21.01.2022 *All Lights now sold* Purebred Light Sussex Bantam pullets, approx 9 months old, all are laying $60 each, good quality but I will not describe them as show quality as that term is subjective. Also have some Lavender Sussex Bantam pullets available, same age, same price. Happy to help organise transport if needed.

20.01.2022 Spring means chicks are hatching - lights, coronations and lavenders popping out each week... should have plenty for sale in a few months time.
19.01.2022 Apologies for no recent posts but with the ongoing drought and now catastrophic bushfires all around us, we have just been too busy for many poultry activities. We have hatched a few chicks but only about a quarter the number of what we would normally produce. We have bantam Sussex chicks in light, lavender, coronation, and a few silvers too. Some of these will become available for purchase in 5-6 months time once they reach maturity. When they are ready, we will post them on here. We will not be taking pre-orders as I dont have time to keep up with it all along with feeding cattle on three properties. I am sure you all understand.

Quiet and friendly girls, economical to feed, on average lay 5 eggs a week and will for 5-6 years or more. Can meet at Telegraph Point for pick up or can meet carrier if required.
18.01.2022 2019 will see the end of production of Large Light Sussex here at Morton Estate. There are numerous reasons for this, and it will be sad to see them go as we have thoroughly enjoyed breeding the big fowl. A few young stock will be available in June/July once they mature but for now *due to buyer default* we have available this beautiful top quality trio, proven breeders, big birds (ckl is 5+kg) all in their first year of production. POA to genuine inquiries only who are willing to pay for quality. PS we will continue to breed bantam sussex.....

15.01.2022 The end of an era.... The last of our Large Light Sussex headed for new homes last week, including this special cockerel. Ten years of breeding the large birds, we are proud to have sold to every State and Territory across Australia. We will continue with the bantam Sussex for a while yet....however if you are wanting large Sussex we can point you in the right direction to some dedicated breeders who are continuing our line.
