23.01.2022 "Morview Silver Bullet"

23.01.2022 Molly's Story Molly was born on 11/08/2018. She was a stunning half masked ACD puppy that just loved everyone and everything, including the cat, which she would lick until she was saturated. I bought her from a breeder in Toowoomba initially to keep Jock, our Blue Male company, when my old girl Spotty passed on. We had just moved out onto 75 acres and built our dream home. The dogs were locked up at a night but had free run during the day when we were home. That soon changed.... After our next door neighbour shot Molly with Buck shot when she was 8 months of age. Don't worry the police were called and his guns were taken off him. Anyway, Molly's fence was constructed giving the dogs about 2 acres around the house to roam. In August 2010. Molly gave birth to 10 beautiful babies, from 2 slip matings.. Then in 2011, she gave birth to a further 6 pups. After the birth I was sure there was another pup inside so an emergency "C" section was done. Only to find a huge sac of urine. No Puppy. After many tests, we found out when she had been shot the uretheric tube had been damaged and her Kidney was now dying. The uni said $4k with no guarantees. My vet said she had read up on it and if I was willing (no guarantees), she would like to try for what the operation cost only. So, I said okay lets try.. After two days in my rumpus room on the couch she was on the way back to normal, except that the chances were she would only live to about 7 or 8 years of age. Molly went on to have a further 2 litters with a total of 35 puppies in all. Another litter of 11 than one of 8.. She would let my grand daughter dress her up as a fairy... She took control of all the younger dogs and taught them manners. Loved to jump on you and lick you from head to toe. The most loving and loyal dog you could ever hope to own. Now at 11 years and 11 months, her eye sight is perfect, she has no arthritis, is as fit as a fool. EXCEPT, for the lump I found the other night when she insisted on laying on top of me.. This morning we found out that My Molly has lymphoma Her days are now numbered and the time she has left with us will be on the lounge that she loves so much. She is there at the moment, while I am wriing this, crying my eyes out, snoring her head off...(They reckon dogs are like there owners. lol)... If anyone ever says that they would not recommend an Australian Cattle Dog to a family with kids, Molly is testament as to how wrong you are... She has been and always will be a great ambassador to the breed, as we walked out of the Vet Surgery this morning, there was a young man sitting on the chair outside. Molly couldn't help herself, she went up to him, he put his hand out and she gave him a big lick... She will forever be in our hearts... Photos attached are of Molly when she was younger and her first litter of 10 pups. See more
