25.01.2022 Are you planning a Holiday to Far North QLD? It is always a good idea to do a bit of research before taking your pets to a new area. Call a local vet, or ask your own vet if there is anything you need to do or any special precautions you need to take to ensure your pet has a safe holiday. Far North Qld is home to paralysis ticks....PLEASE make sure your animals are on suitable paralysis tick prevention! We are seeing a high number of tourists (and locals) with animals affect...ed by paralysis tick. It is a life or death decision if you do not have adequate tick prevention at this time of the year, it can result in very costly hospital treatment, or even the loss of your beloved pet. This is not something we want you to have as a memory of our beautiful home. If you are unsure please don't hesitate to call us 40981888 and our staff can provide you with the best advice for preventatives whilst you are here. If your dog is acting strangely, is wobbly or vomiting or off their food please make an appointment to see the vet ASAP, or if you are worried please call for advice. 40981888.

25.01.2022 Sorry, but today we are postponing appointments. Dr. Susan requires urgent medical attention and cannot attend today. We will provide updates as they become available. Very sorry for any inconvenience.

23.01.2022 Mossman Vet would like to introduce our new receptionist Margo to the team.

22.01.2022 To top the day off we have lost power today- so no phones or computers ( or lights) at the moment! Please call the emergency phone if you need us if your call goes to the answering machine.

18.01.2022 We seem to be having issues with our phones! If you cannot get through for any reason please leave us a message so we can get back to you, it seems to go to the answer machine when the nbn drops out.

18.01.2022 Thank you for all the well wishes for yesterday, it made a bad day a little brighter Back to work today, not quite back to normal but I am still available for consults, and we are open as usual. We will keep you updated as the situation changes in coming weeks. Sorry for the inconvenience yesterday. Dr. Susan

18.01.2022 This made my day today,.......very much appreciated

16.01.2022 Although restrictions have eased in QLD we still have some important things to remember: 1. Do not enter the clinic if you are sick or awaitng results of covid testing. Call us to let us know so we can prepare for that. 2. Make sure you are maintaing 1.5m rule inside and outside the clinic. 3. Ensure basic hygiene and hand washing 4. Please follow instructions at time of consult, it can be difficult to maintain social distancing but we can guide you as to best practice... Remember, we aim to keep everyone safe. We dont know what the future will bring, but by doing our part we are helping to keep our area safe and covid free. See more

10.01.2022 A big thanks to Tim Pidgeon for the great job he did removing our messy bougainvillea from the front fence of the clinic! Would highly recommend him for any work you need done. We can now prepare the area for some beautiful new trees to be planted in their place.

08.01.2022 It is nice sometimes to know that people do appreciate the time and effort that our staff and Dr.Susan put into getting your animals back to you when they are so critically ill. Thank you x

05.01.2022 Just a reminder that this weekend is the long weekend. We are taking full advantage of the holiday and will be closed this Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. We will be open Tuesday as normal. So please make sure you have everything you need by Friday to last you over the weekend, and enjoy the time off

02.01.2022 UPDATE: Dr. Susan will be having surgery on the 1st December. To allow her some recovery time we will be closed from Monday 30th November till 6th December. Open again on Monday 7th December. If you expect you may need anything during this week please ensure you order medications etc well ahead of time. Vaccines due during this week can be scheduled before or after this time as necessary. We will provide further updates once we get to December. We apologise for any inconvenience. Please ensure any more urgent bookings are attended to in November, call 40981888 to make your appointments.

01.01.2022 We are seeing a huge number of dogs and puppies with parvo. Please ensure your dogs vaccines are up to date, and if you are unsure please call to find out when they are next due. Vaccinations are life saving with this terrible disease. Please do not purchase unvaccinated puppies from anywhere! Remember that a parvo infected dog is highly contagious and can infect all of the dogs in the area if exposed. Call 40981888 to book you dog or pup for vaccines, or to check your dog's vaccine status today!
