25.01.2022 Thanks Abhishek for asking me back to service your great little YZF-R150 Yamaha today. Looking forward to a couple of new shoes and a chain and sprocket upgrade very soon.

23.01.2022 Collected a really cool 1956 BSA B40. Tanya the owner has owned it for 30 plus years and not ridden or started for 10years. Really looking forward to this job !! I will post some photos when I get the camera on my phone working.....

20.01.2022 Update on the Harley wheel bearing job. On inspection the inner section of the inner bearing race has failed to the point where the bearing rollers have jumped inwards somehow - the wheel, spacer tube and the side of the wheel bearing have then become "the new bearing race". Substantial damage to the inner shoulder of the wheel. Bearing and spacer tube replaced. Watch this space, it isn't finished yet.

20.01.2022 Harley week last week. Another new customer with what was described as a wobble feeling and crunching noise from the rear end, only sometimes. Owner wisely parked the bike at home. Ivestigation revealed a very serious and potentially dangerous failure. Updates to come. Thanks for calling me out Ian.

19.01.2022 Some small progress on our BSA project. Sourced quite a few of the parts needed, and received them last week. Started out with the ignition side of things, some pretty average repairs and setups carried out previously makes it a long process. Points and condenser set, cleaned up and ready for fitment. Decompression lever was very tight in head, so new o rings and lubrication should sort that out. Kickstarter seal sourced and fitted also.

19.01.2022 And another package today, feels like Christmas !! Watch this space......again.

19.01.2022 Huge thanks to Michelle and Tristan for asking me to look after their Honda Super Cub (modern postie bike). Collected the bike from Park Ridge and delivered back when completed. Needed chain and sprockets, swingarm bushes plus a pivot bolt and a new chain slider. Organised a roadworthy and returned number plated up and ready to roll. Thanks for the work Michelle and Tristan, much appreciated.

18.01.2022 Collected a CB600 from another long term customer yesterday, had a poor running issue. Owner managed to get it home, now no start - winds no fire. Has injector pulse, spark, fuel pressure and sounds like it has consistent compression - yet to be confirmed. Watch this space.....

18.01.2022 Still photos of chipper job.

18.01.2022 Bit of an update on the little blue 2008 CBF250 loan bike.... Sold as of today, time for an upgrade..... Update on new loan bike to replace that trusty old steed very soon......

18.01.2022 Thanks Reece for helping out lately, greatly appreciated buddy. Try for a better candid shot next time

17.01.2022 I have some pretty cool news to share very soon. The photo forms part of the story......

16.01.2022 A couple of videos from the little 80 to share as well.

16.01.2022 Stator bolt failure on Suzuki, and the resultant damage. More to come, works in progress.

15.01.2022 Thanks to Abin for asking me to service his CBR500 this morning. Thanks for the business Abin, it was great to meet you and your Dad. Looking forward to servicing Jose CBR500 in a week or so also.

15.01.2022 Collected Jags wounded CBR600 on Monday night, it had a meeting with the gravel near Mt Tamborine over the weekend. Owner is fine, bike slightly worse for wear. Watch this space for updates as we progress through some panel repairs. Hopefully not a write off, really nice bike.

14.01.2022 Suzuki DRZ400 with failed stator came back together and fired up pretty much first wind - after the starter motor was removed, stripped, cleaned and greased that is !! With the starter in a happier place we were all systems go for a quick button push fire up, really happy. Valves adjusted (shims) with the usual tight exhausts and not too bad inlets. 2nd hand stator, carby stripped and cleaned, spark plug and oil change. Wash and a road test, all good. Some hot soak starts and a longer cool down start and all is good. Had to refresh my memory on oil level checking with these Suzuki thumper dry sump engines though - they run oil in the frame and a small volume in the engine. Pretty specific checking procedure that I have seen plenty get wrong over the years.

14.01.2022 I have a Suzuki Boulevard cruiser in the workshop currently for a check over of suspected rear suspension / wheel bearing issue. This is the 1800cc version - huge bike with incredible torque. This bike has a 240 section rear tyre, which is wider than most hatchbacks type tyres. More to come......

13.01.2022 Thanks to Akhil for asking me to sort his scooter tyre, collected from Morningside on Saturday morning, sourced a new tyre and fitted it up. Check out the video as to why the puncture was not repairable !! Delivered back today to a very happy owner. Thanks Akhil for the business.

13.01.2022 Another cracking junior bike in the workshop. Different colour but plenty of fun. Check over and service coming up. Thanks Chris and Amy, you'll be back on the track quick smart.

13.01.2022 Collected a pretty cool looking XR650 tonight. Owners brief - get it running properly ! No problem, Chris. Last it ran in anger was a treck through the desert with some mates a few years ago. Watch this space.......again.

12.01.2022 Watch this space......here we go.....

12.01.2022 A great reminder why it's not a good idea to overtighten inspection plugs. The oring plug seals the timing inspection port only and is not required to be tightened to failure. Loctite and a gentle feel, not a bar and heavy hand. The result over overtightening, crushing the oring and causing much wasted time destroying the plug in order to get it out is attached in photo.

10.01.2022 A job for tomorrow - 1982 IT175 and KTM525 fork seals. Most likely a tidy up of the triples and handlebars whilst we are at it.

10.01.2022 I was asked this week to look at a lovely little CRF / XR80 that was running poorly. Looks like previous owner may have submerged at some stage !! Luckily the air filter was able to be resurrected, cleaned airbox and intake piping. Removed carby and cleaned out the silt. Adjusted the valves, replaced the spark plug, lubed the chain and reset tyre pressures - good to go ! This highlights the benefit of good quality ongoing servicing and maintenance after a ride day. Thanks Pete for your custom.

10.01.2022 Thanks to Hassan, carried out a service on his beautiful Triumph Bonneville yesterday. Must be the very last of the carburetor models (2011) Has oxygen sensors and very computer looking ignition module, digital odometer, high pressure coupling fuel lines and Keihin carburetors. Great looking bike and fantastic to work on. Love your multi coloured helmet too Hassan, great look. Thanks for the custom Hassan and I look forward to seeing you and the Bonny again.

08.01.2022 In the middle of one of the biggest jobs we have had in the workshop for a while, Suzuki Boulevard M109R gearbox second gear issue. Jumping out and back in under heavy acceleration load. Thanks to Springwood Suzuki for valuable advice also. Started stripping down and discovered a very loose earth at an engine point, and a corroded coil power terminal on one cylinder. Once these items were rectified we made the decision to re test in case it was a masked cylinder misfire. Testing showed it not to be the case and we stripped it down, removed powertrain and started tear down. Watch this space....

08.01.2022 A familiar set of handlebars have migrated back to the workshop....watch this space!!

07.01.2022 A familiar face returned to the workshop this week. Aneesh and his 2008 Royal Enfield Bullet, 500cc single. Looks to be experiencing some electrical wiring gremlins, more to come as we work through some very ordinary wiring harnesses and connectors.

06.01.2022 Thanks to Kevin for asking me to carry out service and safety check on his RSV4 Aprillia. Great looking bike Kevin and thanks for the business, much appreciated.

04.01.2022 I also have a CB110 Super Cub in the workshop at the moment (think modern postie bike) Chain and sprockets plus a set of swingarm bushes to be replaced, all for roadworthy. Thanks Michelle for the business, much appreciated.

04.01.2022 Update on the Suzuki failed stator bolts. After 2 and a half hours of hand filing the damaged threads on the flywheel, my puller attached with enough purchase to remove and check for damage between flywheel and crankcase, plus the starter motor gear and associated sprag clutch. Fitted my replacement stator with new bolts and washers, all done with loctite - after each of the threads checked and cleaned of any oil or damage. Fitted new timing plug too !!

04.01.2022 Can now reveal the owner of the Harley handlebars that revisited the workshop last week. These were the bars that came off the high bar swap a while ago. Darren bought them and are now pride of place on his awesome fatboy. Darren asked for a service as well, happy to oblige Darren - thanks for your custom.

04.01.2022 Finished off the Royal Enfield service and repairs today. Replaced front wheel bearings with service. Fuel tank has a bit of surface rust on the inside so we have added an inline fuel filter until Aneesh the owner decides a course of action, carburettor was well full of fine silt as well. Washed it down and the stop light ceased operating.....quick diagnosis showed a poor connection at the light assy. Stripped and fixed another loose wiring connection - this bike suffers wiring issues frequently - back together and ready for delivery to Aneesh tomorrow morning. Thanks Aneesh.

03.01.2022 Update on Suzuki DRZ400 stator, new unit fitted and loctited in. New timing plug fitted and correctly tensioned, valves reset, carby cleaned. All ready to start up.

03.01.2022 Some follow up work on Abhisheks little R15 Yamaha. Being sold, preparation included some previously reported works. Front disc pads, a brake pedal rubber and a very second hand chain and sprockets set. Thanks Abhishek, greatly appreciate the business.

03.01.2022 Preparing the little CRF100 for Jo's debut. Chain and sprockets plus new tyres and tubes. Let's see how we go !!

02.01.2022 KTM forks in progress, interesting to see one leg oil very clean, one pretty discoloured. Original owner maybe topping up instead of fixing the issue ? Sure fire way of having completely different actions in each leg.

02.01.2022 Happy now to reveal the contents of the large box on bike trailer from earlier this week. We are slowly adding a workshop premise to the existing business, this bike lifter is one new aspect to the fit out. We are continuing to provide the at home / mobile service we have carried out from day one. ... Another new edition is the Kawasaki Ninja 300 loan bike on the lifter. This replaces the Honda CB250 we commenced the loan bike program with. Feel free to ask for the loaner at your next service or repair.

02.01.2022 Update on the Chrysler 318ci wood chipper. Was throwing fan belts, originally runs an 11mm wide v belt due to having that size crankshaft pulley. Only problem was that alternator and water pump were 13mm wide pulleys. As expected nobody was able to supply a 13mm crank pulley - so Terry made one. The water pump pulley was treated to a molasses bath to strip the rust, and a new paint job at the same time. Fitted all up with new 13mm wide belt - results are in the photos. Runs like a new one.

01.01.2022 Great to see another return customer today. Syed owned the little CB250 cafe racer we returned to the living a while ago. Syed has moved to an MT03 now and has asked us to continue the association by looking after the little Yamaha too. Someone has added a couple of mods, rear exhaust section plus a K&N filter - for reasons unknown. Not the best looking filter mod, effective and safe however. Thanks Syed.
