25.01.2022 Thank you to past volunteer Emily and the children at Meadows Primary School for raising money for MOSH at a recent casual day fundraiser. The students in their SRC recognised that this has been a hard year mentally for a lot of people and that the money should go towards mental health services. Emily explained what MOSH does for the community and our role in supporting mental well-being through community engagement and drop in services and they all agreed that was where the...y wanted to send their money. How awesome is that!! We are so impressed that mental wellbeing is being talked about openly at primary school level. This is so important for setting children up for a resilient and mentally well future. #loveMOSH

23.01.2022 Care for the carer

22.01.2022 We are always intrigued when people come up with innovative ways to raise awareness of help seeking. This will be tough for the announcers but nothing compared to how hard it is for some people to speak up.

22.01.2022 Some great alternatives to try when supporting someone else.

21.01.2022 Sharing some beautiful photos and words of mindfulness and self care from Sue who is a member of the Wise Women Walking group over at Big Heart Adventures What I love about walking is that even though you may be covering the same ground, there are subtle differences to notice - whether it's simply due to a seasonal change, like the water dripping out of a saturated hillside onto your normally dry path, the sound of water running in a creek or flowers that have bloomed since the last time you were there, it's a great way to bring yourself into the present & appreciate all your senses.

21.01.2022 MOSH House will be closed at 1230 today. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

21.01.2022 Some more support numbers if you should need them.

12.01.2022 A message from Emma for International Suicide Survivors Loss Day 2020 - 'For anyone who has recently been bereaved by suicide I really want to tell you that i...t does get easier. When you can, connect with others who have similar experiences, it lightens the load you carry and you won't feel so alone. Make a list of all the things you love and find a way to live them. When I lost my son in 2013 I felt that the world had changed and I didn't fit into it anymore, I had to reinvent and make it a place I could be with my grief. I surrounded myself with things I love even if I couldn't feel them. For me it was family and friends, my vegie patch, animals and nature. I made new traditions ones that included the love I have for my son, like all of my people enjoying apple pie on his birthday and step by step, year by year it began to get easier'. #StandBy #supportaftersuicide #suicideprevention #standbysupportaftersuicide #griefandloss #InternationalSuicideSurvivorsLossDay See more

07.01.2022 Happy Birthday to us! Today we celebrate 12 years of supporting the community in mental wellbeing through our drop in centre at 86 George St Thebarton. Over the years we have provided thousands of volunteer hours either directly or via our information sessions and sharing resources via our website and social media. 100s of people have come through our door and some of them have told us they wouldnt be here without us. Some of our visitors are merely lonely and others need a... lot more support. Our supporters are too numerous to mention here but you know who you are. We couldnt have done it without you. We also couldnt do it without our awesome team of volunteers led by our super House Manager Mel. If you would like to make a contribution to our work as a gift to us we would appreciate it but your comments, likes and shares mean a lot to us too. Bring on the next 12 years! #loveMOSH #MOSHAustralia www.moshaustralia.org.au See more
