21.01.2022 Last Friday at Mosaic HQ we were able to host a very special gathering for Mosaic client, Sophie, who was recently awarded the Lords Taverners Tasmania, Jim Bacon Sports Award. In what is usually an award presented during the Lords Taverners Tasmania's annual Gala Awards Night, unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions this event was unable to take place in 2020. To celebrate Sophie's achievement and outstanding participation and passion for sport and recreation, employees ...and clients from Mosaic came together for a morning tea award presentation at Mosaic HQ! Chairman of the Lords Taverners Tasmania, Robert Bilyk, was also in attendance, speaking with great passion about Sophie's contribution to the inclusive sporting community, before presenting Sophie with her award! 17.01.2022 Crossroads are the places we arrive at, the junctions in life from where anything is possible. Invariably we can only travel down one path at a time, choice determines everything. Premiering at the Mosaic Festival Of Arts as one of three short films by Mosaic Studios, Crossroads is an initiative by filmmakers, David Montgomery, Charlie Smith, Grant Pearson and Rodri Diaz Icasuriaga to capture and convey the emotion of their inner lives; how they feel about who they are, wh...ere they’ve come from, and where they’re going. Theirs is a human story, everyone’s story, in some way or another. Crossroads is a symbol for choice; what to choose, how to choose, and to recognise the power and implication of those choices. Above all, this film is a snapshot about freedom in life; freedom is a road with many crossroads. There is struggle, and choice, and hope that those choices lead to a greater sense of freedom. To purchase tickets to see Crossroads, and Mosaic Studios other premiering films (teasers coming soon!), please visit https://madebymosaic.com.au/ See more

14.01.2022 Yesterday afternoon marked the Official Opening of the Festival Of Arts, with a special COVIDSafe event held at Mosaic HQ and the courtyard outside of our Bathurst Street office spaces. In what was a fantastic gathering of artists and their families, marking the contributions to this year's Festival, the event featured a live showing from Silver Space, as well as a wonderful opening speech from special guest, Elise Archer MP. Mosaic artist Nic Roldan, whose artworks are featu...red throughout this year's gallery exhibitions, also welcomed attendees with a fantastic speech and performance! Included in the festivities of the Official Opening was also the acknowledgment of Mosaic's finished Mural, fabulously facilitated by Mosaic's Disability Support Advisor, Wayne Jolly. In what was a collaboration with Hobart City Council and Vibrance Festival, the Mural proved to be a true One Mosaic effort, with countless Mosaic clients and employees contributing to the finished piece! 11.01.2022 Some live-action shots from Mosaic performance groups Ammarra Ensemble and Silver Space during their fantastic performances earlier this week for Mosaic's 2020 Festival Of Arts! In the first performance of the week, Ammarra Ensemble featured self-choreographed routines by each group member, portraying the rollercoaster of disruption that has defined 2020; isolation, separation and the joyful creative force of reconnection. Included in their performance was a calming prelud...e by dancer, Tim, accompanied by his mother, Kate on Cello, as well as a preceding performance by singer, Pania performing Pokarekara Ana, a traditional New Zealand love song and dance from members of Dance Explosion in their debut performance. Contemporary Performance Art Ensemble, Silver Space also delivered a fantastic performance, joined by Mosaic Art Tutor, Julia, who showcased her contemporary instruments during their LIVE show. 09.01.2022 After a 6-month closure period this year due to COVID-19, Mosaic client, Bridget made her long-awaited return to horse riding through RDA Tasmania last week! Participating in horse riding provides Bridget an opportunity to explore her passion, continuing to develop her horse riding and horse-care skills, as well as achieving her personal and developmental goals. During the 6-month closure period this year, Bridget was unable to attend sessions at Riding for the Disable...d Association of Tasmania, an activity that she greatly missed during this time. When Bridget’s father notified Mosaic that horse riding was re-commencing, the Community Access Team quickly came together to facilitate her return to RDA last week. Bridget absolutely loves being back in the saddle and wasn’t worried about getting back on a horse after so long, falling right back into her routine at RDA, continuing to achieve dreams and celebrate life! #listenwithheart #challengeexpectations #achievedreams #celebratelife See more

04.01.2022 As a way of celebrating the achievement and artworks proudly displaying in our HQ Gallery, yesterday afternoon marked the hosting of a very special Gallery Exhibition at Mosaic HQ. Clients featured in the gallery were invited to bring a small number of family members or guests to the exhibition to ensure a COVID-safe event, whilst also being able to enjoy some refreshments and showcase their artworks to family members, friends, and fellow artists. Capturing feelings of isola...tion and the uncertainty of the COVID-19 period, pieces featured in this exhibition represent a number of themes and emotions. Whilst many artists created their pieces through the traditional methods of Mosaic’s art programs, for others, the COVID-19 pandemic meant working in the safety of their homes and experiencing art in a new way. All pieces from this exhibition are available to view and purchase via our online Made By Mosaic social enterprise store ( https://madebymosaic.com.au/co/hq-gallery-august-exhibition ), with all profits from the sale of artworks going directly to the artists.
