23.01.2022 We are here for our community once again throughout the recently announced Victorian lockdown to take effect for 7 days from Friday 28th of May. We are considered an essential service by Government and this means our retail shop will be open as normal and mail and parcel deliveries will continue to be carried out. As per the applicable Covid-19 rules, customers visiting our shop are required to wear a mask and maintain a 1.5m social distance from others.... Bill payments, banking and all your sending needs are available at our store during the lockdown. Please do not visit our store if you are unwell. A potential unintended consequence of people coming in that are showing symptoms could mean that if any cold, flu or other infection is passed on to any of our staff we must get tested and isolate until given the all clear. This would mean the closure of the business during that isolation time, hence our request to not come in if you are unwell. This may seem somewhat forward to some however this is the potential reality of the situation. Keep safe.

We are not paid to work Saturdays but we feel committed to the task of getting it done. 17.01.2022 We’d like to recognise and applaud the great staff at the ANZ Bank branch in Mortlake for their outstanding and always friendly service to our own business but more importantly, our town. Amanda, Wendy, Sue and Emma have been a delight to deal with over the 11 years that we have operated the Mortlake Post Office and to show our appreciation of their stellar efforts we presented each of them with a gift of some beautiful flowers and a card wishing them the best. We were lucky ...in one way to be able to be present when they officially closed the doors to the public for the last time but then again it is sad that we won’t be able to be greeted warmly by these fantastic people Some of the ladies we believe are moving to other branches of the bank and some others may be taking time out to decide their futures. Unfortunately Emma wasn’t working at the Mortlake branch today for the photos. We sincerely wish them all the very best in whatever they do and thank them for their loyal service. Congratulations!

17.01.2022 Easter Saturday parcel deliveries. Please note that due to the current Covid-19 crisis there is an overwhelming number of parcels in the Australia Post system at the moment. With short notice given, we were informed that we would receive a delivery on Good Friday. One of our staff spent nearly 3 hours on a public holiday sorting parcels so that we can deliver them on Saturday. Therefore, those parcels received will be delivered from 9 am to their recipients.... We are fully expecting to be bombarded with bigger numbers of parcels and mail when we return on Tuesday morning but well get it done. Our shop is not open until Tuesday at 9 am. Happy Easter.

15.01.2022 To all Mortlake residents regarding the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) crisis. Our latest information is that the Australia Post network will continue to operate during this crisis as it is classed as an essential service. Trading hours do not change; Monday to Friday 9am-5pm & Saturday 9am-11am.... At Mortlake Post Plus we are committed to ensuring that we can meet the needs of the community with your mail, parcel, and bill payments in one place. We have introduced social distancing measures within the store and have hand sanitiser available for all customers to use when visiting the store. All eftpos pinpads and other touch points are disinfected regularly for use by each customer. We stress that the current rules in place regarding being away from your home do include essential shopping such as utilising the Australia Post services it should be noted that we discourage anyone showing signs of the symptoms of coughing, running nose, headaches to visit our business at the moment. To assist in making these uncertain times a little easier for some of our community we have initiated a few ways to pay your bills through the payment of cheques. If you have a cheque book you could place the bill in an envelope addressed to the Postal Manager Mortlake and either drop them in the local mail box at the front of our store or call us on 5599 2133 to organise the Postie to collect the envelope from your mailbox. Additionally, if you hear the Postie in your street on the motorbike, please feel free to wave him down to alert him to collect your payment. All receipts will be included in the next days mail to be returned to you at no charge. We hope that this assists you as we are here to help and are ready for the challenge of these trying times. As we know, the great staff here in Mortlake provide a first class and personal service to our community and we recognise and appreciate their efforts. Over the next period of time we’ll inform the community of the banking services that are available through the Bank@Post network. We are ...linked to over 70 different banking providers with the majority being well recognised and widely used. Unfortunately at this time the ANZ does not have a banking relationship with Australia Post however bill payments and purchases are able to be used at the Post Office. Amongst the more widely known bank brands, we service NAB, Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, Bendigo Bank, Bank of Melbourne, ING and St George to name a few. 08.01.2022 Wed like to ask all Mortlake residents to be vigilant when reversing out of driveways as our posties motorbike was contacted whilst stationary and delivering the mail to the mailbox at an address in town. Luckily in some aspects in was the motorbike and not a child on a bike perhaps that was backed into. Please check your mirrors and surroundings when reversing to avoid any potential injury or worse and do it at a safe speed.... Mail volumes received and staffing levels may mean that delivery times could vary from time to time and we ask that this should be remembered. Thanks for your assistance.

06.01.2022 Toiled away during Saturday morning through to the afternoon to bring new life to our P O Boxes. Cleaned, removed old numbers, spray painted and then attach the new numbers and they’ve come up really well. 254 boxes looking like new and well worth the hours of work to have them looking great. We’ll update the surrounding paint work soon.... Pictures are before and after the works.

Nigel and Kerry are staying in Melbourne to be with Jackson. All funds donated can go towards all ongoing costs associated with their time away from home to help keep them close to Jackson through his recovery.
