25.01.2022 Good Morning Members, Fishing Comp - This Weekend Our next fishing comp is this weekend, 30th October - 1st November - and it looks to be a calm one! The comp will begin from 5pm tomorrow, 30th. Participation in the competition must follow any mandated government guidelines. Social distancing rules will apply at the clubhouse and no more than 6 members inside the clubhouse at any one time (hand sanitizer will be available onsite). Weigh in and BBQ on Sunday from 3pm. ... Closed Season - Barramundi Throughout the Queensland east coast, a closed season applies to barramundi from 1 November (Sunday) to 31 January. Any barramundi that are caught on Friday or Saturday before the closed season starts must be photographed with date and time, to be accepted at the weigh in on Sunday. Raffle Tickets and EOY Presentation To raise some money for our end of year presentation, we will be selling raffle tickets over the next few weeks. Raffle prizes will be a few seafood and meat trays and we would love it if our members could collect a book or two to sell. Raffle books can be collected from the club house at the weigh in this Sunday - or contact us if you'd like to arrange an alternate time to collect. Raffle books will be due back on presentation night (Saturday, 12th December). 2020 has been a tough year for everybody and Covid has had a significant impact on our financial position and ability to fundraise for the end of year presentation. This year we would like to ask our families for your support in contributing to our end of year prizes (we would love to continue handing out a prize for every Junior and Sub-Junior as well as our winners). If you have any vouchers or items at home (new or excellent condition) that you would like to donate, we will have a tub at the clubhouse on Sunday. Time to sort through that fishing collection - maybe you have some lures still in boxes or other things that are no longer being used. We appreciate your support continued participation in our club! Many thanks and have a great weekend! Cheers, MBFC Committee
