25.01.2022 Last week, Mort & Co announced its entry into the Australian stockfeeds market with the launch of its new division, Mort & Co Stockfeeds. The new venture compliments our existing core business offerings, and will enable us to enhance support for Australian livestock and grain producers, regional communities and local employment. 25.01.2022 It has certainly been a different type of year, but that hasn't stopped us engaging with our customers. From phone calls and emails, to skype and zoom, the Mort & Co Meat team have been working around the clock to keep customers happy and the beef moving to market. 25.01.2022 Mort & Co Livestock Buyer, Bill Burton, recently visited the Magner family on their property 'North Riverton', near Texas, QLD. The Magner family are part of Mort & Co's backgrounding partnership program, developed to assist graziers in utilising available grass or crops. Pictured is Richard Magner with his daughter, Tia, as they inducted a new group of F1 Wagyu weaners.

Now in its 11th year, the local event raises funds for BreastScreen Queensland Toowoomba Service. 21.01.2022 Mort & Co were delighted to once again sponsor 'Run the Range', which took place in Toowoomba yesterday. Over 500 competitors tackled the gruelling event, which required them to complete a 7km or 15km course. It was wonderful to see the competitive spirit and camaraderie on show throughout the day.... A big shout out to all the event organisers for making the day possible, and well done to our fearless Mort & Co team members who took on the challenge.

18.01.2022 Mort & Co has claimed two gold and a bronze at the 2020 Perth Royal Food Awards. In the company’s first tilt at the title, Phoenix Beef brands Master Selection (Class 5 - Export Beef) and The Phoenix (Class 3 - Wagyu AUS-Meat marbling score 5+) were crowned champions, while Grandchester (Class 1 - Grain Fed Beef) picked up a bronze medal. What great news to start the week!

18.01.2022 It was the end of an era last week at Mort & Co with long time team member, Jill Moore, taking long service after almost 21 years. Jill has seen plenty over her time, and has been pivotal to the success of the business. Mort & Co wish to thank Jill for her outstanding contribution. After that long, she certainly deserves some rest and relaxation! ... Congratulations Jill!

16.01.2022 Sometimes it's good to get a different perspective on things. Here's a birds-eye view of Grassdale Feedlot and Grassdale Farm. It has certainly grown since it was opened in 2007... the only way to fit it all in a photo these days is by plane!

16.01.2022 Construction and development are just part of day to day operations across all Mort & Co sites. The latest infrastructure addition is a new 17m high lime silo, which is currently being installed at the Grassdale feedmill. Some serious crane support was called upon to get all the pieces into place. Setup should be complete by the end of the week with commissioning to follow.

11.01.2022 Our Pinegrove team celebrated Christmas with a festive smoko thanks to Dimity Tamini and Anthony Dyson! The team that was rostered on for the day, were joined by some who had the day off to help celebrate the occasion. A lovely way to add some Christmas cheer to our daily operations!

08.01.2022 Mort & Co Livestock Leading Hand, Corinne Anderson, has plenty on her plate at Grassdale Feedlot. As part of her day to day duties, Corinne runs regular horsemanship clinics at site for team members. Having recently won the JR Cutting Competition, Corinne's expertise and knowledge is something that she is always happy to share. Here she can be seen working on some skills with Stuart O'Toole.

07.01.2022 Mort & Co Livestock Buyer, Jack Wilkinson, has been in Theodore this week, catching up with backgrounding partners Brian and Robbie Wagner at their property, 'Whitwell'. 800 Brahman and Brahman cross steers are being rotated on the property and will enter Grassdale Feedlot in October.

06.01.2022 Late last week, Mort & Co were delighted to host Toowoomba Regional Councillors Nancy Sommerfield, Melissa Taylor and Rebecca Vonhoff at Grassdale Feedlot. Charlie Mort (Chairman), Stephen O'Brien (CEO), Scott Braund (GM Feedlots & Farms) and Marcus Doumany (Grassdale Feedlot Manager) were on hand to provide the Councillors with a guided tour around the site.

06.01.2022 It has been all hands on deck for the Mort & Co farm team of late. Around 1250Ha of winter crop will be harvested across our Grassdale and Pinegrove sites. 03.01.2022 Mort & Co launched the 'Beef Up On Safety' initiative last year. Due to circumstances, the 2020 event went digital, with teams from across the business required to put together their own dance, jingle or skit. High calibre submissions were fielded from all teams, with the Mort & Co Board entrusted with deciding the winners. ... We are delighted to announce that the 2020 Beef Up On Safety Champions are...
