25.01.2022 Unfortunately one of the biggest barriers to women getting help for their pelvic health problems is that they are nervous about having an internal vaginal assessment. And before I became a women’s health Physio I was too. But here’s a few points to address what you’re all thinking but to scared to ask.... it shouldn’t be painful, there is no equipment used other than a glove and some lubricant in the initial assessment there is no ‘normal’ looking vagina - everyone is diffe...rent that’s what makes us unique No you do not need to wax or shave or laser- I really don’t care (or even notice) whether you have hair down there or not! If you get your period before your appointment it is still perfectly fine to have your internal assessment as long as you are comfortable.
