25.01.2022 Reach Rescue A reach rescue can be done by all of us and we can use any household or garden item to assist! 1. Rescuer lays down on the pool edge and reaches out with an object... 2. Rescuer encourages the swimmer and tells them to hold on 3. Rescuer slowly pulls the swimmer to the wall 4. A rescuer makes sure the swimmer is safe and asks them to climb out Always yell out for adult help! Never go in the water to rescue a friend.

24.01.2022 Treading water is an important skill for swimmers of all ages and abilities. This skill is very useful if you are stranded in a body of water waiting for others to reach you. While in an upright position, use either a flutter kick action or circular kicking action. Ensure your hands are performing underwater culling movements or similar to a dog paddle action. The most important thing is to keep your head above the water! If you ever get tired, remember to call out for help and float on your back to rest.

14.01.2022 Work has begun on the Mosman pool renovation! The pool has been drained, checked and a lot of the pool deck tiles have been removed. The changing rooms have also been stripped out ready for the new fit-out to begin. Works are on track and we are looking forward to reopening with a fantastic facility with brand new upgraded changing facilities and pool surrounds.

13.01.2022 We hope you’re all doing well during this time. Whilst the NSW Government is slowly lifting restrictions and we may soon open on limited services, the Mosman City Council are using the closure / restricted period as an opportunity to complete some capital works projects onsite. These were originally scheduled by council in partnership with BlueFit for November to January, however, with many staff covered by JobKeeper, we feel the right decision has been made to bring them forward. We’ll keep you updated during the works, which will include change room renovations and re-tiling throughout the venue. We hope to be open in September or October this year. Thank you for your patience. Until then, stay safe!

09.01.2022 This winter warmer is super easy to cook and is great if you are on a budget! Ingredients: 2 tbsp avocado or olive oil 2 onions, diced... 1 carrot, chopped tsp dried thyme tsp dried marjoram 3 cups of vegetable or chicken stock 1 cup lentils (rinsed and drained) 1 pinch salt cup fresh parsley 1 16-ounce can tomatoes Optional: crumbled goat cheese Method: 1) Heat the oil in a large soup pot and saut the onions and carrot for 3 to 5 minutes, until they are softened. Add dried herbs and saut 1 minute. 2) Add stock, lentils, salt, parsley, and tomatoes and cook, covered, until lentils are tender, about 45 minutes. 3) When its done, place in bowls and serve. Optional: when serving, put 2 tablespoons of goat cheese each in each bowl before adding the soup for a creamier version.

08.01.2022 As you are aware, Mosman Swim Centre is undergoing capital works to upgrade the facility, therefore our swim school remains closed. We understand that many families are keen to resume swimming lessons now that restrictions have eased, so we wanted to offer families a place in our BlueFit Swimming program at Lane Cove Aquatic Leisure Centre. Lane Cove Aquatic Leisure centre is a large multipurpose facility, less than 9km from Mosman Swim Centre. The facility has a dedicated ki...ds program pool as well as a 25m pool making it perfect for both infants through to squad levels. We are also hoping to have instructors from Mosman Swim Centre teach at Lane Cove during the capital works. SERVES: 1 INGREDIENTS:... 50g rolled porridge oats 20g coconut yogurt 2 sliced kiwis 1 passion fruit tsp toasted mixed seeds DIRECTIONS: Soak the oats in 150ml water with a pinch of salt, then cover and chill in the fridge overnight. The next day spoon half the oats into a bowl. Layer with the coconut yogurt, sliced kiwis, the pulp of the passion fruit and the rest of the oats, then top with the toasted mixed seeds. 01.01.2022 A sweet-tasting morning bowl of goodness. What makes this one such a treat is you can substitute any ingredient to fit your taste buds and preference. This recipe serves 1. INGREDIENTS: 1/2 cup milk 1/3 cup traditional oats... 1/2 ripe banana 1/4 cup frozen blueberries 1/4 cup frozen raspberries 1 tablespoon white chia seeds 1 teaspoon acai powder (see Note) 100g mixed berries 1 tablespoon pistachios, chopped 2 teaspoons dried cranberries 2 teaspoons freeze-dried pomegranate seeds 1 tablespoon chia seeds DIRECTIONS: Blend milk, oats, banana, frozen berries and acai powder until smooth. Stand for a few minutes to thicken. Spoon into a serving bowl. Arrange berries, pistachio and seeds on top.
