20.01.2022 We were so blessed to be joined by four of the Missionaries of Charity Sisters from Brisbane during the recent opening and blessing of the first Australian shrine to Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta on Saturday 13 October. I think the Sisters had some inside knowledge, as most of us wore serious footwear, given how much rain had fallen before the big day, and how much was predicted to fall on the Saturday. But as they drove in to Marian Valley the rain stopped and stayed... away during the entire outdoors part of the ceremony. 04.01.2022 On Saturday, 13 October 2018, the first Australian Shrine to Mother Teresa at the Marian Valley was Opened and Blessed by Bishop Ken Howell. This event completed a truly amazing journey to construct a Shrine to Mother Teresa, a journey that has been inspired and influenced by many of you. The event was well attended by over 400 people despite the wet weather conditions. And the rain even stopped for the entire procession to the Shrine, during the outdoor blessing and ...prayer and the return procession back to the church... only then did it start bucketing down once again! 04.01.2022 The first of the (belated) photos from the Opening Day at Marian Valley for Saint Mother Teresa's Shrine. This is taken in the Black Madonna Church where everyone was gathered before commencing the procession to the shrine. Here one of the sisters is holding a relic of Saint Teresa. Despite the weather (pouring rain mostly) we had a wonderful turnout of hundreds of people and pretty much a packed church.
