24.01.2022 Thanks to Maggie G. for recently sending us a beautiful card with this quote from David Kessler... Each person's grief is as unique as their fingerprint. But what everyone has in common is that no matter how they grieve, they share a need for their grief to be witnessed. That doesn't mean needing someone to try to lessen it or reframe it for them. The need is for someone to be fully present to the magnitude of their loss without trying to point out the silver lining.

23.01.2022 The boys have been busy reorganising our office to accomodate very small family groups so that we can continue to support those in our community who need to say their final farewells to loved ones - in person. Lindsay Cameron has built some pretty smart looking planter boxes and we are supporting the local nurseries big time :) Our policies for social distancing and sanitation are well in place and we can invite families of up to six to take part in our Small Family Farewe...lls. Alternatively our No-service funerals can take place now and be followed up later with memorial services. We wish you and your loved ones good mental and physical health at this time of great change.

21.01.2022 While our clinical care facility is still located in Dromana, this new office makes it much easier for people to find us! We are just across the road from the McCrae Yacht Club and the lighthouse. For the past few weeks Andrew and I have been busy painting, patching and pinning up prints to make the reception rooms feel and look cosy and relaxing. Open MonFri 9am5pm or other times by appointment. We can always be reached 24hrs/7days by phone.

20.01.2022 In light of the current health risks associated with large gatherings, many people are opting to have their loved ones cremated without a formal service with the plan to hold a memorial service at a later stage. However, we are mindful that some families will always need to say goodbye in person and for that reason, we are offering to accommodate small family gatherings at our Dromana offices. Please feel free to call us anytime on 59820086 for an obligation free chat. #morningtonpeninsulafunerals

18.01.2022 On 2nd July we had the honour of conducting a farewell for McCrae resident, Mr Len W. Len's wife Rosemary has requested that we let people know how the Safety Beach Sailing Club, with its light, open space and brilliant views, helped to ease her grief on the day, and make Len's service a positive experience for her two young grandsons. Thank you to @safetybeachsailingclub for allowing us to conduct family friendly services at your beautiful venue. More on this story at https://www.mpfunerals.com/testimonials/

17.01.2022 Many thanks to Donna at the stunning Tanglewood Estate for hosting two of our funerals this past week. The chapel and surrounding grounds are so very peaceful and welcoming.

12.01.2022 Congratulations to Dave and his fabulous team at Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron for their spectacular hospitality support yesterday - accomodating more than 300 attendees across the two funerals we conducted. It was a huge day for all concerned; Bill and team at Bill Lowe Events did an amazing job of audiovisual production throughout the venue. Beautiful venue, well set up and of course thanks to Mother Nature for putting on such perfect weather.

07.01.2022 On Wednesday 26th May 2021, we hosted our inaugural evening of Remembrance, Celebration and Support at Safety Beach Sailing Club. Many who attended expressed their deep gratitude for the opportunity to pay further respects and remember their loved one with a candle-lighting ceremony, and to receive beautiful words of comfort. Our next event will be hosted in the lead up to Christmas. ... If you would like to join us in December, to pay tribute to a lost loved one, please visit our events page to learn more. https://www.mpfunerals.com.au/events See more

06.01.2022 At Bentons Square today providing information and chocolates to local shoppers. We are situated between Mercedes and BMWs inside the shopping centre (which feels odd) and while most people are more interested in those vehicles than ours - we’ve spoken with some lovely people today who were grateful for our advice. Back here next Friday to hand out booklets and more chocolates! If you’re in Mornington / Mount Martha please come down and collect an info pack.

04.01.2022 32 years ago, after a valiant battle with lymphoma, my father's final wish was that he could die at home. We couldn't grant his wish then, but fortunately for many in our region, help is at hand for those wanting the opportunity to die with dignity and peace in their own familiar surroundings. Learn about PHH in our latest blog: https://www.mpfunerals.com.au//dying-at-home-with-dignity/

03.01.2022 It's heartwarming to receive positive feedback from families we have been able to help and support. Thanks to Mrs T.H. for taking the time to send us your lovely message.

03.01.2022 Best way to avoid getting Corona virus? A big dose of Vitamin Sea! It was a bit chilly getting in, but well worth it!

02.01.2022 The health measures we are being advised to follow at present are all well and good ... but there are other important measures not talked about so widely that could help us to stay healthy in the midst of the current pandemic. Find them in our Blog https://www.mpfunerals.com.au/blog/ #morningtonpeninsulafunerals

15.11.2021 Beautiful Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron - a perfect venue to farewell a loved one on the Peninsula. Especially for old sailors, but really - for anyone who appreciates our wonderful environment.

06.11.2021 Just read a great article posted in The Guardian newspaper about the importance of humour: One 15-year Norwegian study of more than 50,000 people found that those with a strong sense of humour lived longer than those who scored lower. Another study of recently bereaved people showed that those able to laugh when recalling their loved ones reported less anger and less distress. ... We have noticed this from time to time during funeral arrangement meetings and funerals. Even during the most distressing situations, some families have reflected on a funny story related to their loved one and the atmosphere in the room has lifted. It didn't change what happened, it just made everyone feel a bit brighter. If he was still with us, my Dad's would've celebrated 93rd birthday yesterday. He left us 33 years ago and yet I still like to call Mum on the 14th of January and reminisce. Dad had such a great sense of humour. One of his best legacies, and surely the thing that has helped me over the years was the ability to see the bright, and sometimes funny, side of things. For those who've ever lost someone near and dear, whether it be just last year or way back, I hope that you have many wonderful memories of something funny they did or said to help boost your spirits, and your 'happy hormones'. If you have ten minutes, grab a cup of something warm today and have a read of this great article... https://getpocket.com//you-ve-got-to-laugh-why-a-sense-of-

02.11.2021 Traditionally a symbol of remembrance for those who passed in WW1, today I post them here as a tribute to all who have lost loved ones during 2020. It's certainly been a tough year for many families around the world. You may have one less occupied seat at your table, but we know that your person will be uppermost in your hearts and minds. Thank you to all of you who have trusted us this year . Our thoughts are with you all this Christmas and we wish you well in 2021.... Julie and Andrew

28.10.2021 Today we’re in Tyabb researching another new funeral venue. #peacockestate - beautiful old chapel, fabulous amenities inside or outside reception area. It’s in Tyabb. Will be putting photos and more information on our website this week.

13.10.2021 Last Friday we conducted a funeral and burial amid wild stormy weather. Today we have sunshine. #Verygrateful to be living in this lucky country even with the restrictions and this odd ball weather :).
