This month is all about the wonderful mother hubbards camden which is a local organisation dedicated to helping those less fortunate. Through their elderslie based opportunity shop they are able to assist people in need with furniture, clothing plus more.... So please come in and support them by purchasing a slice of December’s Mars Bar Charity Cheesecake!! All proceeds from the sale of this cake will go directly to Mother Hubbards Cupboard. 10.01.2022 Again we wish to thank our wonderful community for supporting us over the many years as Mother Hubbards. We thank our team of wonderful volunteers that help us rain, hail or shine. Over the last few weeks there has been a little confusion on whether or not we are accepting donations. The answer is YES we welcome donations ( even electrical, we have a tag and tester).. fridges and washing machines are also in need. As long as the goods are clean and would be an item that yo...u would purchase yourself if on sale within our store, please feel free to donate at 65 Harrington St Elderslie prior to 2pm daily if possible. Please be patient with our staff. During several times over the last few weeks we have been so heavily supported that our team has been very overwhelmed and at times at breaking point sorting all the donations. Please, be patient we are all human and at times our overwhelming feelings may be taken as a negative, but please be mindful we are ever greatful... but only human when under stress. Thankyou again for your understanding and compassion. See you soon xx See more

Our history: For over 12 years our charity has responded in practical and financial ways to the needs in our local community and beyond. Our team: Our 60 volunteers dedicate their time to managing clothing and second-hand goods. ... Our work: We provide furniture and household goods to survivors of domestic violence and homelessness assisting the rebuilding of their lives. Agencies refer their clients to us for assistance. We supply linen, crockery, cutlery, food to crisis accommodation; we provide clothing, DVDs, games to refuges and mental health facilities; we donate nappies and clothing to women’s refuge centres; we give feminine hygiene products to women experiencing homelessness. Money raised from the op shop goes back into the community. Our vision: to shape a community that is responsive, generous and compassionate.
