20.01.2022 Just short of 100,000 people took part in this years Mothers Day Classic in nearly 90 locations across Australia yesterday. In Canberra, people could barely s...ee their feet as they trotted around Lake Burley Griffin, in Melbourne it was crisp, damp and grey before the sun emerged for the walk, while Sydney was sunny as were dozens of the country towns that fielded participants in the Mothers Day Classic breast cancer fundraising walk and run. Wed like thank every single person who contributed to the success of the 2019 Mothers Day Classic runners, walkers, fundraisers, volunteers, sponsors and supporters. All funds raised through the Mothers Day Classic will go towards the NBCF research projects that make a difference to those living with breast cancer, as well as hopefully to prevent future breast cancer cases

Since the inception of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) in 1994, the 5-year survival rate has improved from 76% to 91%. But there is still a long way to go with 53 women still diagnosed in Australia every single day. Research is the only way that we can understand more about the cause and development of breast cancer so that we can more effectively diagnose and treat it.
