Anglican and Catholic faiths celebrate communion (mass) every Sunday, and when I was a boy growing up in the Presbyterian faith it rural NSW, communion was quarterly. 22.01.2022 CHARLESTOWN and GARDEN SUBURBS Uniting Church Presents This is the sixth service to be recorded so we can still worship while complying with the physical isolation requirements. It is becoming quite a while, even though the first one seemed like yesterday. One thing I notice is today is a lot colder than when prepared our first recording. I met a wonderful woman not so long ago through the Hunter Community Alliance (the community organising you may have heard about). Teresa Brierley is the Director of Pastoral Ministries for the Catholic Diocese of Maitland/Newcastle. She sent all the Alliance people a video, which I liked so much I told her I would share it with my congregation. The idea has seen local church ministers, congregations, and tertiary students join with Uniting Residential Aged Care, Chaplains, and a local Men’s Shed to make hundreds of beanies for those sleeping rough in Winter.... This level of support will make a wonderful difference for the vulnerable in our community during the pandemic.
