25.01.2022 Just have to get one.

25.01.2022 Covid-19 Update We are continuing to operate at Shelley Road. Clients are permitted back in the waiting room (thank goodness) - two at a time only. We have installed perspex barriers at reception (looking a bit like Woolies!!). We have been able to resume most routine operations this week. However, as schools are still not operating we are still struggling with child care and subsequent staff shortages. This means early closing Mondays and Tuesdays (3.30 pm) so we can go h...ome to care for children. The hospital phone will still be answered as normal until 5.30 pm when the after hours service commences. The past weeks have certainly been a great challenge. I dont think anyone enjoyed the curbside consulting system at all. Hopefully the virus is contained and no further restrictions are imposed. Take care everyone and thank you for your patience. Kerry and the team

20.01.2022 What we are doing at Moruya Animal Hospital to stay open and keep everyone safe. We remain open to provide care to our patients. However, we have implemented strict protocols to ensure social distancing and reduce exposure of staff and clients to COVID-19. As of Monday 23 March 2020 we will collect patients from the carpark and take them into the hospital for examination and treatment. Hospital staff will be wearing masks with visors. Clients are not permitted to enter the ...Hospital. Routine and emergency consultations and treatment continue inside the Hospital as normal. We have an EFTPOS facility outside the front door for client use. Hand sanitiser is provided. For food and medication purchases, please ring in advance and your order will be packaged up and ready for you to pick up. Many Hospital staff have school aged children. Given the current school situation it is possible that we may need to shorten hours to allow staff to go home and care for their children. At the moment business hours remain unchanged, but we are assessing the situation and will advise of any changes to work hours. Thank you all for your understanding in these extraordinary times.

20.01.2022 Dental health is as vital to our pet’s wellbeing as it is to our own health. However, dental disease is one of the most common problems diagnosed in pets, with Australian vets finding four out of five dogs and cats over the age of three years exhibit some level of dental disease. In pets, dental disease can cause bad breath (halitosis), infection and pain. If left untreated, infected gums can allow bacteria to enter your pet’s bloodstream and make them seriously ill. Once in ...the blood stream, the bacteria can lodge in small blood vessels, most commonly in the liver or kidneys, and cause life threatening disease. Over the next 4 weeks we are promoting dental health for your pets. We are providing free dental health checks and in the event any dental work is required for your pet, we will offer a 20% discount!! But there is more..... any dental patients will receive a FREE dental care pack and discount vouchers for future use.

19.01.2022 We will be closed on Saturday 18th July for floor resurfacing. Sorry for any inconvenience. We just cant walk on the floors.....

17.01.2022 Change to After Hours Service Availability Moruya Animal Hospital will amend the current 24 Hour Emergency Service from 11 September 2020. From this date the After Hours service will cease at 9.30 pm each evening and resume at 7.30 am each morning. This change has become necessary due to the Australia wide shortage of Veterinarians and has been made in consultation with the NSW Veterinary Practitioners Board. We are terribly sorry to have to make this change. ... If you are worried about your pet outside these available times you will need to source a 24 hour Veterinary Service. The Yellow Pages lists vets in the local area advertising an on call 24 hour emergency service. Unfortunately the closest permanently staffed 24 hour Veterinary facility is located in Canberra: Pet Emergency service Canberra (02) 6280 6344.

16.01.2022 Tuesday 24th March (today) we are closing at 3.30pm, due to a staff shortage. With children no longer going to school our staff need to go home early to care for their children. We are doing our best to operate normally under the circumstances. Please call to order medications and food and we will have them ready for you to collect. Thank you to all our clients and patients for understanding. Take care.... Moruya Animal Hospital

09.01.2022 Volunteer Taste Testers Required! Moruya Animal Hospital takes food safety seriously!! Over the years we have treated many animals who have become ill after eating imported treats. A number of these patients have suffered long term health problems after eating contaminated food, and several have died. Always on the look out for Australian made food, weve found a new supplier. Before we stock this product we would like to get your feedback. We are looking for some fussy eat...ers to test this new food (it is a dry kibble). Were looking for taste testers who would like to try the following special diets: * Dental - for dogs that like a good chew * Mobility - for dogs with arthritis * Weight management - for those dogs carrying a few extra kilos * Sensitive stomach or skin - for cats and dogs who have sensitive digestive systems We are also looking for some puppies and adult dogs to try a regular day to day diet. Food samples are free - we just want to know if it is yummy. We have limited samples available so please put your paw up if interested.
