24.01.2022 Today would have been the first of 10 days of amazing dancing. The decision to cancel was not made lightly and today I am feeling a little empty. I received a gorgeous message this morning from Kelly Ellis and the MFOD committee from Upstaged Dance along with this video. 17.01.2022 Thank you again to Latrobe Theatre Company for your continued support. We are very sad to see your show isnt going ahead as planned but glad it has only been postponed and not cancelled. I urge you all to get behind them when tickets go on sale for the show next February. We will make sure we let you all know when the tickets go on sale.

14.01.2022 Your Executive Committee for 2020/2021 are Rachel Rowley- President, Nina Matar - Vice President, Lindsay Haley - Treasurer, Raelene Walker - Secretary and Chelsey Alesi - Assistant Secretary. We had 3 of our Committee Members become life Members, Congratulations to Andrea Price, Tammy Gardner and Bex Calleja. We encourage everyone to join our Committee, we will welcome you with open arms. We say goodbye to 2 of our hard working Committee, Joanne Gellie and Alana Welbourne, thank you ladies.
14.01.2022 Thought I should post this to remind you to support the companies that support us. They really need us now and more importantly when we are able to get out and about again. We have lots of varieties of businesses for all your needs, all of them will need our help especially those in the hospitality and travel industries.
13.01.2022 NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK Even though this year we are unable to hold our Dance Festival, we would like to take the opportunity to THANK each and every volunteer that has helped make Morwell Festival of Dance the successful friendly Eisteddfod that everyone loves. We have so many wonderful reviews from people from all our Dance schools and this makes us happy and proud of what we do. Our biggest thank you is to our wonderful hard working Committee.

12.01.2022 GIVE AWAY TIME We were generously donated a childs free pass from Gumbya World and we dont want to see it go to waste. As Gumbya World are going to be open ov...er the school holidays, we thought now is a perfect time to do a give away. The free pass allows entry for 1 child aged between 3-15 years with the purchase of a full paying adult. If you think you could use this free pass and would like to win it, please like our page, share this post and tag a friend. The pass is valid until 30th September 2020. 12.01.2022 REFUND UPDATE - we are working with stardom to reverse credit card payments. If you paid via direct deposit or other means we will be in touch in the coming days. Please try and not contact us for an update as we are working as hard as we can to get this sorted and may not be able to reply to messages and emails. I will post another update in the coming days. 12.01.2022 If on the last invoice page it asks you add an admin fee..... same section as seasons pass and program.... Please dont add it.... It will happen automatically and we can not refund it to you, if you do happen to add it :)
12.01.2022 Important Announcement - Theatrical Dance Eisteddfod 2020 Unfortunately due to the current Covid 19 stage 3 restrictions we will be unable to run the Postponed ...Theatrical Dance Eisteddfod as planned and with uncertainty around when things will get back to some form of normality, we have now made the difficult decision to cancel the Theatrical Dance Eisteddfod for 2020. We understand this is disappointing news for our Competitors, Teachers and Families. An email has been sent to all Competitors and Dance Studios with information regarding entry fees, season passes and pre paid programs. (as with all bulk email send outs some have bounced back - please email us [email protected] if you did not receive this important email). A Special Note to our Year 12 Competitors please know we share your disappointment in not being able to provide you with a final Sale Eisteddfod dancing opportunity this year. We are planning something special for you all as part of our 2021 event to enable your involvement if you are unable to enter normal sections next year. We are so close to our cap, we will close entries once we reach it. If your entry goes through it does not mean that you have made the cut off. 07.01.2022 UPDATE : With the recent COVID-19 updates we have been receiving questions about our plans for our festival. Things are changing so quickly that we will not be able to make a decision until closer to our event. As a committee we will meet and an announcement will be made on the 1st June. If things change and a decision is made for us, we will let you know as early as possible. I know this is not ideal and I ask for your patience during this difficult time. We know your chi...ldren have been working hard and dance schools are preparing and it will be disappointing if we have to cancel however the health and safety of our committee, competitors and families is the most important factor. Our running sheet will come out in the next week and we continue to plan as if we are going ahead, trophies, medals, program etc.... please be patient, we will keep you updated if anything changes. 05.01.2022 Good morning Thank you for your patience while we sort out refunds. As previously advised, we are refunding entry fees, seasons passes and programmes. What you dont get back is your admin fee and credit card fee (if you paid via credit card). We understand this is a difficult time for so many families, please give us and stardom a week to process the refunds and then we will make contact with you all again. If you can avoid sending us messages or asking questions for a few days it would be appreciated. As you can imagine its a huge job and we need to get through the bulk before looking at individual situations. Thank you again for your ongoing support and heres to a better 2021. Thanks Rachel
05.01.2022 REFUND UPDATE - Refunds will be made as soon as possible. We are able to refund all entry fees, programs and seasons passes. Unfortunately credit card and admin fees are not able to be refunded. We are working with stardom to reverse the credit card payments. If you paid via direct credit you will receive an email from us early next week. 03.01.2022 THE NEWS YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR! Entries will open at 8am Friday, January 15th to local and affiliated schools first. If all allocations have not been fi...lled, entries will then open to all other dance schools as well at 9am Monday 18th January and will close at 11:59pm on Tueday 19th January. Dancers can only enter championship sections if their dance school is affiliated. If you would like to affiliate your school please email us at [email protected]. Other important information; Eisteddfod dates Friday April 9th - Friday April 16th. There will be NO Improvisation sections this year. Payment for entries on Stardom will be by Credit Card only. Programs will be available for pre-order on stardom for $10 and then available for $12 at the eisteddfod. Season Passes will also be available to pre-purchase on Stardom for $40. The eisteddfod will look a little different this year due to restrictions and we will have to wait until closer to the eisteddfod, to make sure we are abiding by current restrictions. All people entering the venue each day will need to check in and follow the instructions of committee to ensure we keep our event as safe as possible for everyone. More information on this will be available closer to the event. We are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that this year's Moe Dance Eisteddfod will definitely be able to go ahead. 01.01.2022 Happy Isolation Easter. We know its probably not the Easter that everyone had planned, but enjoy this break with your family. Take time to play some board games, do a jigsaw, watch a movie and most of all stay safe. We WILL get through this silent war eventually, in the mean time take advantage of this family time, your kids will be grown up and gone before you know it.
01.01.2022 Latrobe City get ready!!!! Entries will open in the coming weeks. We will be posting information about how this is going to happen soon. But for now. SOME I...NFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW.. This is a very modified event. Our rules which will be posted in the coming days include some COVID safe guidelines that must be agreed to as a condition of entry. This includes a strict venue entry policy for the performer and one (1) support person/parent/guardian. Unfortunately, this means no siblings, friends or family. It also means very strict timing for arrival, change room access and departure. We are offering the following sections; Classical Jazz Tap Character Lyrical National Song & Dance Hip Hop Contemporary (10 yrs & over) Classical Championship Tap Championship Modern/Jazz Championship Contemporary Championship We cant wait to see you all on stage.
