22.01.2022 Breath Our breath is designed to be 3 dimensional. We breath down into our abdomen, out into the sides of our ribcage and up into the center of our chest. I like to view the ribcage as a pliable woven basket. If one section of the basket is restricted it then affects the ability of the rest of the basket to move freely. In turn this means our breath capacity is reduced. Being able to take an easy, fluid, full breath is important for our vit...ality. It help tones our vagus nerve, great for de-stressing. It helps with our gas exchange - more oxygen in, more carbon dioxide out. And through the movement of our diaphragm, the bottom of the lung cavity, our breath also gently massages our vital organs in our abdominal cavity helping them function at their best. If you want to experience more 3 dimensional depth with your breath try this little exercise. With two tennis balls or a ball with a little bit of give, place them into your armpits and lower your arms to hold them in place. Allow yourself to mold over the balls. Take 3-5 breaths focusing on breathing into the tennis balls while you arms gently squeeze them in place. Remove the tennis balls and take another 3-5 breaths into the armpit. Notice just how much more breath you now feel drawing into your lateral ribcage and armpit area! And when you walk, while naturally swinging your arms, you may experience greater ease through your shoulders due to the greater awareness and depth of your ribcage. Pretty cool if you ask me! 13.01.2022 Meet Our Team Five quick facts you might not know about... J E S S ... I started my journey of Remedial Massage in 2017 when I found my passion for helping people with pain free movement. Seeing people walk out with less pain and smiles on their face makes my job all the more worth while. I recently found a letter I wrote back in primary school about my dream job being a remedial massage therapist! 18 years down the track I am living my dream job, loving every moment of it and I have never looked back once. I have a huge passion for keeping fit and healthy after losing a huge amount of weight and seeing the difference it made. It showed me no goal is out of reach! It may take hard work but you will make it! I am a very spontaneous person who is always full of beans and on the go with a new thing. My latest goal is competing in a novice power lifting competition! Something different to focus on and work towards. Ill let you know how I go! I love being out in nature, riding and spending time with my horse. Whether that is brushing her, going riding or just giving her a belly full of carrots. 10.01.2022 HEALING IS MESSY It isn't linear. Healing loops and spirals and often you have to go backwards temporarily to be abe to reach the next level of healing moving forward. Healing is layered. We are more than the sum of our parts. So even if your goal is the heal a soft tissue injury, this may well involve changes to your mindset, your daily tasks, how you interact with your environment and sometimes it can even challenge your identity. ... Healing often requires different input at different times. This could be as simple as moving from gentle mobilisation of a joint to stretching to strengthening exercises. Or it could look like engaging different practitioners and modalities at different times during your healing. You will never return to the state you were before. This sounds scarier than it is. Walking out your healing grows you, teaches you, strengthens you, refocuses you and helps you to develop stronger than before. This may be a controversial thought but I see it to be true in my own life and in the experiences of my clients. I encourage you to seek out and ask for the help you need to support your healing. Your journey will look different to everyone else's, its supposed to.

This will be holding your knee down Place your right arm straight up in the arm in line with your ear... Lean towards your left hand side You should be feel a stretch on right hand side especially just above your hip you can hold the stretch or breathe into your back to increase the release! 06.01.2022 Ease your tight hips with this simple stretch! Lie on your back with your knees bent Cross your right ankle over the left knee Link your fingers together behind your left hamstring ... Gently pull the leg towards your chest Hold for 30-60 seconds then return to laying flat on the floor Repeat this on the other side. Happy moving everyone!

06.01.2022 Spinal flow! This is one of my favourite moves to unwind and energise the deep muscles of the spine. Stand with one leg forward, soft knees... Raise your opposite arm up to shoulder height Gently reach across the body 3-5 times. You should feel this in your upper back. If able, you can then reach towards the side of your hip 3-5 times, feeling it more in the mid back. Then reaching to the outside of your knee 3-5 times, feeling in the lower back. Swap arms and legs to repeat on the other side! The next part your arm is at shoulder height with the same side leg stepped forward, and you are rotating backwards 3-5 times. Feeling this in the upper back. If able, you can reach on a 45 degree angle, half way between your ear and shoulder to stretch the mid back. And lastly, reaching up by your ear as if you were doing backstroke to unwind all the way down to your lower back. Swap arms and legs to repeat on the other side. At the end your spine should feel all warm and buzzing. You may have even grown a few inches! Happy Moving everyone! #nopainnovember

05.01.2022 Want a deeper breath and less shoulder tension? Think about how much time you spend in a forward rounded shoulder position, sitting at your desk, carrying children, lifting heavy weights at the gym... Your shoulders start to tense, you may feel it up into your neck and before you know it you are taking shallower breaths too. We can create movement in the opposite direction to balance that posture by opening up through the front of the chest.... Helping you stay pain free! The classic pec stretch is the simplest way to do this! If you dont have a foam roller you can use a pool noddle or just roll up a towel. Can be done with no equipment if need be. How to: Place the foam roller down the center of your spine. Have your feet placed shoulder width apart and flat on the floor. Tuck your belly button in towards your spine, gently activating your core. Try and keep your arms at the 90 degrees angle and palms up then slowly lower your forearms towards the ground. Things to remember! Breath into the stretch. Keep your rib cage neutral and draw your belly button in towards your spine. DO NOT force the stretch!! Your chest will open as you breathe. If your arms dont touch the ground it is completely fine!! Just another way to create easy, pain free movement everyday! #motionclinic See more

I obtained my qualification in Remedial Massage whilst here and absolutely love what I do. Im a mum of 3, a teenage girl and 2 little boys, I live to set an example to them of never giving up in order to achieve your dreams. Theres no correct order for life and everything is attainable. I enjoy keeping fit through various strength and cardio sessions and especially Pilates to help me wind down. I have a geeky side and love relaxing by playing the piano and doing puzzle books! 02.01.2022 Child's Pose Wonderful for calming the mind, body and soul. With a gentle stretch for the lower back while massaging abdominal organs. Knealing on hands and feet, on the breath out lower your hips to your feet. Rest back onto a cushion if you need.... Arms can be reached out overhead, placed by your sides or resting underneath your forehead. Breathe slowly and deeply, pressing your belly against your thighs. Hold for 4 to 12 breaths. Return to knealing on hands and knees on next inhale breath. Happy moving! #nopainnovember
