On Friday 30th October, WA’s Premier Mark McGowan announced that Western Australia would move to a controlled border effective 14th November 2020. This is the news many of us have been waiting for - especially those of us in the travel industry & families separated by State & Territory restrictions.... We are all very grateful for the safety to our health that the WA border closure has provided, but these closures have also been hard on many businesses, perhaps none more than those in the travel & tourism sector. Not to forget the many families & friends that have missed out on important events like births, marriages & funerals. Since March, we have been working tirelessly undoing the bookings for many of our loyal clients. Negotiating with airlines, hotels, wholesalers and other suppliers to obtain the best possible refunds or credits on your behalf. Our industry basically went in reverse. But as I’ve said all along, Motive Travel were in this for the long-haul. We’ve worked through many challenging times including airline collapses, 9/11, the two Bali bombings and SARS and have managed to survive.
