19.01.2022 This is the real journey! I try and stay strong and be positive but throwing away hundreds of cookies makes me a little sad! These are all the left overs from my last order of cookies that were out of date when you shop local you make someone giving it a go smile when you choose a local business over a bigger corporate you give the little guy a go! Its hard driving your own bus all the time, staying motivated and believing in yourself! So this week try and shop local you are helping someone in your area pay their bills, put food and the table and keep their dreams alive. Small business is hard! We need you to keep us alive!!! #shoplocal #brandsa #lactationcookies

15.01.2022 Pelvic pain in pregnancy Dear midwife Donna I am only 10 weeks pregnant with my second child and I already have terrible pelvis pain. Am I doomed???? Stacey Dear Stacey, how exciting! Congrats dont worry your are not doomed pelvic pain is normal especially with your second pregnancy. It is caused by the hormone relaxin - this is helping the pelvis to move so that uterus can pop out! So yes that baby bump is on the way I hope you have some baggy pants! However it shoul...d get better in the week. A warm wheat bag or some@Panadol can help. Try modifying your activity or going in the pool a bit more often. A physio consult and some Pilates will help in the long term. As this discomfort will be back at 16 weeks - sorry! Enjoy the pregnancy and maybe look for a good aqua aerobics class this will help a huge make the days easier. I hope this helps #pregnancy #pelvicpain #midwife #aquaaerobics See more

07.01.2022 Day five blog released Milk supply, alcohol and breastfeeding and normal changes discussed

06.01.2022 Baby development changes Hi Donna! I have a question I think bubs is going through his first development week at 5 weeks like we discussed. He is like a different baby the last two days! Will buby stay this way after the leap? Feeding is all over the place and he is crying for no known reason Thank you!... Hi Erinn Thanks for your message I am sure you feeli overwhelmed by your little humans new behaviours. Sometimes the change from your baby is the fact that the world is overwhelming. Imagine getting off the subway in New York and heading up to the busy lunchtime New Yorkers! Its overwhelming and you dont know what to do first. For new babies at 5-6 weeks they just stepped on the subway and they are overwhelmed by all these new skills like better head control, the fact that my parents have a voice and a face and the amazing skills of my new voice! Colic can sometimes be a problem which can make the nights hard. A warm bath in the evening can help, tight wrap at night and maybe some womb music. In some cases this time can also co-ordinate with a growth spurt meaning a increase in the freqency of feeding but generally a decrease in length of each feed. A good saying is- this too will pass It is important to remember that nothing lasts forever and you are doing a great job! I hope some of this helps

06.01.2022 First question....... thanks to Kim how long should you wait before getting pregnant after a LSCS ?? Especially if I want a VBAC We would normally encourage 12 months at least from birth to conception this allows the uterus muscle good time to heal. However if you fall pregnant before then dont worry you want split in half! It is just not recommended to attempt a VBAC as the uterus muscle is likely to be weaker I hope that helps Kim #lactationconsultant #postnatal #pregnancy #baby #midwife
