22.01.2022 Excursion Update Friday 6th November Year 3 Seaworld excursion is running on time for their return to school. Expected arrival around 3.30pm.

21.01.2022 Transition Day - Yeronga SHS Year 6 Students that have enrolled at Yeronga SHS for 2021, are invited to attend a Transition day on Friday 4th December to prepare for 2021. Parents are responsible for dropping off and picking up on this day. If your child is attending this day, please notify your childs teacher or the office so that the roll can be marked correctly. Thank you!



20.01.2022 Across the country NAIDOC Week celebrations will be held from the 8-15 November. This year the national NAIDOC theme Always Was, Always Will Be. recognises that First Nations peoples have occupied and cared for this continent for more than 65,000 years. During NAIDOC 2020, we’ll be shining a spotlight on the stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders as they share their insights and reflections on the significance of Always Was, Always Will Be.

17.01.2022 Parent swimming Carnival update P - 2 Swimming Carnival: Tuesday 1st December (Week 9) Children will have the opportunity to swim in freestyle and backstroke swimming races. Year levels will be broken up into separate sessions of the day. Times are listed below:... Prep: 9.00am 10.50am Year 1: 11.30am 1.00pm (including Year 1 in class) Year 2: 1.50pm 2.55pm ( including Year 2 in class) Parents are welcome to attend but are to adhere to socially distancing guidelines. We will have limited seating, therefore it will be a first in, best dresses basis. Once we reach capacity for parents and cannot socially distance appropriately anymore, we will have to close the entry to any more parents. Year 3 - 6 Swimming Carnival: Thursday 3rd December (Week 9) Children will have the opportunity to swim in 25m and 50m freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly races. To swim in 50m age champion events, children need to qualify through time trials in their PE swimming lessons. There are only 6 girls and 6 boys in each age group to do these races. Children compete in their age group and the age they are turning in the calendar year. Parents are welcome to attend but are to adhere to socially distancing guidelines. We will have limited seating, therefore it will be a first in, best dresses basis. Once we reach capacity for parents and cannot socially distance appropriately anymore, we will have to close the entry to any more parents. Any parents/community members that attend the swimming carnivals will have to sign our COVID register at the swimming pool entry, and hand sanitiser will also be made available. Today we would like to recognise and say a special thank you to all our Tuckshop volunteers and our fantastic Tuckshop convenors Federica and Natsuki, for the outstanding job they do with providing healthy lunches for our staff, students and community. Without all of your support, we would not have a Tuckshop at Moorooka. We would also like to acknowledge the wonderful P&C, who support these wonderful individuals. You play such an important role at our wonderful school and we appreciate you all.
