20.01.2022 Attention Parents and other spectators. The SANFL sent all clubs a lengthy email yesterday clarifying the situation for finals with regards to COVID. We are passing on the most important information as briefly as we can, so please dont "shoot the messenger". The fines are quite significant if we are caught breaching the rules!... 1) "SA Health stipulates that only players and officials have access to the oval/playing arena, therefore spectators are NOT permitted on the ground for kick & catch or post-match presentations/celebrations." 2) Changerooms : "As per minor rounds, access to changerooms should be limited to essential personnel only (players, coaches and support staff). No access for nonessential personnel such as anyone who is considered a spectator (ie: board/committee members, sponsors), anyone whose match day role doesnt support player preparation or recovery or the media. Density limits must be observed. Changerooms should only be used for changing, showering and very brief team addresses. There is to be no loitering and strictly no consumption of food or alcohol inside changerooms is permitted." We all need to do the right thing. Your COOPERATION with all of this, combined with your positive SUPPORT for our U16.5 team and RESPECT towards the opposition and all umpires, as per the Codes of Conduct will be greatly be appreciated tomorrow. GO ROOS.

11.01.2022 To our Roos family So in what feels like the blink of the eye, sadly the seasons now over for 3 of our 4 senior teams. Our Mens A-Grade bowed out in last weeks elimination final against Walkerville at Walkerville in what in hindsight was pretty much their 3rd elimination final in a row, having to have won their last 2 games to qualify. It was disappointing to bow out of the finals race but the boys, under Tony & Steves program, have made great strides this year and will l...Continue reading

05.01.2022 Vale Kath Daniels The Morphettville Park Football Club is saddened by the passing of Kath Daniels on the 14th September 2020. Kaths long association with the club began in 1977 when Brenton Rocky Daniels joined the Under 15s and dragged out Mum and Dad (the late Laurie Daniels) to the Club.... Kath and Laurie were both stalwarts of the Club through the 80s and Kath was a valued member of the Fundraising Committee spending countless hours working in the canteen on game day, supplying the masses with her legendary Pea Soup. Our love and sincere condolences are with Rocky and sister Michelle at this sad time the Club is a better place for having had quality people such as Kath involved with it! Funeral Details to be advised.

04.01.2022 Another new signing for the club Bayley Smith. Bayley comes to us via PHOS/Camden junior grades and most recently at SANFL level with Sturt Football Club U18’s. He is an 18 year old 6’4 key position player who is known for his long and accurate kicking and was the leading goalkicker when playing juniors at PHOS/Camden. Bayley is the younger brother of Jesse Smith so its going to be great to see the boys playing together and having long and successful careers at our club. Bayley is a fantastic young man and I look forward to seeing him transition into senior football under our program.

04.01.2022 Welcome back Matthew Wolfenden. Its great to announce the return to the club of highly rated junior Matthew Wolfenden. Matthew is a talented 16 year old 6’0 defender / wingman who had a decorated junior career at our club playing over 100 games where he regularly finished top 3 in the best and fairest counts. Whist he has spent the last two seasons away from the club, Matthew sees a return to the club as being most beneficial in progressing his development with a desire to... one day being drafted into the AFL. Matthew will be training with Glenelg Football Club over the summer and aspires to secure a regular spot in their U18’s. Should this not happen, he will be welcomed back to our club where he will play at senior level. Matthew has a fantastic attitude and is an excellent cultural fit for our group. Its also great to welcome the Wolfenden family back to the club. Steve Nolis A-Grade Coach

02.01.2022 To our Roos family Well what a great weekend of footy that was for our Club. Our B-Grade girls went in as underdogs against SMOSH but that didnt matter, not only did they win, they belted them and went Back-to-Back, which is a great achievement. See Bails wrap up below. Our other live finalists, the U/16.5 boys also won by enough against Marion to end up top after the minor round, by just 1.3%. It just goes to show that pushing to the end in all games across a season can ...Continue reading

02.01.2022 If you took any photos of ladies day would love for you to share them with us.

01.01.2022 To our Roo family, Please see below some correspondence received from the President of the Walkerville FC. Can anyone heading out to watch the mens A-grade final tomorrow, please have a read of the below and make sure you respect their rules and dont let yourself or our Club down. ... Lets all make sure its a great day had by all as we hopefully cheer the boys onto an exciting win! Dear all, Just a quick note to extend our welcome to you for this Saturday and let you know of a couple of housekeeping issues, mainly related to COVID and our liquor licence. Our liquor licence obviously covers our clubrooms, but it also covers the grassed area either side of the clubrooms for liquor purchased at the Club. There is no BYO coverage in our licence. All other areas of our facility are dry zones which basically means the eastern side of the oval. We have had a few issues over the years with our local council in regards to our licence and they have made it very clear to us they expect us to adhere to the licence and dry zone conditions. Whilst we are not in the business of policing every person who comes to our oval can you please let your members and supporters know that these rules really mean no BYO to Walkerville. Again whilst we will not be overly active in checking everyone who attends we have been informed the police will be making periodic visits to make sure we are adhering to Social distancing (including patrons sitting down whilst consuming) and our licence conditions. As a result of the above pressures we will have volunteers manning the Smith Street gate that cars can enter, to get access to the outer-wing car park(eastern side of oval). There will be a $5 entry fee per car and cars will be checked for BYO. We have a number of entry points to our oval, which we cannot physically man but as a result of point 1 we need to show we are at least making an attempt to adhere to licencing conditions. Given our canteen/bbq area can get quite busy, to try and minimise numbers for social distancing purposes we are setting up a 2nd BBQ and Bar on the Western side of the oval, but towards the city end goals. We will also have plastic chairs here also, given the rules around sitting down whilst consuming food and drink etc. This is just an FYI When all is said and done we just hope everyone has a good day at the footy, and would hate to have an incident where police attend and cause some issues for spectators in the Dry zones. As I mentioned, we are not going to be checking every person that comes to the game, but we have been warned so we feel we at least need to make an effort to adhere to these rules (hence the manned gate to the eastern outer wing carpark) and out of courtesy let the non-Walkerville clubs know. Any questions please let me know and I hope you enjoy your day at the footy on Saturday. Ryan Curry President Walkerville Football Club.
