21.01.2022 Mortdale Fire Station is happy to announce that Santa will still be able to be seen in our community this evening. Even Santa must follow advise by the Health Department and needs a "COVID Safe Plan". Unfortunately this means Santa will not be allowed to leave the fire truck to give lollies and get photos with the kids. If parents could please not allow kids to run on the street close to the truck- rather keep a social distance and remain on the footpath- We are sorry we cannot maintain normal tradition but due to the circumstances this is the best outcome for all...

18.01.2022 WHAT IS AN EAST COAST LOW? - Bureau of Meteorology Wet and windy conditions are expected for parts of eastern NSW early next week, particularly coastal area...s, with the likelihood of a Coastal Low developing, and potentially an East Coast Low. Such a system could bring severe weather to some coastal regions between Sunday and Wednesday. This includes the possibility of heavy rainfall, road and riverine flooding, damaging winds strong enough to bring down trees and powerlines, and large seas resulting in dangerous beach conditions and potential coastal erosion. This is a dynamic system, so there is still uncertainty with the exact positioning, movement and strength of the low. Know your weather. Know your risk. Make sure you stay up to date with the latest forecasts and warnings on our website http://ow.ly/Qv7c50AuDuP Both Coastal Lows and East Coast Lows display cyclonic circulations and can bring severe weather, however East Coast Lows are more intense systems that can last for several days, as opposed to Coastal Lows that usually have a much shorter duration. Watch the Bureau’s video to learn more. Receive updates and SMS Alerts for this system. Register at www.nswincidentalerts.com
