25.01.2022 A collection of images taken in the early hours of this morning ( 23 05 2020 ) of Pacific National's empty grain train #9049 on route to Woorineen, powered by triple G Class locomotives being G524 + G527 + G528 captured at Castlemaine, Kangaroo Flat & Bendigo, where there was a crew change.
25.01.2022 This afternoons ( 04 08 2020 ) SSR movement being train #9082, consisted of S312 + T363 + IEV102 + T386 + P14, captured in Golden Square & 'smoking it up' departing Kangaroo Flat.
23.01.2022 Back on 29 10 2020, QUBE train #9178 sits at the Mallee Hay siding at Ultima awaiting a later departure, with G532 + G515 awaiting their duties. Late adding due to being incredibly busy over the last month.
20.01.2022 VLine streamliner locomotive A66 sits outside the Bendigo Roundhouse at the fuel point today ( 09 09 2020 ), with the engine idling. Lets hope that we see it getting out & about a bit more soon.
19.01.2022 SSR's light engine movements on 27 08 2020, sees the arrival of train #0079 through Golden Square, consisting of T385 + T386 + G531 + BL34 + XR555. After parking the movement at the fuel point of the Bendigo Roundhouse, sees train #0082 awaiting departure. Later that afternoon train #0082 consisting of S302 + G529 passing through Golden Square & departing Kangaroo Flat. Delayed posting due to being very busy.
18.01.2022 SSR's light engine movements on 05 11 2020 from Melbourne to Bendigo, consisted of; Train #0079, incorporating locomotives T381 + BL28, being the first time BL28 has ever been to Bendigo. Later in the afternoon train #0084 consisting of T381 + B76, being a light engine movement from North Bendigo Workshops to the Bendigo Roundhouse. Finally in the day, an impressive lashup for train #0082, consisting of S312 + P16 + P14 + T363 + T381 + BL34 departed Bendigo for Melbourne. Late adding due to being incredibly busy over the last month.
18.01.2022 SSR's grain train #7792V loads in Birchip Grainflow facility on 09 08 2020, with the impressive lash-up of 4911 + 4917 + 4532 + 602 + CPL12. Being the first time most of the locos have run to Birchip, the lash-up included the recently re-commissioned CLP12 ( still in undercoat ). Locations of the images with the final at Donald in failing light. Delayed posting due to being very busy.
18.01.2022 SSR's light engine movement on 20 08 2020 being train #0082, consisted of P18 + XR550 + G524, captured in Golden Square & departing Kangaroo Flat. Delayed posting due to being very busy.
17.01.2022 SSR loaded grain train #9098 from Elmore on route to the Allied Mills in Kensington climbs the bank on the outskirts of Huntly in Spring like conditions, with S302 + S312 + T386 providing the motive power.
15.01.2022 Pacific National loaded grain train #7936V consisting of 8159 + 8137 + 8146 is seen near Bealiba & climbing Gooseberry Hill departing Dunolly on 14 09 2020.
15.01.2022 SSR's light engine movement on 21 09 2020 from Melbourne to Bendigo, being train #0079, consisted of locomotives P17 + G524 + B76 + B80 + T363. The works to the CFCLA locomotives, B76 + B80, is yet to be publicly advised.
15.01.2022 New generation VLocity 3VL88 arrives & departs Kangaroo Flat on its first day of revenue service today ( 20 09 2020 ), being train #8025.
14.01.2022 SSR's loaded grain shuttle being #7711V consisting of RL301 + RL304 parks in the siding at Glenorchy on 09 08 2020. RL301 contains its recent added name plate 'Wayne Fisher'. Delayed posting due to being very busy.
14.01.2022 Coinciding with a work trip to Melbourne, we find the following train movements back on 18 11 2020; PN Intermodal freight train #4MC2, departs North Dynon on route to Griffith, powered by NR105 + NR14. QUBE train #4MC1 departs North Dynon on route to southern New South Wales, powered by QBX001 + 1101. PN combined steel & freight train #3XM4 arrives out of the Bunbury Street tunnel & crosses the Maribyrnong River on approach to North Dynon, powered by NR100 + NR68. PN steel tr...ain #4WM2 navigates the reverse 'S' bends at Broadford on route to Melbourne, powered by NR98 - LDP002 + LDP001. Late adding due to being incredibly busy over the last month. See more
13.01.2022 SSR's light engine movement on 10 09 2020 being train #0082, consisted of T385 + T386 + G525, captured in Golden Square.
12.01.2022 SSR's light engine transfer of 3 Pacific National locomotives from South Dynon to Bendigo for maintenance, as well as S317 which is believed to have failed last week on the Quambatook grain, being train #0079 with T385 + S317 + G527 + G531 + G522 captured at Golden Square & Bendigo
12.01.2022 VLine streamliner locomotive A66 returns to the Bendigo Roundhouse today ( 18 09 2020 ), after spending most of the day at the fuel point, connected to a couple of T Classes.
11.01.2022 Taking the chance for the return of the impressive SSR grain train on the North-Eastern standard gauge rail corridor payed off for a close mate & myself, with the capture of the intended train #4CM5 powered by GM27 + S311 + GM22 + CLF3 + RL302. Last shot was the best in last light, with an overtake by a broad gauge passenger train service from Seymour to Melbourne being train #8336 powered by 3VL65. Impressive sounding video will be posted soon.

07.01.2022 Some images from yesterdays ( 09 07 2020 ) SSR transfers to Bendigo & within Bendigo. Train #9081 with S312 + T363 arriving into SSR East Bendigo workshops & later that evening SSR train #9084 with T363 + G512 + S312, where the S & grain wagon was replaced with an XR for the trip to Melbourne.
06.01.2022 SSR train #5VK6, being an empty grain train from Allied Mills in Maldon NSW, powered by RL306 + 4917 + RL301, seen passing through Craigieburn on route to Wolseley in South Australia for loading.
06.01.2022 SSR's light engine movements on 01 10 2020 from Melbourne to Bendigo, being train #0079, consisted of locomotives S317 + T386. Whilst S317 sat in the car road for some time whist #0082 was assembled. S317 eventually headed into the roundhouse for attention & the impressive lashup of train #0082 consisting of B75 + T386 + P16 + T381 + P17 + XR554 departed for Melbourne.
06.01.2022 Some images from around Bendigo today ( 09 10 2020 ) finds A66 basking in the sun & getting some TLC, including a much needed wash, at the fuel point with XR555 providing the moral support. Out at North Bendigo workshops finds B80 + B76 + G524 as well as a freshly painted N470, a partially stripped P11, and an uncertain future for B65 + A78 still on transfer bogies.
04.01.2022 Under stormy & windy conditions on 27 12 2020, SSR's train #1MC1, being an empty grain train from Appleton Dock heads north to New South Wales to load at Ardlethan, powered by the impressive 5 locomotive combination consisting RL302 + CLP12 + CLF3 + GM22 + GM27, 4 of the units being 'Bulldog' Streamliner locomotives. CLP12 was reported to have been taken off at Junee & transferred onto #1MC2. With a combined 14,000 horse power produced by the 5 EMD engines, provides easy going for the 45 empty wagons.
04.01.2022 A couple of images of Pacific National's intermodal freight #4SM2 powered by NR49 + NR32 observed as it exits the Bunbury Street tunnel & crosses the Maribyrnong River arriving into Melbourne rail yards & then diverts into North Dynon rail yard for unloading.
02.01.2022 A few of images from my trip to Melbourne on 04 01 2021, where I was fortunate enough to follow SSR loaded grain train #1CM2, powered by GM22 + GM27 + CLF3 + RL302, from Broadford to Melbourne rail yard in deteriorating weather conditions.
02.01.2022 SSR's loaded grain train #9096 on 05 11 2020 heading to Melbourne, consisted of B75 + S302, arrives into Bendigo for a short break before a early morning departure the next day. Late adding due to being incredibly busy over the last month.
01.01.2022 Like many others, the opportunity existed to see the Victorian movement of the AK Cars, with Bernie Baker at the helm before his retirement. We find train #MK82 traversing the reverse 'S' bends at Broadford with GM27 + 442s2 providing the motive power. Here is a photo from 2016, with Bernie behind the throttle of a streamliner. Happy retirement Bernie & looking forward to Streamliners 2021.
