We say thanks to those who fought for our freedom. We would not be living in such a beautiful country without their sacrifices. We will remember them.... Lest we Forget See more
20.01.2022 Against the backdrop of rising antisemitism, racism, and the shadow of Covid-19, these expressions of optimism and unity will help illuminate the world against darkness and hatred. These are some of many messages and prayers that will be projected on the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem and Coventry Cathedral on the night of November 9th and the synagogue in Frankfurt will be illuminated. 19.01.2022 Be sure to join International March of the Living's next Survivor Speaker Series featuring Mania Hudy on Friday, December 4 at 9:00 AM AEST. Mania Hudy’s story is one of highs and lows. Mania, known affectionately to all who know her as Buba, was born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1933. She lived a comfortable childhood until the Germans invaded in 1939. When her family was forced into the ghetto, Mania, at just seven years old, smuggled food in to help feed her family, due to her ...Aryan appearance. When Mania fell ill at the age of 10 with typhus, she and her brother escaped to hide with a non-Jewish couple in a forest. After being expelled from the farmhouse, Mania was sent on a train to Auschwitz with other Polish prisoners, yet ended up in Bergen-Belsen. She survived and was liberated by the American army in 1945. After the war, Mania miraculously reunited with her mother and siblings and immigrated to Israel by way of France. She then went on to live in Argentina for over a decade. She currently resides in Toronto, Canada and has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mania finds incredible strength in sharing her story with the next generation. Register here > motl.org/mania
19.01.2022 On 6 December 1938, a delegation from the Australian Aborigines’ League (AAL) led by Yorta Yorta Elder William Cooper, walked from Footscray to the German Consulate in Melbourne, to lodge a formal protest against Nazi persecution of the Jews of Europe. Sadly, at this time of a rise in far-right bigotry across society, there is new urgency to educate people about basic Human Rights, role-modelled by the actions of the determined activists of the AAL, who stood up for others wh...ilst not having any rights of their own. March of the Living Australia is excited to promote and support an upcoming event being hosted by The William Cooper Legacy Project, in recognition of the 82nd anniversary of this incredible historic moment of solidarity and unity. Featuring an amazing line-up of Australian legends, including: Kate Ceberano, Lior, Paul Grabowsky, Deborah Cheetham and others. Click on the event to register.

13.01.2022 Despite the fact that Kristallnacht, which saw the destruction of thousands of synagogues and Jewish institutions, took place 82 years ago, the world has still not learned the lessons of the past. Attacks on Houses of Worship of all faiths continuously occur, time and time again. This year, the International March of the Living launched the Let There Be Light campaign, which strove to unite the world against the darkness of hate. The campaign brought together messages of ho...pe from people of all faiths, from around the world, as well as produced a 90-minute virtual educational program. 8,000 pledges were submitted from 72 countries, including 700 Houses of Worship and institutions. This global interfaith intiative reached its peak on November 9th, the anniversary of Kristallnacht, with an impressive projection of collected messages on Jerusalem’s Old City walls and on the Coventry Cathedral in the UK. 11.01.2022 Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, z"l 8 March 1948 - 7 November 2020 We at MOTL Australia were deeply saddened by the news of the recent passing of Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, z"l. A towering and celebrated moral thinker and globally renowned intellect of Judaism, Rabbi Sacks' contribution to world Jewry, philosophy, faith and ethics was unparalleled. ... At a time when anti-Semitism continued to rear its head in the UK, most notably and notoriously in the running and leadership of the Labour party, Rabbi Sacks' voice and keenly sensitive and considered thoughts, opinions and insights continued to be a beacon of truth, light, hope and understanding. May his memory forever be a blessing. Image courtesy: rabbisacks.org

08.01.2022 "Currently, the political climate in our country is poisoned. There is a new antisemitism upcoming. I want to make sure that at least my family will never again be responsible for injustice experienced by others, but stand up to take part for the weak," Edelmann wrote.
08.01.2022 The response from institutions, organisations, houses of worship and private individuals from across the country was overwhelming and extremely encouraging. This kind of unifying, inclusive, universal-values-based initiative that encourages remembering and learning from the past in order to ensure a better and brighter present and future for all humanity is at the core of what March of the Living stands for and sees as its mission." - Cedric Geffen, President of March of the Living Australia.

In the days following, 30,000 Jewish men were arrested and sent to Nazi concentration camps. Join us in commemorating this seminal event.... 02.01.2022 More than seven decades ago, their families were divided by war and hatred Koenraad Tinel, the son of a Nazi sympathiser, and Simon Gronowski, a Holocaust survivor who lost his mother and sister to Auschwitz. Now the two men, both in their 80s, have forged a close friendship that has become a symbol of reconciliation in their native Belgium. Read the full New York Post article below.
01.01.2022 Saturday marked Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, memorializing the 1.5 million Armenians killed by Ottoman forces in the 20th century's first genocide. Explaining his own genocidal plans in 1939, Hitler reportedly observed that he expected to receive little pushback: "Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?" More than a century later, even as some still deny the decimation of Armenians, March of the Living Australia stands with the Armenian community and persecuted Christians everywhere. We remember the atrocities and all the murdered civilians while vowing to act today to overcome bigotry before it turns deadly. Image source: Library of Congress
