Rosie will discuss paper supports, different types of watercolours, inks and brushes, her use of water as a resist and blending medium, and ways to integrate other drawing materials. You might like to work with collected organic f...orms from your garden, an idea you’ve been playing with, or an abstract image. Suitable for all abilities. During a month-long residency at the Police Point AiR in 2019, Robyn captured Rosebud’s post-war suburbia with her painting 'Between two worlds'. 16.01.2022 {Yawa Aquatic Centre Artist Expression of Interest} Mornington Peninsula Shire is dedicated to supporting the development and exhibition of new contemporary art in public spaces. The Shire’s Arts and Culture Plan 2020-2024 strongly reflects the voice of our community and sets a vision for encouraging a rich, inclusive and vibrant culture on the Mornington Peninsula. The Mornington Peninsula Shire seeks to engage an artist through a competitive EOI process to create a series... of photographic works to be presented in the new Yawa Aquatic Centre in March 2021 for a period of twelve months. Located on a prominent wall within the entrance of the Centre, this exhibition space aims to: Celebrate and champion the work of a local artist; Promote awareness and appreciation of our creative communities; and ensure that our public spaces are stimulating and engaging for visitors. Yawa which means swim, or to swim, is a local Indigenous word endorsed by the Bunurong / Boon Wurrung Traditional Owners, which draws on a local language that reflects over 40,000 years of history. The successful artist will develop work that draws inspiration from the Mornington Peninsula, its rich culture and heritage, expansive natural environment and local stories. The successful artist will be awarded $5,000. This opportunity is only available to artists who live within the boundary of Mornington Peninsula Shire. Over the past 50 years the Collection has grown to include over 1800 objects, including paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures.
