22.01.2022 Merry Christmas everyone

21.01.2022 Hello everyone, we have good and bad news. Recently we have seen a decrease in community members needing emergency relief. This is fantastic and all and organisation like us could ask for. That's the good news. The bad news is that because we don't have people coming in, we will be closed on Monday's and Fridays until further notice. A reminder of our services still on offer Tuesday to Thursday:... - tax help with Greg (Thursday) - Hair Dressing with Kat (Thursday) - Orange Sky Laundry (Thursday) - For a limited amount of time Counselling with Kelly (Tuesday and Wednesday). - Hall Hire - Computer and Printer use - Emergency Relief See more

17.01.2022 Hi everyone, two things. Morris House would like to give a big thank you to the Sunshine Coast Council for providing us with the emergency COVID-19 grant. This support has allowed us to continue providing support to our community during these difficult times. And two, we would also like to give a big thank you to the Cr. Baberowski discretionary funds, who have also provided us with the opportunity to upgrade and repair our disability access ramp at the back of the building.... Unfortunately, the wood in the ramp went rotten and has been out of service for several months. Now, with these funds, we are able to rebuild the ramp and make Morris House accessible once again. Without the support of our council, operations here at MH wouldn't happen, so thank you. Hope everyone has a great day

17.01.2022 Ann and Ken were nominated for seniors of the year, they may not have taken the top place, but to us, they're No. 1. Congratulations guys, well deserved.

16.01.2022 Morris House Neighbourhood Centre would like to thank Landsborough Pub for the donation of potatoes and carrots to our emergency relief program. This is very much appreciated, especially given that the Landsborough Pub is among those who can no longer trade and so will be facing considerable hardship. we would also like to thank Caloundra Anglican Church, Glasshouse Anglican Church Food bank, and Landsborough Seventh Day Adventist Church for their amazing donations of food and other items for our ER program. Also a big thank you to the 2 unknown ladies who dropped in last week and left bags of groceries for those in need. Thank you all.

05.01.2022 Hi everyone, In a meeting that occurred last Tuesday night, a member of LACA brought certain community issues to light that they think could fuel a community discussion. Before those issues are discussed, we first want to make it clear that this is a safe place and violent, abusive language will not be tolerated. We just want opinions so we can bring them up with our local member next month. So the issue was the untidiness of Landsborough. Some areas of concern are as followe...d: Gympie St North the previous animal pound- left un-mowed and in a very derelict condition. The footpaths along Old Landsborough Road- only a small amount is mowed and the rest of the grass on the edge is left very long and untidy. Buildings purchased by TMR in Dyer Street and Caloundra Street have been left un-mowed, also the footpaths outside these properties (which were probably mowed by the previous tenants) have been left un-mowed. Dyer Street has been mowed by council but was left covered in mulch. The sides of the road in Old Landsborough Road are overgrown and untidy until you get just outside Beerwah when it’s all nicely mowed and tidy. These are just some of the spots of concern, there are also other issues attached to them such as being a breeding ground for snakes. LACA would like your opinion, so next month they can have a conversation with council. Thanks everyone

05.01.2022 Morning folks, Until the 11th November Kelly will be offering free counseling to those struggling, feeling down or just need someone to talk to. Wishing everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy new year, may 2021 be better then 2020 :)

03.01.2022 If your kids are about to head back to school and you’re worried about how to pay for things like school uniforms, books, laptops and other supplies, think NILS rather than pay day loans. NILS is the No Interest Loan Scheme run by Good Shepherd Microfinance and it’s ideal for people on low incomes. Loans are available for up to $1200 for back-to-school supplies. Contact Morris House 5494 1255 or [email protected] #backtoschool

03.01.2022 HEALTH WARNING If you are experiencing symptoms that are listed in accordance with the WHO for Cronovirus, or are generally feeling under the weather, please call before coming to Morris House. For health and safety reasons of both staff and other clients we may ask that you do not come to MH and that you follow the guidelines Queensland health suggest for treatment and isolation.

01.01.2022 A week to go until the Landsborough Twilight Gathering on Friday 24 January. It’s a FREE event to kick off the Australia Day long weekend so mark it in your cal...endars and come on down! The Landsborough Twilight Gathering is the third gathering of the Landsborough community hosted by Landsborough - Love Where We Live and the Landsborough Hall. The purpose of these events is to provide a fun, casual way for people in the Landsborough community to get together and get to know each other. The feedback from the brunch and afternoon tea events held last year was fabulous and people wanted more. As always, there will be food, games, drinks and live music. Pull up a seat at the ‘long table’ or find a spot in front of the music, grab a burger or BYO picnic. There is something for everyone and it promises to be a great night out! Check out the Events page for more details and we'll see you there!
