25.01.2022 It’s a beautiful sunny day at DC Farran oval for the Qualifying Final in the WDFNL. Best of luck to all teams. Thanks to all our volunteers especially our rec reserve committee, the Moyne Shire, Eddie Harris, John Madson, Allan Parsons and to Nathan Jones and the Mortlake College kids for all their hard work getting the oval ready. The ground is looking a treat.

23.01.2022 The Rec Reserve has a campaign on to raise funds for our lighting project through sponsorship from our local businesses. Hopefully within the next 6 months we will have new 200 Lux lights which will light our oval for night football, cricket and all sorts of community events. So Thankyou to our existing sponsors the Mortlake Roadhouse and Jacob D Signs and to the two new sponsors Elders (Mortlake) and Hammonds Paints. Plenty more room in our shed for any other businesses to show their support for our local sporting facility

22.01.2022 So despite the terrible weather we had great numbers at our Come and Try night last night. We had representatives from at least 7 different cricket clubs in the district which was fantastic and over 50 visitors . So dont forget about the next night on Fri 29th June. Thanks to Simon Ritchie and his helpers at the Mortlake Cricket club for all their help.

19.01.2022 We are still having problems at our oval and surrounds with dog poo. So please a reminder that we love to have walkers and casual users with their dogs (not on game day) but you must pick up after your pooch please. We are hoping to install the bag dispensers in the near future.

29.11.2021 Thank you so much to our hard working committee and the cricketers that turned up to help at our working bee this morning. We had great numbers and got heaps done. The surrounds are looking great. Works are still in progress on the oval to instal the new sprinkler system. Todd Lamont is slaving away with the contractors trying to get it all finished this week. Please don’t enter the oval surface at least for a few weeks. For those that missed out at the working bee today don’t worry there is a heap of rocks to be picked up after works are completed. Many hands make light work
