25.01.2022 Can you answer YES to all of these questions? Do you know the two quickest ways out of every room? How your household will exit from upstairs if your home h...as a second storey? Do you have an agreed-upon meeting place outside, such as the letterbox? Who and how you will call Triple Zero (000) if there was a fire? If not, this weekend should be spent practising your home fire escape plan.

Spray the hose and connections with soapy water. If soap bubble appear you know there’s a leak! For more information see the CFA news link. https://news.cfa.vic.gov.au/-/don-t-let-a-dodgy-bbq-ruin-yo

15.01.2022 Yesterday Mornington CFA Volunteers were part of strike team 0869 assisting SES at eight locations on the Peninsula. Tasks included removing trees blocked driveways and helping with smashed fences. Many homeowners were elderly and needed assistance to clear the mess up. There was a lot of cleaning up as the trees had landed in backyards footpaths and roads. Well done to crew leader and chainsaw operator Scott seen here posing for a photo before donning his safety gear. Scott's crew also included Jo and driver Ross.
15.01.2022 Terrible news from our Victoria Police colleagues tonight. Thoughts are with their families.

07.01.2022 Today’s colouring page is a Tanker! The Tanker can be used for structure fires but was primarily designed for fighting bush fires. They have a larger tank of water to support fire fighting off road and away from mains water. Hoses, branches (nozzles), axes, chainsaws and other firefighting equipment are stored in lockers down the sides of the truck.

06.01.2022 As sad as it is, there are reports coming in of scammers posing as members of CFA door-knocking and asking for donations. Please do not donate to these door-knockers. If you wish to donate to the appeals please see a list below of recognised and registered appeals. At this time, organisations are requesting that no physical donations are made, as it is difficult to sort, process and distribute these, whilst financial contributions can be used to purchase exactly what is needed. Thank you all for your support.
06.01.2022 There's no rewind in real-life. Get it right the first time. What do a Sundya brunch or Sunday roast have in common? Left unattended they could end in disa...ster. Make sure if you are planning to dine-in this long weekend to never leave your cooking unattended and always supervise kids in the kitchen. See more
06.01.2022 Open letter to the Mornington Community, We welcome interest from members of our community in volunteering with CFA. We have received numerous enquires to join as a volunteer firefighter at our brigade. This is fantastic, we need more, however, please keep in mind a couple of things. If you apply to join us as a volunteer now, you won’t be fighting fires this season.... It takes a lot of training to become a firefighter. We need to make sure that people are equipped with the right skills and knowledge to stay safe and provide the right advice and assistance to the community under challenging and often dangerous circumstances. As you can imagine our Brigade along with many other emergency services are extremely busy at this time, so please be patient when contacting us, you might not hear from us for a while. Once things settle down, we will attempt to make contact then. This will be a very long season so please be patient with us. There are plenty of ways to help support the brigade while not being an operational firefighter, such as fundraising, community events etc. We sincerely appreciate members of our community wanting to step up and help their community. It’s why we do it. So, after the fire season we will be running a recruitment info session and encourage anyone wanting to join us to attend that. We’d still like to hear from you if you’re interested in joining us to train and qualify to assist us in future seasons. Express your interest via the CFA website, or drop us a Facebook Message To assist during this fire season, we encourage you to find out how you can help support fire-affected communities. Stay tuned and thank you for your continued support of our volunteers and all emergency services across the Country Thank you Scott 1st Lieutenant Mornington Fire Brigade.
05.01.2022 We know it can be hard to etrertain the kids in iso and with the school holidays being in full swing we thought we could help a little by posting some colouring pages for the kids over the next few days.
