21.01.2022 A few pics from the weekends racing in Premodern class on the CBR1000RR, thanks to Amy Rigby for the shots, nice work.....Great shots also of Brad Miller, Bra...dleys Bakery racing. I placed 3rd for the weekend and gained some valuable points with a 5th, two 3rd places and a race win to now place me 2nd in the SA championship with 2 rounds to go....but without doubt my highlight of the weekend was winning race three by 3.5 seconds from current and multiple SA Superbike champion Will Strugnell on a wet track and also setting the fastest lap of the race in the process. I hold Struggie in the highest regard as most people would agree, everyone knows just how fast Will is on any bike he rides but i felt good on the bike in the wet, I certainly felt I had good grip and I thought I had the pace to do something great in this race after our 2 warm up laps, I got a reasonable start after coming from 6th on the grid and after 2 laps I worked my way through to arrive within striking distance of Will, I closed the gap and saw he was having a few slides, he took a long look over his shoulder and he saw I was there behind him, next lap he did the same thing so I took my chance to pass him entering the double apex right hander that leads onto the main straight, I had gone the opposite side to where he looked so I snuck past into the lead...I knew I had to push even harder now so I put my head down, I had a big slide on the last lap pushing a little harder than I needed to exiting Pinetree corner, it sat me out of my seat but I gathered it in and brought it home to come away with the win in that one....so happy .....great racing with you Will, you are not an easy man to catch. I have to say Struggie was in a class of his own for every other race he entered on the weekend, he is an amazing rider and really is simply sensational to watch on a bike, He's a whole other level and i'd love to see him get a competitive modern Superbike or Supersport as l still don't think we've seen all this guy can do. Another massive thanks goes to Stuart Garvie of Motionlogics, the crash I had saw my controls take a solid hit but the protection offered by the lever guards I have on both the brake and clutch sides made my bike rideable back to the pits, Gear and Brake levers also fully intact.... simply superb.

09.01.2022 What a great start to the SA road racing championship with the opening round held at The Bend Motorsport Park on Feb 1/2, great to be a part of the joint SA/Vic... opening round and did the weather gods throw everything at us....wow.....P5 in Qualifying so not too bad, Race 1 we all got caught out and ran wets on what ended up being a very dry track, all of us aiming for puddles to try and cool our tyres, managed to get up to dice with Brad Miller and Darren Hansberry on their missiles but had to settle for 4th by .6 of a second, race 2 i suffered some arm pump problems and had to settle for some slower lap times just to finish the race but still came away with a 5th place, race 3 I was up to 2nd by turn 1 behind Will Strugnell but a lose coming onto the straight put me back into the clutches of Brad Miller and Darren Hansberry, i settled for 5th in the end after some gear selection issues but happy to finish and gain the points that I did, the results puts me 4th in the SA Premodern championship so cant wait for Round 2 at Mac park over the Easter long weekend, I'd like to thank my sponsors Arai Helmets, Bailey Trading, Bradleys Bakery, Camero Kayaks, damir8.com, DNA airfilters IZTWO Leathers, Motionlogics, SA Motorcycles, Melameats, NG discs, Probolt, South Coast Small Engines, The Grinning Dingo Australia, TFT Solutions pty ltd, Total Tools Thebarton, Trackside Tyres, Triangle tyre co and Webb Plastics...image courtesy damir8.com....a special mention and warm welcome to new sponsors IZTWO leathers and TFT pty Ltd.....hope to have you on board for a long time to come.
