25.01.2022 COVID-19 Testing If you have any cold or flu symptoms (see below for further details), you should get tested, no matter how mild the symptoms are. You can also use the interactive self-assessment at the Victorian government’s website to determine if you should be tested based on your symptoms. If you are unsure, you can book a phone consult with one of our GPs - however, the advice is to get tested even if you have mild symptoms. 13.01.2022 Face Masks Wearing a face mask is now mandatory for the whole of Victoria, you must wear a face covering whenever you leave your home, unless an exception applies. A face covering needs to cover both your nose and mouth. It could be a face mask or shield. Exceptions include patients aged under 12, and people with certain medical conditions. Read more here about the rules and exceptions, plus information about how to make your own face covering and other tips. ... This means that all patients attending our clinic must wear a face covering (unless an exception applies). You must bring your own face covering - as you need to be carrying one with you when you leave your house. You will not be permitted to enter the clinic without a face covering (unless an exception applies). We have had some requests from patients seeking an exemption from having to wear a mask on medical grounds. Please note that our doctors will only grant such an exemption in very exceptional circumstances - our doctors cannot think of any of their regular patients who would need an exemption. Their advice to people who don’t think they can wear a mask (e.g. because they have asthma) would be to stay at home due to their especially high risk to COVID-19, including getting others to do their shopping or alternatively shopping online, certainly not leaving the house for school, work or exercise if you have such significant breathing issues. Staying at home means you will not need an exemption. If you do think you would qualify for an exemption, you can book a phone consult, but please note that it is very unlikely your request will be granted.
