animals Australia link, re FINDING wildlife carers. It ONLY refers to NSW!!!! So much has been about NSW wildlife rescue...what about VICTORIA??! Bad effort by AA. How serious are they about wildlife? ........." Injured Wildlife ... CLICK HERE FOR ADVICE ON HOW TO HELP DURING THE BUSHFIRES If you find an animal that needs help, call a wildlife carer immediately and follow their advice. Click on your state to find the phone number of your nearest wildlife carer. Most have 24-hour hotlines so they are always available. Please don't send a wildlife carer an email, as every minute counts when you're trying to save an injured animal. You wouldn't email 000, would you? NATIVE ANIMAL RESCUE ASSISTANCE APP The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and the New South Wales Wildlife Council (NWC) have upgraded their Wildlife Rescue App which allows easy access to a directory of contact details in search for a licenced rescue and rehabilitation group for your location within NSW. Additionally, for the first time, it allows the user to report deceased animals, allowing wildlife rehabilitators to accurately monitor the cause of local deaths and identify danger hotspots, allowing for appropriate mitigation measures to be developed with local Councils.

15.01.2022 Watch this... https://twitter.com/i/status/1480497392831000577 Soooo heart-warming to see. My kind of Utopia is where we dont eat loving animals- they all have souls after all. And to think the science is showing us that farming livestock is in the TOP few causes for GLOBAL WARMING. Vegans, vegetarians now have a big agenda to help and influence. I didnt know until now that, despite human efforts to at least reduce palm oil consumption in so many products - not just food - li...vestock are fed palm oil! Sheesh, not much hope for those Orangutans.....or oxygen from the forests for all of us. Forests provide some cooling, oxygen, moisture, even medicine for us all over the world. They are soooo precious, why do we still destroy them, in the name of 'progress'? Sigh!!!!!..... Im fussy, but I found a really nice Tofu Satay I love...it really is a lot like chewing tasty chicken....slightly blackened/caramelized edges (would be fab in a stir fry too, or a 'vege' burger - hard to tell.) Way too many cows are destroying OUR habitat, we must AT LEAST reduce - eat less meat, not for even animals' suffering like so many folk - bless the gentle hearts, but to prevent our OWN suffering. I will get off my box now! Off topic I know...but I care about the global threat.... See more

14.01.2022 PLEASE dont forget that RSPCA is offering cats for $30 until Jan 30 (should be FREE). Please nudge others about this. Please encourage an elderly person to give a cat a home,,,,,even offer to pay for it, or most of all TAKE the elderly person to the shelter to adopt one...make it easy for him, her. They will never regret it, will find much happiness and companionship with a cat on the lap. Please help unwanted cats by helping others to adopt one if you can't. So many thousands are killed, it never stops. Even if the elderly might only have the cat for a few years, it's better than nothing. And older cats are the most un-wanted.

13.01.2022 https://www.change.org/p/stop-allowing-the-yulin-dog-meat-l Maybe dont watch video, but knowing the written info given is true, how can YOU NOT at least SIGN THE PETITION?! My blood boils after finding many photos online of the JOY, the LAUGHTER, that the people get from the pre-death torture! (FEAR and PAIN is part of the 'meal' - because the people BELIEVE that the more adrenaline at death, the better the meal! City of Shenzen recently passed a law to ban dog meat! Yay! ...WHO will CARE to POLICE and ENFORCE the law is another thing. I hope it's not just a gesture on paper, to appease the out-cries. We must keep up the pressure, as the voices around the world CAN end up making a difference. PLEASE sign and SEND this on! It may be use-less, but it CAN"T HURT! I wish the world would ALL agree, for ONE day, NOT to buy or consume ANYTHING from China, in a stand against eating dogs.....wildlife too perhaps. In my dreams. See more

12.01.2022 One reason people may not jump in to foster or adopt a pet from a rescue group is that it's a often requirement that the pet be brought back to the shelter, their vet, when it is so far away from the new home. If only the pet can be taken to THEIR local vet for the followup, it would be EASIER FOR A PET to find a home. If such a network was created, the 'system' can flow a bit faster - maybe save more lives. (And save precious time that most people dont have- even petrol cos...ts. Imagine an adopter having to drive fortnightly Rosebud to Burwood for example....in peak hour after work perhaps?) RSPCA in Pearcedale at least, fails to help dogs find homes. I've flicked to their adoptions site now and then for a long period of time- just a handful of dogs was/is the norm...and then sadly, they are mostly big dogs ( the most un-wanted of all.)

09.01.2022 Again, Im not happy with RSPCA. Checked their site to hopefully see big clear announcements about the 'cheap cats' to adopt in January, and save from the gallows - but NO. The panel with links to each State (obvious place to start I'd say) goes to the pages with NO sign, nothing, about their 'sale'. I phoned them and was told its evident if I click on another 'general' adopt button! Hello! They cant afford to make their site as useful as possible to save pets from death!? Bus...y tired people have to LIVE on the computer, and DIG around such sites, or not? It must be as EASY and CLEAR as possible to find a home for unwanted pets! Not just a hidden snippet! Why put it out there on TV etc about the 'sale' if they dont follow it up with up-front info on their site! Oh yeh, they like the 'advertising re how good they are' but barely walk the walk. If there are ANY animals in Australia who are most neglected, left 'for dead' its the PETS! We love chooks, we love cows, we love racehorses and greyhounds, but sheesh - loving needy PETS are being killed by the thousands, non- stop! Disposed of like trash, while WE ALLOW more and more to be born, taken 'home' then dumped - with MOST being KILLED, conveniently. It will always be my biggest gripe, that we let this happen. AND Gumtree is STILL advertising pets for sale- despite a huge petition on change.org.(I never see any RESULTS that may come from all the change.org petitions, despite my signatures or donations.) Todays whinge done. Happy 'Australia' Day. Adopt, not shop. See more

08.01.2022 heheee! did they use door-stoppers?

06.01.2022 Very sad to learn that a 4 week old puppy, 1 of 8, died during the night in the cold shed they were moved into. (Mother no longer allowed with them). Yesterday they had wood shavings put down to sleep on and they were allowed into the open section on the WET GRASS after rain all night. It was the coldest day in May for decades, with bitter winds. I want to warn anyone with pups - their immune systems are weak. Although wood shavings appears to be fairly common choice for bedd...ing (or more specifically for toilet area) I read on vet sites that wood shavings can be toxic- causing liver damage. (I would imagine such young pups would find it hard to get out of their mouths, and maybe get little bits in their eyes, even up their nose. If nothing else I'd say pneumonia got the puppy which slept damp and cold. So sad. The small breeder treats them like a commodity more than a sweet baby animal, which in the eyes of nature, should be snuggled with their mother- who knows just what to do and when. To boot they lose up to 4-5 grand in a sale...which is why these commodities are born into a country that has an big OVER-SUPPLY of pets. Money and self-indulgence - that is why we have too many dogs - dogs being put down because of US. See more

03.01.2022 A lovely Bengal cat needs a new loving home. She is about 8-9 yo. A rare and beautiful breed is the Bengal. Her owner died and his friend cant keep her, as she has 2 cats already in her small retirement village unit, with some frowning. Even if a kind person would mind her for a short period, allowing time to hopefully find her a home, it would be appreciated. We wont leave her any longer than you want- just say the word. She is used to only dry food. If you may be able to help, please say what suburb you are in.

02.01.2022 Authorities can be so anal about 'safety'...fearing any lawsuits is paramount. Having 'a tree fall on you' without you moving away from it, is less likely than being hit by a car. So, all this time the WILDLIFE has mostly been 'left for dead'. How many people donated TONS of money to wildlife rescue during fires, not knowing it didnt benefit the poor suffering animals? NOW they are starting to rescue some that survived! (but for the lucky few that were conveniently near to a ...road, workers or an un-burnt area to be hap-hazardly picked up last month.) Bet there's no details for the public about HOW MANY animals ARE in refuge care! Not many I'd bet....compared to the number of stricken animals left there. (and what there is are MOST likely cared for by needy volunteers.) If SAFETY was SO important for a person, then why are drunken teens allowed on the streets, to fall off stairs etc, kids left in suspected abusive homes, elderly left un-attended in nursing homes, African gangs allowed to hang around streets and keep committing the violent crimes, prisoners getting attacked inside, people allowed to swim in dangerous beach like Bondi, kids charge around on bikes, skateboards on shopping plaza paths, elderly can get multiple scripts from unaware doctors, blah blah! So many animals have died a slow death because it COULD be unsafe for someone! Animals dont really matter! Only money. If I see one more 'single cute koala' being saved on headline news, aaaawwww.....I'll vomit! "Show us the money"! Show us the animals that have been saved! Show us you care! See more

11.12.2021 Its after 3 pm (2pm without daylight saving) on New Years Eve, and it's said to reach up to 40 degrees today. Birds get very hot, hard to travel to find water, so please put a dish out - not in the sun but where they can see its reflection. I put a large flat dish, with a stick or rock half submerged, so the birds can jump in and out for a bath- nice to watch. Even little lizards who may exist in your habitat will reach in...and can climb out if need be. (Okay, so I chop a bi...t of tomato too for the blue-tongues, where I've seen them get around or sunbake in winter. I watch it gobble it up.) But Im here today to vent about the 2 poor horses I can see, in a dry paddock with NO trees or a shelter, to cook in the sun. YET other side of the fence is their other paddock just the same, nothing has changed there, with their 1 year old new shelter sitting there! They LOVE that shelter, even when the weather is okay - it's their place of rest obviously. They like to nap there together. I see NO reason why they cant be moved through the gate to the shade! Nothing has been going on in the vacant paddock, there is no 'new grass growth' being fostered. In the early morning I see them huddled under a bit of tree shade at the fence, but thats soon gone. The owners front door, carport, car washing, lawn sprinkling (middle of day in hot sun), bins, driveway....all are right near to see the 2 animals right there at the fence/tree.. They dont even notice, they DON'T CARE. Its just nice to see and say they have horses. I wish I could find out if it's considered to be cruel not to provide shelter for a horse/s? To me, it surely is......especially when they are locked away from their existing shelter....it's been weeks now. Grrrrr! See more

07.12.2021 I know this page is a ghost town, I will just say that we are in a big hole, and unable to do anything but the bare minimum. But I hope we can be more active and helpful, even in a small way, when life permits. Today Im here to say PLEASE TAKE EXTRA CARE OF YOUR PETS OVER SUMMER, AND WATCH OUT FOR OTHERS' PETS WHO MAY BE NEGLECTED. From keeping a caged bird away from the radiant heat of a window area, or direct sunlight, to locking your cat in the laundry on NYE (to avoid a r...unaway lost cat), this time of year can be tough on some pets. NYE can and does see dogs escape from homes when you think they could never get out, jumping fences etc. A bit of toilet cleaning in your laundry is much better than losing your pet. New Years Day usually sees the council pound OVER-RUN with lost, frightened pets. One more thing, I dont mean to patronise, but if you see someone walking a dog in the heat, and its tongue is way out, it's breathing is very rapid, then its very likely over-heated, which is a warning that HEAT-STROKE is very possible, which can kill a dog very quickly. (Poor pugs are very prone to such a demise). READ the dog's body language. Dragging behind on the lead, tail down, not looking around enjoying itself - I see so many walkers wanting a brisk walk for themselves, or running errands, while the poor dog is clearly reluctant, tired, or over-heated. My suggestion - turn back home to drop off the dog, and then continue your own exercise. And it goes without saying - if you see a dog left in a car on a very warm day, even with windows open - leave a note for the careless idiots! Dogs can't sweat to cool their bodies. Just pant. ESPECIALLY if they leave open window on just ONE SIDE of the car! BOTH sides need open windows for a CROSS-FLOW of air to pass through. (For a LITTLE help to reduce the heat.) I dont want everyone to like me - if it means a dog/pet suffers at their hand. Please stand up to help an animal- they can't help themselves. And many people just don't/can't read a dog's body language or facial expressions. On old friend who had a dog once said to me: "how do you know when a dog is happy?" ie it's face. Really!? There are images of SMILING dogs everywhere! Their happiness is what makes us happy. Gotta love dogs! See more

26.11.2021 https://fb.watch/8jmu32FTe4/ The world can be a very cruel place, but this is human kindness at its best. Enjoy.

17.11.2021 https://chng.it/qkHSmvMxCK Please sign this. Westfield couldnt care less about animals stored in their shops, but just maybe if we yell enough, a crack might appear in the wall. And it's not just about the puppy/kittens life while in the shops, where I very strongly doubt that air-conditioning is supplied overnight in those plastic boxes. For me, it's about the life they AND THEIR MOTHERS have in this breeding cycle. Needy nervous dogs are so often the result you get from the...se cute little puppies, which are soooo desirable as you pass the shop. Like that bicycle or handbag, it creates IMPULSE buying. And why do so many grown pets end up being dumped.......one very good reason is that, apart from sheer ignorance, apathy, and selfishness, the dog was 'grabbed' from a shop window because 'the kids would like it' or it's soooo cuddly, blah blah. See more

15.11.2021 I hate to say I knew it, but yes, RSPCA reports that about 70% of dogs adopted for 'covid cuddles' have been dumped....homeless again. When will people learn that a dog/pet is not a handbag, to be disposed of when tired of it! Aaaargh!

29.10.2021 I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but without awareness and much OUTCRY, the annual Chinese Dog Eating Festival in Yulin is coming up again. 10 days of barbarism from June 22, where delight is found in torturing dogs before consumption. No amount of global outcry will stop them. But we cannot just sit silently. Please speak up wherever you can. Dogs are man's best friend...

19.10.2021 Unfortunately I cant sign my objections to this animal cruelty, because I dont live in QLD. The video (I saw on twitter) is plain cruelty, in the name of sport! What, then let it grow up and have a good old Mexican style bull fight!? Horse racing pales in significance to this. Let's see how we can make a loud call for this to stop! At least try. Can you send this to anyone in QLD? https://secure.animalsaustralia.org/take_a/calf-roping-qld

30.09.2021 Couldn't have said it better...stop the bleeding at the source!

16.09.2021 all good, the lost lab's owner has been found.

01.09.2021 LOST DOG. Just now had a call from a shop in Rosebud, who has found a dog wandering around the street. They have it comfy and settled. If anyone has lost a choc brown labrador cross (with NO collar) please let me know asap. 0434008309

21.08.2021 To my mind, the answer is NO more kittens!! De-sexing should be free and mandatory! Willy nilly litters must be stopped! The cute kittens soon become cats......and the cats being trapped, caged, then killed - were ONCE kittens! I sooo love a cute kitten, but I love all animals, cats, and my heart and conscience will never allow me to get myself a kitten, or puppy. (and you dont know HOW HARD it is to stop wanting a toy poodle and/or a cavalier to love to death! No- when the day comes, I will get an adult rescue dog (but they seem to have disappeared these days).....in particular an old dog, as they are the most unwanted of all. So many dogs have been put down in the past simply because they are old. All they want is a warm bed, a feed, and a kind pat/cuddle.
