23.01.2022 Different day, same thing. Would be nice to have some grass!
23.01.2022 Meals on wheels!
21.01.2022 This gentle giant will be sold at the Inverell Saleyards tomorrow 3/9/19. M43 has been used in the Mosquito Creek Angus stud and commercial herds for the past 2 years. He is just 3 years of age and it was a tough decision to let him go. He is an Ayrvale General G18 son with rock solid EBV’s and a phenotypic type that is second to none. Could be a real bargain for someone after a top class bull at meat prices!
20.01.2022 2020 sale bulls selling quickly. These 2 are sons of Ayrvale Legacy and VAR Discovery. Solid genetics, excellent temperaments and both out of top notch cows. Please note that we have only half the normal number of bulls this year due to the drought so get in early to secure your next Sire.
19.01.2022 Moving cows and calves out of the Wattyl Regrowth.
18.01.2022 9 year old G18 has been a great cow for us. Her P heifer by GAR Momentum looks like she will follow in her footsteps. Can’t wait to see how her GB Fireball bull calf turns out. 27kg birthweight and massive growth projections. Can’t wait to see him in 2022.
18.01.2022 N56 now available. This bull was kept to use over our own stud and commercial cows however given we have now sold all our commercial cows and a percentage of our stud cows he is surplus to our requirements. He is a son of GAR Prophet the Marbling Rockstar from the US. I haven’t weighed him but am sure he would be around the 1000kg mark. On the market at $4000. His EBV’s can be found on the Angus website or message me and I will forward them on.
12.01.2022 Only 3 hours left to purchase a Mosquito Creek Angus bull on Auctionsplus.
10.01.2022 Our first bulls heading off the mainland. These 5 are off today to Tasmania. Rye Grass and White Clover will be a significant change to their diet. All the best with them Mark and Milly
07.01.2022 What a difference a couple of months and some awesome rain has made.
06.01.2022 Mosquito Creek Maximus M39. Just had his DNA tested through the HD50K program. Top 1% for every single Index. +142 for 600 day weight, 3.5 for IMF, positive figures for all calving ease traits. We used him heavily as a Yearling and again as a 2 year old. About to scan his first progeny tomorrow. His progeny are running in the same group as calves by VAR Discovery, Bush’s Windchill and Ayrvale Legacy. All massive growth sires. M39’s progeny are superior for growth and temperament. Tomorrow will tell how they stack up for carcass data. This year he had a 100% calving success out of maiden heifers. Not a single assist.
05.01.2022 Mosquito Creek Maximus M39. Top 1% for every Index. In the yards for semen collection. He has been nominated for the Angus Sire Benchmarking Program Cohort 11. He is the 2nd son of D9 to be used in our stud. His own data was phenomenal and his progeny are shaping up really well. He has already produced the current top priced bull for us at this stage for 2020. We still have some absolute cracking sons of his available. Limited Semen will be available for Spring AI programs.
04.01.2022 Lucky last bull delivered today. Still fielding solid inquiries about heifer bulls so have decided to semen test our yearling bulls and make them available. Have got approximately 25 yearling bulls that are suited to heifer mating and am hoping to get them Semen tested this week.
03.01.2022 Bulls will be in the yards on Wednesday afternoon for anyone wanting a last minute look. There are a few locals coming to check them out and there is a strong chance that there will be beer for anyone who makes the effort to inspect the boys!
03.01.2022 Really liking this calf. Son of Ayrvale Legacy out of a future donor cow. P105 is Poddy quiet, long and has a mountain of muscle. He is out backing up 65 stud heifers at the moment. He is the 2nd son of H30 that we have used in our stud. Looking forward to seeing his progeny in 2020.
02.01.2022 Last AI job done. It has dragged on along with harvest and shearing. This was the 2nd round for this mob and was our most successful program ever. 82% in calf after the first AI job. Different program to what we have been using for the past 15 years and I am stoked with the results. All up we have AI’d over 350 females to 12 different sires and used 4 back up bulls all bred by us. Sires used include Sterling Pacific, Mogck Entice, Texas Iceman, RR Endeavor, KCF Bennett Exponential, Crawford Guarantee, WR Full House, Storth Oaks Fully Loaded, GAR Reliant, GAR Kansas, Landfall Keystone and GB Fireball. Can’t wait for Spring to see the results.
16.12.2021 These are the new indexes released by Angus Australia this month. This is where Mosquito Creek Maximus M39 ranks on these indexes. Pretty impressive, especially for a 5 year old bull. He is out with cows at present for his third joining this year. He is the most used sire in the Mosquito Creek Angus herd and has been used every year since he was a yearling. Feel free to compare him to any of the record selling Angus bulls sold from the most recognised studs in Australia in 2021. In fact put him him up against the international semen sires from around the world. He stacks up against them all. Semen is available for private sale.
26.11.2021 Nice to see the Mosquito Creek cows looking so good. J27 will be in the 4th AI Program for 2021. Can’t wait to see what she delivers in 2022.
18.11.2021 Not the ideal conditions to tackle our largest ever AI Program. Swallowed plenty of mud and a couple of flies for the day. Big thanks to Steven Brown from NO Bull AI Training at Taree for getting all 115 maiden and first calf heifers done today in difficult conditions.
12.11.2021 Some of the Mosquito Creek Angus Matrons on the move.
05.11.2021 Happy Father’s Day to Mosquito Creek Quality Q53. Our maiden heifers would like to thank you for producing an entire crop of first calves with a mob average birthweight of 29.5kg. Congratulations also on your inclusion in the Cohort 12 Angus Sire Benchmarking Program and your recent large scale semen sale to a commercial breeder. Looking forward to admiring some of your potential 300+ progeny by next Father’s Day
31.10.2021 Nice to find this young Prime Katapault cow with a neat little pair of twins today. Absolutely love the super short gestation length of the Katapault cattle. Regularly putting calves on the ground 10-12 days early. These 2 weighed 25 and 26kg.
29.10.2021 Thank you to everyone that attended our Bull Inspection/Sale. We had a lot of regular clients here today and we were pleased to meet some new ones as well. We sold 35 bulls on the day and 5 after the sale. Bulls averaged $7,100 for 15-22month olds. Very happy with the result and for the chance to see regular clients and to meet new ones. 8 bulls left for anyone that couldn’t make the day.
26.10.2021 First pen in tomorrow’s Inspection Day.
15.10.2021 A few of the bulls available at our Bull Inspection Day tomorrow from 11:00am. Bulls are priced from $4000-$10,000 + GST. These bulls represent the best value genetics on the market. With most local sales averaging over $20,000 for their bulls you can be certain to find an absolute bargain here. This will probably be the last time we sell bulls this way so take the opportunity to come and have a look at them. Ideally buy a $20,000 bull from another stud and then put him up against one of ours that cost you $10,000. I’m confident you will come back next year.
18.09.2021 More bull spam. Q81. Available for private sale
13.09.2021 10 sons of Mosquito Creek Maximus M39 are available for private sale among 40 rising 2 year old and 10 rising 18 month old bulls this year. Our first inspection day was washed out however bulls will be in the yards on Thursday 22nd July at 10:30am weather permitting. They are also available for inspection by appointment. These bulls are sold on a first in first served basis. Bulls are priced from $4,000 - $10,000.
